"She is yours. After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true." THAT, Jen, is how you deliver a burn, with dry Vulcan wit. Spock is warning Stonn "This ice-cold piece of work is going to mess you up too." The older Vulcan woman was named T'Pau, and there was even a singing group named T'Pau famous for the song "Heart and Soul." Everyone remembers "Mirror, Mirror" for Spock with a beard, but can we take one moment to salute Uhura for rocking those core abdominals of hers? The actor playing the Commodore in "The Doomsday Machine" also played the lawyer that Gregory Peck went up against in the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird." One episode you may want to see, if only to better understand Spock, is "Journey to Babel." featuring Spock's father, Vulcan's Ambassador Sarek, and his mother, a human woman named Amanda. Thank you so much, Jen, and please feel free to go check out strange new episodes you've never seen before.
Watching the bridge Dynamic between Spock and Commodore Decker (interesting 'Decker/Motion Picture' similarity) reminds me of the argument between Spock and Kirk in JJ's concept of Star Trek. While the human rages the vulcan continues his communication of the decision and reason behind it.
I recall hearing David Gerrold (the Tribbles writer) somewhere (DVD commentary track, maybe?) talking about how happy he was with how Statner immediately understood how to play that episode. Every single character on the show is playing things completely straight and normal. Except Kirk, who's just in a slow burn the whole freakin' time, and you just _know_ there's some little thing coming up any minute that's just going to make him *explode*. Gold. Solid flippin' gold.
I'm so glad "Amok Time" was part of this. Another episode that reveals more of Spock's background is "Journey to Babel" With any luck, this will be in the bonus 6 episodes you watched. Fingers crossed..
"Spock with a goatee is blowing my mind". I chuckled when I heard you say that comment. It's so cool to be able to watch you geek out over Star Trek. And also cool to see someone from your generation get into TOS and watch the show work its magic. It's still such a great show despite its age. And ,yes, Captain Kirk was a looker!
@@kerry-j4mI can’t tell you how many times I’ve been watching a TV show from the ‘50s or ‘60s and noticed a stunning actress guest starring. When I looked her up, more often than not it was Arlene Martel.
I believe that happens in one of the Animated Series Episodes. They don't get enough credit--they are actually very good stories. It's the typical cheap 70's animation (which is a shame there was very good animation well before that). But the stories... really good, and stuff that couldn't be done with special effects outside of animation. More stories to explore with this team if you've never seen them, you're missing out!!
I first watched Star Trek in 1978 on my grandparent's console TV. The show would come on Monday to Friday at 5PM in syndication. One of the episodes was "The Doomsday Machine" so I saw it with the original graphics and poor child me was terrified but couldn't look away from behind the sofa!! So good.
One of my favorite episodes, but man... that was some bad over-acting from the Commodore. I had a co-worker once where we would yell at each other and say " I DON'T RECOGNIZE YOUR AUTHORITY TO RELIEVE ME!" in full over-wrought acting style. We managed to work it in at least once a week for 5 years. It never got old.
@@sparky6086 Little column A, little column B. William Windom thought the role was kind of silly, what with the planet eater and the spaceships, so decided to play it like he was in a cartoon. But this gave Decker the right unhinged intensity to make the performance and character truly memorable. You really believe this is a guy totally off his gourd, a threat to himself and everyone around him.
It's amusing how Jen knows what a mirror universe is without ever seeing this episode. That's how deeply ingrained the idea has become. And watching "Doomsday Machine" it occurs to me- this is the remastered version of TOS, isn't it? The doomsday machine was a bit too smooth for the 60s tech.
One of the episodes that benefits most from the remaster. I wonder if they considered redesigning the doomsday machine to fit the writer's original "bristling with weapons" idea, but decided that the design was too iconic to change?
It is so much FUN watching a musician fall in love with the scoring on TOS. Your constant comments "Bass clarinet!!" and imitations "Ba-baaaa!!" make these videos for me. For many TOS fans, the music is as much a character as the Enterprise. We have every note of every single cue memorized. Only a dozen or so of episodes had original scores written for them. The rest were scored by editing the existing cues together. It's funny that most of the ones on this Top 10 list had original scores.
It was more than a dozen episodes, closer to 30 or so that had full or partial original scores. There was a 15 CD box set released a few years ago with all of the original music. It's no longer in print, though.
@@jsharp3165 the box set has *all* of the original music, sourced from the original tapes and remastered - it’s not a mere repackaging of earlier soundtrack releases. It has everything ever recorded for the show, even the Desilu fanfare!
