    Are you planning on doing a video shooting light trails with the s20 ultra?

  • @ericglidden5207
    @ericglidden5207 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Brent! I just got an S20 today and noticed that you said the lens is stuck in 24mm. If you go to the pro camera, on the top you will see a square that has 3:4 in it. change that to "full" and it will give you a very different looking picture. not sure if this actually helps, but maybe give it a shot!

    • @BrentHall
      @BrentHall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that's not the same thing. I talked about it more in my pro mode video. That is only cropping in on the sensor, to whatever aspect ratio you're selecting. If you want a wider or longer focal length in pro mode, you need to attach a 3rd party lens.

    The Huawei P40 Pro plus has a 1/1.28 inch sensor with a 2.44µm pixel size. It uses RYYB instead of RGB sensors which apparently lets more light in. It is 50mp f/1.9 with 4 in 1 pixel binning and octaphase detection auto focus. It can allow crazy iso of up to 409000. It also has a 40mp f1.8 1/1.54 inch ultra wide sensor. And a 10x optical zoom (also using RYYB filter for night zoom possibility. It has 5 points of reflection inside that module to achieve 10x optical). Plus a 3x optical too for medium range optical zoom. Then 20x and 100x hybrid zoom.

    4:24 should've changed the aspect ratio to 16:9. Would've made it bigger. ?

    • @BrentHall
      @BrentHall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah. It'll just crop the original ratio and zoom in to fill the frame.

    I hope by now you have gotten a nice decent gimble, for astro stuff I would think (have not done much astro myself but) the earth rotation sync option on some motorised gimbals for telescope type stuff or camera tripods might actually go a long way into getting the shot you are after here.

    I want to try this so badly. The 2 main problem is that 1st-ly I have S20 (not ultra) but its not that big issue as i can borrow my father's phone which is Iphone 11 which i feel would be better. But the issue is 2nd that I live in city where there's a lot of light pollution so i doubt i would be able to get the similar results:( Additionally I am a teenager so won't get permission to go out at midnight to a plain region where there's just open feild which is like many KM away, all i can do is take photos my balcony :( Will try this today, hopefully i get a decent enough photo of mesmerizing milkyway galaxy.

    This would have been possible even on the Galaxy S9. The latest update to Android 10 was supposed to unlock the full Pro mode potential (30s shutter and 3200 ISO) but.. it didnt?
    Even some budget phones allow for 30 seconds shutter speed and maybe even higher ISO than 3200.
