Clearing A NIGHTMARE Bramble Patch - COVERED The Front of A House

  • I run a gardening company, where we do lawn mowing, hedge cutting and general garden maintenance. I use a roller mower when mowing the lawns, to mow stripes in to the lawn, in the UK. Cutting grass and hedge trimming in Amazing gardens. I usually do the gardening with an assistant gardener.
    In this garden we clear a nightmare bramble patch, covering the front of a house.
    I often go back to the same gardens, generally every 2 weeks. For which I have created seperate playlists for. I use an estate car to carry all my equipment to go to different gardens, I use a roller lawn mower, combination tool for strimming and hedge cutting and various hand tools like a fork and spade for all the other jobs.

    Hi Guys
    I been watching your channel for a few weeks now, think I done most them. I got a couple of tips if you think they may be of help. Number one: have a look at the Darlec leaf grabber, they are as cheap as chips, I use them for everything I have to pick up, it picks up far more than you can ever pick up by hand in one go, and more importantly NO bending over. Number two: if you get a run of the mill plastic dustbin, and drill some holes around near the base and some near the top, the following happens; when you put in a garden waste bag (which fits perfectly) in as the weight of the waste goes in it pushes the air out of the bottom, which means you can get twice as much in. Then when you go to left it out, the air is forced out of the top holes and it comes out easy. Just a couple of thoughts 👍

      Hi, thanks for the tips. I have been wondering about the picking up of leaves. especially with leaf season round the corner. Ill take a look at that, could be a great thing to try from a pro! Definitely a killer suggestion on the bin, the only constraint I have is that I work out of an old Astra Estate and I would struggle to fit that in... Ill surely show some videos in the future of the set up I have and the gear... really appreciate the time you have taken to carefully and considerately comment.

      @@CityGardener thanks for the considered reply, you are going to have to get yourself a van, or put the bin on the front seat and put your “helper” in the bin......problem sorted 🤪😂

    Certainly wouldn’t be doing that wearing shorts.
    I chopped some 9’ high and 15’ deep, just went in with my chainsaw as a lot had stems 1” thick waited for some fresh leaves to appear then glyphosate.

    I did something similar but alot more serious, I cut through a copper gas pipe coming from the meter fixed to the house wall with gas rushing out. I was in panic I quickly turned the supply off, I wouldn't mind I had a plywood board protecting the pipe and wire's but it dropped down right at the moment I approached it with hedge trimmer.

    I’ve got a bramble problem myself, garden is neglected at the moment. I want to get a handle on it. How do you stop them coming back?

    • @CityGardener
      @CityGardener  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to go through thoroughly & dig out every single root, or pull them out, whatever technique works best

    I have some sympathy with that bramble problem. Interesting that you used a long reach hedge trimmer to hack into it. I have one of those but have not used it. I tend to cut using hand shears and a small hedge trimmer. I find strimmer's and bush cutters harder to handle but had not thought of using a long reach cutter. I may borrow your method. :)
    PS - where is the time lapse music? I miss it. :)