They added the soprano vocal to the theme starting with season 2. They also moved DeForest Kelly to the opening credits (after Shatner and Nemoy's names) at the same time. How could I not "like" this?
Aside from the changes in the theme music, it is also possible to tell the season from the opening credits. Season 1 credits just Shatner and Nimoy as leading actors with the lettering in gold/yellow; Season 2 adds Kelley's name and also has the same gold/yellow lettering; finally Season 3 credits all 3 actors, but the lettering is now in blue.
Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) was an amazing woman. Beautiful up until the day she left us. Rest In Power. Also, "Trouble With Tribbles" is one of my absolute fav episodes from this era. Another one is "City on the Edge of Forever"
"Hey, it's eating my grain!" Gotta love Pavel Chekov. A hopeful figure of peace in a time of cold war as an Eastern European character, Walter Koenig's accent becomes THE defining feature of Chekov.
Fun Fact: Scotty is Canadian. Shame on Jen, not only that, but he is a decorated War hero. On D Day he was Shot 6 times by a nervous Canadian sentry four in the legs, one that took off one of his middle finger, and one in the chest saved by a cigarette case his brother gave him. He would later fly planes in the Canadian air force. Love to you and your sister, miss her. Great reaction, Mirror Mirror is my favorite episode.
@@BEBruns I know BEB, I was only reacting to paulmohr319's comment that "Scotty is Canadian". We all know the character Scotty was Scottish, but James Doohan the actor was from Canada.
Thank you for dropping this! I was worried you weren’t going to and I really wanted to see it. I love TOS and I love you reacting to it! It’s hard to believe this show is 60 years old.
All these years later and I still can't get over how good the sounds/music are in this show. The music always carried the scene telling how you should feel and even just the buttons and bridge noises really sell the idea you're on the Enterprise. Lost track of how many times that fight music from Amok time has been used in parodies. Its a stone cold classic I had it as my ring tone for years 😆
Star Trek was always such a great series because it was so character driven with a subtle social commentary and moral lessons that let the viewer discover it for themselves without the viewer being told what to think, a skill that is sadly lacking in so many shows today. Love your reactions and looking forward to your reactions to Star Trek 3 & 4 as well as The Next Generation.
@@Yora21 It's certainly subtle compared to Star Trek in the last 10 years or so. In regards to STD, Picard and the like - there is ZERO subtlety to, as the Critical Drinker puts it - *THE MESSAGE!!!!* Anvils being dropped on all the audience heads CONSTANTLY compared to the original!
Wow. Nobody commented on this yet. The Vulcan greeting came from a Jewish Kabbalistic/rabbinical gesture. Leonard Nimoy grew up in a Jewish family. He peaked during a certain part of the service when the rabbi would spread arms towards the congregation. Both hands make that V like gesture, which is actually the form of the Hebrew letter shin. There’s more kabbalistic lore about this gesture. When this episode was in preparation, Leonard figured that because we’re witnessing the Vulcan culture for the first time, we ought to be introduced to some unique gesture. He remembered the rabbinical gesture and included it. Celia Lovsky couldn’t keep her hand that way for long so they taped the backs of her fingers. She merely raised her hand into the camera shot, as you may notice.
Mark 1:08:56. In the original version, the Romulans suddenly had Klingon D-7 Battlecruisers because the model of the Romulan Bird of Prey had been destroyed or otherwise lost. 😳 So with the opportunity presented by the project to digitally remaster the episodes they restored BOPs as CGI models whenever they could. 😊
Love your reactions Jen! I am sure someone has mentioned it but just in case...Commodore Decker in the Doomsday Machine is the father of Captain Decker in Star Trek the Motion Picture.
Interesting tidbit... you mentioned chemistry between Kirk and Uhura: the first inter-racial kiss on prime-time TV was in the episode Plato's Stepchildren. It is considered a major cultural milestone. And YES PLEASE more episodes with reactions... I'm enjoying TOS all over again with your reactions :)
"Mirror, mirror" is one of my FAVORITE episodes of all time! I loved it when I was a kid! I think that back in the day a lot of people thought that Spock looked like the devil with his ears in combination with the goatee. I thought he looked amazing! And I also really loved Kirk and McCoy. 😁❤️
So glad you reacted to my favorite Trek episode "Doomsday Machine." Not only does it contain the best countdown ending of any episode, but also boasts a magnificent, Wagnerian musical score by Sol Kaplan which would be reused throughout the remaining episodes (particularly in "Obsession" and "The Ultimate Computer."). Various impressive touches abound, and even the transporter gets its own musical theme. I'm so glad you watch these classic episodes in just the right spirit, instead of obsessing over them being "dated" as many reactors do.
