So if you buy whatever monolock case it comes with a monolock plate as well? So then you can attach to any rear rack? Or you can attach it a givi monolock rear rack? Looking for the SR1195 rack but confused on where I am getting the plate from? Do I get the plate when I buy any Givi Monolock case or when I buy the rear SR1195 rear rack system?
The main thing is the locking mechanism. Many plastic locking mechanism won't work after 5 years of use. My next top box will be with metal locking and fastening mechanisms.
If seen the v47 last week, and looks great. But i like the 52 trekker also. I drive a bmw k75rt, but on that type are only an 22 liter top standard. But it could be nice if you, maybe in subtitels, the metric weiths for the other viewers. But it was/is a great help.
@revzilla Is Givi planning on offering liners for the V40 cases again? They've been discontinued as far as I can tell. If not, can you recommend an alternate liner bag?
I have a Givi 52 liter Trekker and it is a nice case except, and this is a BIG except, for having the dumbest latch system ever devised. It takes two steps to latch it as you have to first push in the top and then push in the bottom. It also requires the key as it can’t be operated without the key. So, if you fire up your bike and them remember you need the ear plugs in your trunk, and you have your bike and case keys on the same key ring as most of us do, you have to shut off the bike, remove the keys, open and then close the case, take the keys back to the ignition and start the bike again. Just stupid. Even though I like the case otherwise, this is a constant PITA when on longer rides and making several stops a day where you need to access the top case. The case should be like my BMW cases and latch and unlatch without the need to lock or use a key. Locking should be optional as on most rides there is no need to lock the case during the ride, only at night at a hotel or such. If I had known how the Givi latching system worked, I would not have bought this case. One of the downsides of buying things online sight unseen.
Thanks for the input I am shopping them now. I was trying to support this video maker buying through him but the same product is almost 100 dollars less on a different site.

I have had the Givi Maxia top case for about 4 years. I love it! I'm glad it locks to keep my stuff secure when I go in for lunch or to make a pit stop. The solution to your "problem" is to simply remove the Givi key from your bike's key fob. Then when you eff up and have to access the top case, you don't have to turn your bike off!
@@ski3435 Having to work around a stupid design only confirms how stupid the design is. I am not sure who at Givi designed their latching system, but they weren’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Apparently the company online support is unaware that their Products have two Very Different Mount Plates ..... You cannot simply switch from yer Smaller case to larger for a long trip . Seems they want to sell more mounts instead of integrating their own products better .... There's actually no need for two systems . Both mounts have very similar foot print ...... Short sighted ... Online customer service FB was very rude indeed . Ignorant of the two systems till image of both were presented to them . Choose yer cases wisely ... You can't have a smaller case for daily use and easily switch to a larger case on the weekend .... Hummm .
I have just bought a v47nn Givi topbox,it's beautiful the quality is amazing.
I use a V56NN (with break lights) top, and V37 sides, and I love it...
I have the V47 on my Maxi-scooter and love it. Plenty of space as well as portable.

Can a 15.6 inch laptop in a typical laptop backpack fit in the V46 or V47 top case?
Yes, should be able to fit just fine.
