The Sierra is from the era when Ford and Mazda started to share components and engineering so you may find a number of Mazda components that are directly adaptable to the XR
I had my final cup of coffee to your video this morning. What a GREAT way to wake up! Thank you Nathan for the positive programming and the inspiration/confidence that you give me to build! Stay healthy out there.
Great XR content - love it! Suggest that you fit those top mounts because based on the looks of it, you do not have next to nothing in suspension droop travel. Imagine that you drive into a pot hole - suspension will clunk and potentially ruin your new shocks! Just fit a stock top bearing or a set of thrust bearing to eliminate coil binding. I run a Eibach trust bearing (2.5") on my XR4i with GAZ Gold and Combrake top mounts. My experience with Compbrake top mounts is two fold. They do what advertised and I have the adjustability I was after. But, one side had a loose spherical bearing seat that I had to shim out. Also, that spherical bearing "ball" does not rotate in the "race" along with the shock shaft after it is loaded - thus the need for stock bearing or thrust bearing set. I know that my set is of older generation and hope that the new ones are better. Looking forward for some driving impressions once you have the rear done too! Ride height looks good but double check your bump stop for clearance. Keep positive, really enjoy your content!
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I don’t want the front shocks to top out. I think I’m gonna go for the Burton Power rotateable top mounts that rotate for camber and caster. I like the idea of the thrust bearing
The stance didn’t look bad at all. I thought it was going to be much lower in the front based on the side by side of the strut vs coil over. How stiff did the front feel?
When all you need is a 'Well Done' from Wifetastic .... Would that life were so simple. She does look the part now even after all that BMW surgery. The XR4 not Wifetastic you understand 😊
Some are noisy. I’ve always found its pot luck. It’s bled so no air. I have an idea for the power steering so replacing that pump isn’t a priority right now.
If you are looking for another project to do, why not do an opposite project. Get a Ford F150 and turn it into a Crown Vic. Crown vic body on a F150 chassis. Would be interesting. I have seen a video where the body of a crown vic can be unbolted and lifted off without cutting it up.
Good to see and hear you back on the road of life mate ! No worries!! Plus got me a e36 and the square back v.w got me a lot of cutting welding ahead😁
Chop on!
@@NathansGarage yes a lot of that !

Another great vid, good filming from wifetastic, she’s awesome! Is that the power steering pump whining? ❤️ UK
Yeah. I seem to have a noisy one.
G'day Nathan,
Kevin here from Australia.
Another great video.
I love your work man your an inspiration.
✌ Peace.
Great video mate, I think your rear drivers side tail light needs a bit of attention though !!
Yeah I put LEDs in so maybe the reflector needs some love
I like the height in the front. Well done.
Great video Nathan. I liked the rake with the front end lower. Wifetastic did some wicked camerawork. Great to have you back.
Looks good lower Nathan. Good choice.

Looks mint mate, that tool with mutliple spanner bits is probably the best thing i have seen today!
I was very proud 😊
I still can’t get my head around the lack of rust , great presentation.
Thats why we pay the California tax! lol
Yup. Pinch welds? Perfect! Bloody expensive to live here though 😊
Keep up the excellent work Nathan!! Great commentary from Wifetastic too :D
Might be time for some lower profile tires once the rear is installed.
Yeah gonna have to have a play around with that stuff once ride height is sorted.
I do like the stock wheels. Yeah get some camber plates.
These are actually Mustang Ten Holes. They have less offset than the stock ones.
I like a ride height on the front it makes the tires fit the wheel gap
Like it Nath. Looks like my Z4 on Eibachs!
Great work pal 👍
Looking good Nathan. 👍🏼👍🏼
Lower than a rattle snakes belly, get it low. Looks hard as nails mate 👍

Haven’t driven it too far yet. The road around my house is really smooth. Full report should be in about a week

What about the power-steering pump? That sounds to be on its way out soon.

Nice Sierra greetings from the Netherlands

Most excellent
Great dude. Great channel.
Keep up the good work
Great job and video 👍👍🇨🇱
Love it nice job.
I wonder if a 4.6 from a mustang would fit
I would say yes, here in England people swap rover v8's. Those V8 are super wide just like the 4.6L.
The 5.0 small block Ford fits like a glove. The 4.6 is a bit big and heavy.
@@NathansGarage I think the only ford 4.6L I would swap is the DOHC version, weighs about 400lbs. its width is deff a problem now that I remember.
Good episode
What size are the wheels & tires?
Why would you want it higher? Just asking
Nathan s not mad Max? Don't hit the bumps to hard
All you need now is an RS body kit.
💵💵💵💵💵😊
The car is ugly unfortunately there are pretty versions of that car but that’s not one the British just try hard to make Hideous vehicles