Nurse Chapel, Majel Barrett, has been madly in love with Spock for longer than the series was on TV. Also, she and Leonard Nimoy are the only two actors who were in the original pilot episode which was adapted into "The Managerie" An interesting side note: Majel Barrett was also married to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry until his passing in 1991 at the age of 70. Mrs. Roddenberry passed away in 2008.
The actress playing T'Ping is so-GORGEOUS !!! And-SEXY-too. There was a novel writtened about a Doomsday Machine fighting the Borg, can't recall the name of the novel tho.
@@kerry-j4m Arlene Martel was a babe in the 1960's. She played Tiger of the leaders of the French Resistance on Hogan Heroes and was a regular guest star on TV shows in the 60's and 70's. She also did a Battlestar Galactica Episode where she played a prisoner in the Prison Colony Starbuck found himself in on The Long Patrol. She was Adulteress 58. You can tell from her accent. She was great with accents.
"He shall have her, now that he knows what she looks like in space lingerie" had me ROLLING! Lol! Jen, I love you so much! And I love the fact you're getting into these old TV shows and movies! The world of Star Trek welcomes you! You're one of us now! 🖖😁
Hey Jen, thanks for sharing all the love and laughs you have for Star Trek. As a child of the late '60s & early'70s, Star Trek reruns were a staple in my family home for almost two decades. Watching your Star Trek reactions has given me something I never really had before, which is a huge new appreciation of the music of the original series. Thank you for calling out the various instruments and the awesome atmosphere they create. You are the absolute coolest Star Trek reactor, period..!
I don't know if you noticed, but Mr. Kyle, who is the transporter officer in a bunch of episodes, was the communications officer of the Reliant in Wrath of Khan. He made it to Commander.
OHHHHH HELL YEAH! Fifty thumbs up for this idea. I'll suggest full Mirror universe Spock cosplay for Evil Jen. She did like his shiny shirt after all, and has thigh high boots just begging for a knife.
Interestingly, the shirts that read as gold in the filming of Star Trek TOS were actually of a light green color, which only FILMED gold. That's why Kirk's fancy trial uniform is that green color, as is his v-neck tunic. I, too, think he looks better in the green. If you want to see Spock and Kirk in amazing clothes, please see "A Piece of The Action", a very funny episode from.the 2nd season (episode 17)
Yes I would love to see 6 bonus episodes on TH-cam. I've seen other reactors doing Star Trek on TH-cam and i enjoy yours the best. I'm totally with you in how you see the show and it really feels like I'm in the room watching it with you.
I live alone and is retired now living in Jamaica. Watching Jen's videos is like having a house quest who is witty watching with me. Her videos are special.
I think that you were born out of time. You seem to really enjoy the episodes and the instrumentals. They're all very '60s. The stories in Star Trek were so much more important than the sets or the special effects, but they still did very good with the sets on the special effects, even back in the '60s. Right now, what you're watching is remastered versions so you're not actually seeing what we saw 60 years ago. But it's all good and I'm glad you are discovering it. Because Star Trek the original series was a groundbreaking amazing show. I'm so glad to have been able to watch it from day one. I'm 69 now and I have loved this show my entire life.
Thank you for saying what I've been saying for years none of the other Series has ever come close to the original music from being exciting to romantic Original Series has it all 🙂👍
I've tried several different reactors watching episodes from the original Star Trek, and Jen is easily the best. I also enjoy her appreciation of the use of music, that's not something I've heard any others comment on.
The original gold uniforms were actually green but the material that was used looked gold under the lighting during filming, the captains green command tunic was what the gold uniforms were supposed to look like. For The Next Generation the colors were changed to Red for command and gold for operations
@@terrylandess6072 Yeah it also showed in the dress uniforms, I rember seeing the actual standard uniforms in the green color at The Smithsonian Institute I believe.

