Hi any tips to help me and my brother we swapped a 2009 nissan maxima engine and put a 2 year older engine in it everything hooked up fine now the transmission not working right it was fine before the engine swap any help would be grateful
2011 or 2012 engine and the transmission not accelerating right barely getting power when the old engine was in we wasn't having no problem out the transmission

Hey so I have 228,000 miles on my 3.5se v6 coupe I wanna swap a new engine in. My only thing is like should I replace any other parts as well. For example like should I change all my seals, and transmission and shit like that??
(An answer is appreciated please) I just got a new engine dropped in my 05 Altima 3.5l . The guy doing it for me bolted the engine and transmission up and it lines up perfectly. But he’s kind of messing with the crank pulley because he was saying something about the flex plate going to mess with the transmission. I don’t get what he’s trying to tell me because it everything bolts up correctly... I should be fine right?
He shouldn’t be having a problem with the flex plate that’s the round plate that bolts to back of engine that bolts to the transmission so it turns the pump. If he’s having issues then he has the wrong flex plate on there. He should switch it from your original motor to the new motor
@@weldingjunkie okay okay so that’s what he’s doing. That makes sense! Also. The flex plate on the new engine was bent a little bit so we used the original one from my first engine. But one of the holes for the bolts are completely stripped in the flex plate. So one bolt is missing in it. It’s tight and place and has enough pressure... will I be fine ?
@@lowlifespore8993 no it won’t it’ll crack the flex plate with little vibration, I’ve seen many crack that way. He should really fix it the right way. He should really not of pulled the trans into the motor tight until the bolts in the flex plate were lined up. If he’s trying to turn the crank and the flex plate is binding then it’s not lined up properly or there is a fitment issue. Is that what’s happening it’s binding as he turns it?
Raiderz4life20 thanks for watching. The biggest thing is watch out for cooler and pressure lines getting stuck on the firewall. When you lower motor don’t go all the way down go almost all the way then muscle and pry the engine to fall into place- you might have to use a porta jack to lift up trans slightly once it lines up get the 4 bolts for flex plate and get them on. If it doesn’t line up don’t force it the bolts will bow the flex plate permenatly
Just bought a Altima with a blown engine. How long do you think it took you to pull the engine? Trying to figure out how much of a project I️ got myself into Thanks!
stereodesigner plan on a full day. It’s a project for sure. Took about a week for swap but I ran into issue. Important, make sure flex plate matches if you aren’t swapping and make sure there is no flex after it’s bolted up. Also watch out for pressure hoses in background etc
Paul Seward you’re welcome, are you doing a swap? They aren’t too bad to do. If you are my advise is to get the hanger that goes to the hoist so you can angle it front to back etc
Getting ready to pull out an engine on an 07 to service the timing chain, tenioners, and the rear main seal. Lifting from the top where would you say is the best point to hook up and pull out?
Kevin Francois we hooked up to the back of the intake bracket and then to the front where intake bolted on- I found a bolt that fit in and used eye hooks and it mounted up just fine and pulled. Just be carful if you bend intake bracket plate to bend it back before re install.
Chris Dimery Hi Chris what do you mean accessories? Like alternator, starter etc? Or lines? I put on ac pump on last. I switched just about everything before I dropped it. It’ll all fit
Pablo Hernández these motors are 4th digit Vin compatible so if you have a diff motor that what it has, you’ll have to re program the ecu it can be done tho
I pulled mine out already. Are you doing this on your car or for a custome? How much was that other motor? They are asking about almost 1000 around here. If your doing it for someone. How much was labor?
Christian Escobar yes it was for a customer, how many miles? for 1k ...I paid around $800 with 117k or so on it. I charged $2000 for labor. The first motor the customer gave me was bad. The first motor was smoking.
Welding Junkie ok wow i realized that if you take the wiper assembly off it gives allot of room back there by the firewall. By the way that's a good chunk of change you made on labor. I wish i had customers like that lol. From experience i think motor swaps are way harder than transmission swaps because of all the things you have to remove. What about you do you charge less for a tranny swap?
David Chaffey no you can pull the motor right out of the top. Unbolt the trans and flex plate bolts. Then remove motor mounts, exhaust and don’t forget the oil filter. Watch out for the power streerong pressure line and oil sending unit on the firewall side. If you need anymore help let me know
Jason Thank you! Ready to pull but not much room to slide engine to the left. Have Everything off except front & rear engine mounts. Hope to finish tomorrow! !
David Chaffey you’re almost there good job, yes only a few inches but it will come loose and up to left even with a few inches. You might have to muscle it out but it will 100% come out and up. We used a porta jack to munipulate it to put it back in. Sometimes the tranny and the engine won’t bolt up on the flex plate easy. I’ll tell you this it’s easier coming out then going in. Like I said the power steering presser line and oil sending might break.
SO DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HE FINISHED IT SO I CAN WATCH THE COMPLETION SO I CAN SEE THE ENDING WORK SO I CAN GET SOME THOUGHTS SO I CAN BE COMFORTABLE SO I WONT BE SO SCARED WORKING ON MY CAR SO I WONT PAY TO MUCH SO I CAN SAVE MONEY SO I CAN BUY MORE PARTS SO MY CAR CAN HAVE NEW PARTS SO I CAN FEEL SO SO SO HAPPY WITH MY VEHICLE.. 😀😀😀 I have 15 so how many can you get 😆😆
Hi I did finish it but I couldn’t film due to timing but the process is basically the same way going in as out. You’ll be able to handle it, it’s not too bad at all.
Huge thanks buddy. You did fantastic.

Do i have to take the axle out to pull the motor I have 04 maxima
It’ll make it easier to do because it bolts to back of motor but no you don’t but it’s tight
