Good buy for sure, buying from a friend of a friend is the way to go this days.To many people want to take advantage of the inflated market right now to get the most out of their old clapped out quads. On top of covid there are no new sport quads on the dealer floors. The 21 Yamahas are not even here yet,the quad s delivered to the pros are probably 20 s or pre ordered..Soo the market is probably going to stay inflated longer and you just got to spend more time to get the best deal or just get lucky lol.

That's a great deal man!!! I just picked up a low hour, two owner Polaris Magnum 325 4x4 for $600 yesterday because the owner said it didn't run and didn't know what was wrong. I bought it sight unseen, got it home and realized that the push button on the start switch was corroded. Cleaned the contacts and it fired right up. Best deal I've personally gotten on a quad.

Mike this reminds me so much of my 400ex that I got for Christmas when I was 11. A guy was hard up for money and asked if he wanted the complete quad for $250. Didn’t run and it had stock front a arms with a lonestar extended rear axle. It had 250r front shocks that were blown out. Complete basket case but I was so excited about my first real sport quad. Me and my dad immediately went to work and punched it to a 426 with a stage 2 cam with head mods. We slapped some full flight a arms and she was wicked. All the other kids had much smaller, slower quads and I felt like a badass lol.

Just found your channel. Like what I am seeing. I stumbled on a 03 trx400ex a couple months ago, 800 bucks. Had been setting under a leanto and needed a touch of work. He talked himself down from 1000. Needed a battery, a gal of water drained from fuel tank (gas was off and water never made it in to the carb). Lights were missing and one tire don't hold air. Changed the fuel out and she fired right up. Never had a 400ex that would idol after setting for 5 min let alone for 2 years. Such a fun little toy. I do need a muffler for it. This one is a noise maker that has been modified to be even louder, and a set of handle bars but for the price...... Yea I. Good

I just bought a 2006 Suzuki quadsport off of an aquantance of mine for a thousand bucks. I think he was just done with the quad personally. He went to change the oil and the the oil was milky. Come to find out there was a recal on the clutch cover according to him, and after getting the new parts he said it was still leaking coolant into the oil. This quad if I have to guess, had less than 100hrs on it. When I drained the oil, it looked fine and had very little to no residue in it. My parts list is less that 200 for a batt, water pump kit, jet kit and air filter with a few other little things. Hope this attempt at a flip goes well. Thanks for your channel and your videos, you have given me many ideas.

Got it home, charged the battery over night, and it started right up in like 20 degree weather. I never replaced the battery on it. Went to jump and foot angled back too far. went wheelie high and landed on the rear wheels and slammed down. And boom couldn't bend down for 2 months. The most hurt I've ever been with out actually falling.

Literally bought a 300ex for 300$ came home adjusted valves put spark plug in it and changed fuel. Cranked right up. It doesn’t have right gas tank or front plastics but I’m restoring it anyways for my wife.

Definitely check the oil I just bought one for 1000 and the clutch was stuck together I took it apart and drained the oil and it was filled with gas ... it was stored with a full tank that slowly leaked into the crank case

The 400 ex power plant comes from and is arguably the best version the 4 decade long offering from honda. Air cooled 4 stroke perfection! The RFVC format engine has its flaws no doubt.
They are not fast /high revers the tick is annoying and the heat they can build in oil temp is always on your gear head mind as is melting down.
They can be ridden by even the most novice riders and not hurt or scare them with elbow ripping power. But with near perfect frame geometry and enough pep.in its step to satisfy experienced woods riders it's a joy in all terrian except massive sand dunes .
Slip on pipe, maybe slight airbox /filter mod. Rev box are standard swaps. But add a pumper carb and get it jetted correct and it's a new machine! It will make anybody smile!!!

900 is a great deal for that, I just got my hands on a recon 250 that needed some work for 200 bucks. Cleaned the carb and she was ready to roll.

Hey brother, love your videos man. I just worked on my neighbors 2001 400ex for him and rode it after I fixed it. It had been a long time since I rode by I grew up on dirt bikes and quads. Riding my neighbors 400ex gave me the itch to get one. So I found a bone stock 2007 raptor 350 (as you know same engine as warrior). I wasnt impressed with the performance of it so I started looking at aftermarket parts. They were so expensive I decided to find a 400cc+ used quad that already had a couple of bolt ons since I was going to end up ending that much on just parts for the raptor. So I gave my daughter the raptor and im teaching her on it. Then I found a 2001 400ex with a unknown size big bore kit, white brothers e-series full exhaust with 12 or 13 plates, and a k&n filter. I paid $2400 for it. It's pretty quick but from watching all your videos you say that the 400 ex wheelies like crazy. My neighbors and mine will lift up... mine more so than his. Are you dumping the clutch to get it to wheelie like that in this video? Mine will power wheelie but not much out of first gear with 15/38 sprockets. So im curious if ours aren't as powerful as they should be... so were you dumping the clutch to wheelie in this video?