39:29 Try to imagine what Commodore Decker went through. His ship, the _Constellation,_ was going up against a gargantuan, planet-eating, mechanical monster. He didn't think the ship would survive, but they couldn't muster warp power to leave the system or get a transmission to Starfleet. So the crew was evacuated to a planet so he could face the monster without risking their lives... and then the monster ate the planet they had been evacuated to. Just like that, he went from being the only one at _risk_ to being the only _survivor._ More than 400 lives he was responsible for and he lost them _all._ Now I have tried, many times, to imagine what this would be like. I legitimately can't.
The 2nd best thing ever shown on the internet! Thank you thank you thank you. :) Comments: 1. It is well known that "The Doomsday Machine" is James Doohan's favorite episode (Scotty). 2. You asked during "Amok Time" if Spock had a human mother. It is said in several of these episodes that he is half human. His mother appears in the episode "Journey to Babel". A great episode that delves deep into Spock's character and Kirk's legendary command ability. 3. About Kirk's command. As demonstrated in several of the episodes you watched, he is THE BEST! In "Space Seed", his crew was willing to die to protect his ship. In "The Doomsday Machine", Spock was willing to risk his entire career to follow Kirk instead of the Commodore, and Kirk was willing to risk his career for Spock in "Amok Time." And if you want to know what the rest of Starfleet thinks of him, "Court Martial" is the episode to watch. 4. Must see episodes: The Galileo Seven, Taste of Armageddon, The Tholian Web all show how loyal Kirk's crew is to him, and he to them. Love the channel!
Well of course I want (and I'm sure many other want) to see more Star Trek! And not just 6 episodes -- there are so many great episodes of this series, and lots of fans to guide you to them.
Ms. Murray, I’m loving your reactions, and I adore the way you sing along with the music, I could listen to you singing this music all day, every day and it would never get old. Keep on Trekin’ ❤
If you'd like to learn more about Spock, I'd suggest Journey to Babel. Mirror, Mirror is a premise too good for one episode. It shows up again in later series, sometimes as a recurring element. The Trouble with Tribbles was revisited for an episode of Deep Space Nine, where the crew goes back in time and observes the events. They :"Forest Gumped" the footage and dropped the cast from the 90's into the show from the 60's. Klingons change in later series as the budget and make up improved. They tried to retcon an explanation of this into one of the later series, but it's best if you pretend not to notice. Three actors who played Klingons in major roles during the original series came back as the same characters in the updated makeup for an episode of Deep Space Nine.
Mark 37:25. This episode has "Matthew Decker" the father of "William Decker" and so now you can compare and contrast how the father and son each dealt with their respective machines! 😎
As a kid I watched these in syndication. I was too young when they originally aired. (4 yrs old). Always a lot of fun to watch your reactions Jen, and your sense of humor keeps me laughing throughout. Can wait for the next video.
Hi Jen, I`m glad you enjoyed these episodes as much as I first did back in the `60`s. I ran round my paper round to get home in time for each episode & it was worth it. Those who choose these for you did a good, though almost impossible job. :)
Two other good, funny episodes are, "I, Mudd", and "A Piece of the Action". If you like humorous Trek , you'll really like thise. Another excellent 3rd season episode: "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" A great 2nd season episode is, "Journey to Babel"!
Mark 1:44. I watched an awards show that had a special category about television theme songs. I think because they had fallen out of favor by then. So it was about either the "best" or "most popular". William Shatner and an Opera singing lady performed this theme! But the winner was the "Green Acres" theme! It was long before he became POTUS, as DJT and the actress from "Will & Grace" performed it! He even wore denim overalls, a straw hat, and did the beat with a pitchfork! 😅😂

You really need to see the Fan series " Star Trek Continues" . The final two episodes "To Go Boldly" parts 1 & 2 offer a sort of follow up to both this episode and the episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before" The part of the female romulan commander was actually played by the original actresses daughter and she knocked it out of the park!!

Jen, I love to hear you singing the theme music and showing appreciation for all of the original series' music. It really is one of the best things about that series.
