      at 11:30 when he explain how it move around, what stop the rotor to move backward, how does the magnetic field know to move it in a certain direction? rotor teeth have the same polarisation and the stator have the oposite polarisation wich is why it move i get that much but why in the direction it is going?

    • @ethanjennings6442
      @ethanjennings6442 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sebastienparent4606here are two sets of coils in the stator that are controlled independently (each controlled by its own pair of wires, A and B). Each pair can be given a positive or negative voltage. Positive voltage will make the coils in the set have poles facing one way and negative voltage flips them. In the basic wave drive version, only one set of coils is energized at once, so there are 4 possible "states" which I'll call A+, B+, A-, B-.
      While in the state A+, the rotor can either rotate clockwise into B+ or counterclockwise into B-. So you can control the direction just by the order that's energized. A+, B+, A-, B- for clockwise and backwards (A+, B- A-, B+) for counter clockwise.