There's actually quite a lot a captain can get away with when his ship is concerned. I quote Robert A. Heinlein (a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and commissioned naval officer, who took up science fiction writing after he was permanently retired for disability when he suffered permanent scarring to his lungs from tuberculosis). This is from a letter he wrote to Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, who had sought his input on their novel "The Mote in God's Eye." "A captain of a ship can never have less than total responsibility and authority over his ship. If a captain disagrees with an admiral’s order-even if it’s the flagship-he makes his own decision, and accepts the consequences!.!.!.!even if it means that he is cashiered later or merely milled." "Damn it, gentlemen, the skipper of a ship is senior to everyone aboard no matter what his rank-even if it’s the flagship and the flag officer is aboard. He is a monarch, and nobody outranks him, ever. One skipper (Captain Hines) once ordered his own flag officer (Admiral Nulton) to get off the bridge and stay off, and to confine himself to the flag bridge and admiral’s quarters, not to go anywhere else in that ship-and made it stick. An admiral does not give orders to a skipper under his command; he gives them to the ship, by signal or other formal channels-but not to the skipper as a person." On his authority as captain of the Enterprise, Kirk COULD pull rank on Decker, on the Enterprise. He couldn't do it anywhere else, but he could do it there. Kirk is captain of the Enterprise, and concerning the Enterprise, his authority would be supreme unless or until he was formally relieved by Starfleet Command, or unless he was relieved by his first officer for cause (and the ship's doctor would be asked to provide evidence regarding his fitness for duty, if that’s the issue).
37:50 Funny thing: the "gold" shirts are actually green as well. But the combination of film stock and studio lights made them appear gold. The alternative shirts Kirk is wearing are made from a different material and they appear much closer to the real color (and pretty much how the original "gold" shirts looked like in reality). If you remember the "menagerie" episodes Kirks dress uniform there is also green.
Joanne Linville played the Romulan Commander. She passed not long ago but she has a daughter (Amy Rydell) who portrays her mother in a 'Fan Film' called 'Star Trek Continues' She looks and sounds just like her mother did!!
It's jumping ahead but you should consider watching an episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine called "Trials and Tribble-ations" (Season 5 Episode 6). It's a special episode made for Star Trek's 30th anniversary and connects directly to "The Trouble with Tribbles".
Fun fact: despite being a volcanic world, Vulcan has so few surface metal deposits that they actually had to expand into space to get hold of large quantities of metal. This is likely because the higher gravity plus the greater fluidity of the rocks caused the industrial metals to sink deeper than they did on Earth, placing them out of reach of early miners. You will note that the gong breaks under normal (for Vulcans anyway) muscle force, as well as the swords breaking. They are obviously made the traditional way, and haven’t been updated to modern metallurgical standards because of the importance of the ritual. Similar to how traditional Japanese katanas are made of folded metal because the original blacksmiths couldn’t get hold of any but poor quality iron and steel.
Jen, the now-iconic fight music in "Amok Time" is said to be heavily influenced by Igor Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring". I really enjoy your enthusiasm for the scores.

@@tyharris9994Actually, it was terrific acting. It made the episode.
I gotta say you have a big advantage over other reaction TH-camrs and that's your focus on the music... "chef's kiss*
It is also the remastered "Amok Time". Those long matte shots of the Vulcan terrain weren't there originally.
@@brodiesdad I own several of the CDs, like Doomsday Machine, etc.
I always thought it was a theramin. 😅
Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) was an amazing woman. Beautiful up until the day she left us. Rest In Power.
Also, "Trouble With Tribbles" is one of my absolute fav episodes from this era. Another one is "City on the Edge of Forever"
LOL, "I have thigh high boots, i should keep a knife in them," Tactical Jen on the case ✌
Great reactions, nerd outs and hilarious puns. WE...MUST...HAVE...MORE REACTIONS!
"Hey, it's eating my grain!"
Gotta love Pavel Chekov. A hopeful figure of peace in a time of cold war as an Eastern European character, Walter Koenig's accent becomes THE defining feature of Chekov.
Thankfully, it took over for his wig. Nuclear wessels.
In “The Trouble with Tribbles” you can see his missing finger when he enters the rec room with an armload of Tribbles.
Captain Kirk is also Canadian
@@LA_Commander William Shatner is Canadian. Captain Kirk was born in Iowa.
@@BEBruns I know BEB, I was only reacting to paulmohr319's comment that "Scotty is Canadian". We all know the character Scotty was Scottish, but James Doohan the actor was from Canada.
Yeah, Jen should know all 39 million Canadians.
Its a stone cold classic I had it as my ring tone for years 😆
"SPOCK WITH A GOATEE !!!!!!!!"
You made my day.
First time I've seen the word "subtle" applied to this show. But I know what you mean. :D
"Vulcans never lie," Spock lied. 🤣🤣🤣
Your evaluation of the music is a refreshing and unexpected addition to your reactions - or perhaps I've just not remembered. In any case, i love it.
One thing that nobody ever talks about is that they could only get away with the kiss if they were forced to do it against their will.
Fyi....the special effects were redone when Star Trek was released on Blue Ray dvds.
Enjoy your reactions
Thanks!
Must point out that was a forced kiss. No indication of romance between Kirk an Uhura across the series, or the movies.
Thank you for starting with "interesting tidbit" instead of "fun fact." It's just so much less tired.
@@jsharp3165 next I'll try "meaty morsel" hehehe

Also, she and Leonard Nimoy are the only two actors who were in the original pilot episode which was adapted into "The Managerie"
An interesting side note: Majel Barrett was also married to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry until his passing in 1991 at the age of 70.
Mrs. Roddenberry passed away in 2008.
Amok Time is such a good background story, such a cleaver idea. Some people think that the Doomsday Machine was built to take on the Borg.
That’s a great theory
The actress playing T'Ping is so-GORGEOUS !!! And-SEXY-too. There was a novel writtened about a Doomsday Machine fighting the Borg, can't recall the name of the novel tho.
The Doomsday Machine/Borg connection was explicitly the plot of a TNG novel called "Vendetta".
Are the Borg an intergalactic race tho? The doomsday machine came from outside our galaxy.
That deep bass guitar riff is called "Spock's Theme". It, and accompanying violin and cello pieces combine for Spock-themed episodes.
👍👍👍
I don't know if you noticed, but Mr. Kyle, who is the transporter officer in a bunch of episodes, was the communications officer of the Reliant in Wrath of Khan. He made it to Commander.
Spock's not lying to the Romulean Commander though...that's what makes the ending so beautiful.
Who else would watch Jen put on a fake goatee and do "Evil Jen" reactions to Star Trek?
OHHHHH HELL YEAH! Fifty thumbs up for this idea. I'll suggest full Mirror universe Spock cosplay for Evil Jen. She did like his shiny shirt after all, and has thigh high boots just begging for a knife.
Me
Interestingly, the shirts that read as gold in the filming of Star Trek TOS were actually of a light green color, which only FILMED gold. That's why Kirk's fancy trial uniform is that green color, as is his v-neck tunic. I, too, think he looks better in the green.
If you want to see Spock and Kirk in amazing clothes, please see "A Piece of The Action", a very funny episode from.the 2nd season (episode 17)
I was impressed, Jen, that you actually were able to hit the high note at the end of the opening credits. You can really get up there! :)

"Are you a doctor or aren't you?" is a great line from Kirk which plays upon McCoy's greatest meme.
So happy you're going on this journey with us - and very glad you're enjoying yourself :) Trek really has a lot to offer.
They played Star trek every day at 4pm on my local station when I was a lad, its where I fell in love with this series. Spock is the man. :)

The original gold uniforms were actually green but the material that was used looked gold under the lighting during filming, the captains green command tunic was what the gold uniforms were supposed to look like. For The Next Generation the colors were changed to Red for command and gold for operations
This became obvious during the Enterprise series 'Mirror' Universe episodes. Very intense green gold.
@@terrylandess6072 Yeah it also showed in the dress uniforms, I rember seeing the actual standard uniforms in the green color at The Smithsonian Institute I believe.

13:40 Spock is half-Vulcan, half-Human. His father, Sarek, is Vulcan, his mother, Amanda, is Human.
Comments:
Would love to see the bonus 6 episodes! 🥰
Well of course I want (and I'm sure many other want) to see more Star Trek! And not just 6 episodes -- there are so many great episodes of this series, and lots of fans to guide you to them.

This is from a letter he wrote to Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, who had sought his input on their novel "The Mote in God's Eye."
"A captain of a ship can never have less than total responsibility and authority over his ship. If a captain disagrees with an admiral’s order-even if it’s the flagship-he makes his own decision, and accepts the consequences!.!.!.!even if it means that he is cashiered later or merely milled."
"Damn it, gentlemen, the skipper of a ship is senior to everyone aboard no matter what his rank-even if it’s the flagship and the flag officer is aboard. An admiral does not give orders to a skipper under his command; he gives them to the ship, by signal or other formal channels-but not to the skipper as a person."
On his authority as captain of the Enterprise, Kirk COULD pull rank on Decker, on the Enterprise.
I love kirks reaction in the elevator when Spock says he has no memory of it
Bonus episodes. Bring. Yes.

Vulcans go through "Pon Farr" every seven years. Their "blood burns" and they have to mate.
What can I say about that Romulan Commander except... That girl was THRISTY!
