Bit of a barbarian way to take the crank off but it works. A proper crank extractor will pop those off no issue. Most LBS should have them in stock and it's a little less brutal haha
Hi Dean. I've got the same exact same ebike as in your video. As you will no this ebike can be used with throttle only. Do you no a way I can unrestrict the motor so when using thorttle only I get the full use of the motor instead of it cutting out at 20-21mph? Cheers 👍
Sorry wish I could help from experience but sold mine a few years back now. Is there nothing via searches on Google or TH-cam? Hope you get some help elsewhere, drop in a link if you find it please to help others.
My bottom bracket doesn't appear to be concave like that so the sensor has nothing to sit inside of. Should I get the Kt-D21l sensor instead or just cable tie it in place so that the outer part doesn't move around when I pedal?
I have the same PAS for my ebike. some of the splines/teeth that grip crank broke off after ‘bout a year of heavy use. PAS still works, but should I replace for safety reasons? Great video. /Bklyn👑
Thanks ! As long as it is fixed in a position, you should be fine. For the cost, it may be a good idea to get the backup for when / if you get an issue.
Excellent video. I have been trying to find a video like this on this style of PAS, like the one I just received. All the other videos I have found have a two piece system that uses a ring with magnets, how does this style work without that magent ring?
Hello It does work by magnetic interaction between the crank and the sensor. Been a long while but I think the magnets are incorporated into the black plastic ring. Glad it has helped you that is all I hope my videos do, help someone somewhere. Thanks Dean
Hi, A bit late to the party lol. There are PAS sensors with separate poll magnets, And sensors with integrated magnets like this one. Then you have different connectors and different style sensors.. I digress but that's the basics.
Hello I have some questions about the pas sensor. Do you realize any differences between the new and the old one such as sensitivity, cut in speed and so on?
@@DeanAllen thank you for the quick reply. Do you know anyway to make the pas sensor response quicker and more sensitive? My current one needs to rotate the left pedal about 3/4 ( 270 degree) in order to make the power assist starts but I want to make the response quicker.
@@spoon3100 I've recent bought same as in video 12 magnet from Amazon for €20 tbh it works as a throttle I've to put the PAS down as required. If you're looking for something super quick and constant power try that PAS sensor. I'm trying to put the sensitivity down but it hasn't worked so far, I've sm26 same bike
Buenas, tengo un problema y a ver si me puede ayudar. Bicicleta marca error 70 y en manual dice que es debido a sensor de pedaleo. Cual lo he cambiado pero sigue dando el mismo error. Que me sugiere??
Hello Sorry I wish I could help, but no expert in this field unfortunately. It may be correct that you needed to change your sensor ? We're you have any issue before the error code came up, for example the motor was not kicking in all the time? Although you may have changed to another sensor, was it exactly the same as previous,it maybe the as different, the error code will not clear. Do you still have an issue with the motor kicking in ? Sorry to not be of more help. You may to Google and look for Forum on specific bike and code 70 issues.
I could feel the bike, not reacting to input through peddles, then suddenly would engage into motor driving the rear wheel again. It was so cheap, and pretty easy to do, it was always worth trying.
@@DeanAllen Thanks very much Dean for reply most helpful I'll get one of those sensors mine is also loose and wonky unfortunately it won't fix my issue. Cheers.
The original would cut in and out as I peddled, first thought it was a motor issue, so very relieved to know it was a very cheap sensor instead. Thanks, Deano
@@DeanAllen, the reason I'm asking is because me bike had the identical symptoms like your's, but now it's completely dead. And I have no errors on the screen. Thanks for answering me!.
If at the time I had one I would have, but if stating the obvious is your thing, go forth my friend and spread the word ! Everyone will Love you for it I am sure 👍
Did not have one, do not usually work on bikes ( see motorcycle vids) and my mission was to change the sensor, mission accomplished. I guess you knew the answer though ?
No, the original sensor on the bike, started cutting in and out but when not working the motor stopped cutting in. Once I put this new one on, all was good, instantly, not faster, just all working like it should.
I replaced with sensor from PC fan couple of times now - works fine :D BUT, what if there is no PAS input on controller? I figured out a way around that, check out if interested -> th-cam.com/video/cs5BmaVUED4/w-d-xo.html
Hello I have tried to search under Kt-v6 but nothing anymore on ebay. Looking at the pic, I would estimate that central hole is around 22mm - 25 mm but the other fanned plastic parts are designed to move to give a tight fit anyway. Sorry I cant be of more help, did you try finding the exact same part I had and asking for dimensions from the seller?
Thanks for wiring tip saved me a lot of head scratching Dean
Glad to be of help Kevin !
A square taper crank removal tool would be a good idea
There goes the crank bearing

You are not wrong, when you don't have the right tool, adapt, but as you say, perhaps best to get the right thing first.....otherwise Hammer Time !!!

Hello I have some questions about the pas sensor.
Do you realize any differences between the new and the old one such as sensitivity, cut in speed and so on?
No not really, not with this bike. I realised the old one was beginning to cut in and out. Once I swapped there was no issues at all.

I heard if you cliped the sensor wire it will go as fast as the motor can not restricted to 25k
Not sure with my bike at the time. It just worked as it should with the new sensor.
I never got round to making it faster.

Can it run without the sensor and go faster so it will be de-restricted
On my bike, without the sensor, the motor would not kick in.
What was wrong with your bike why you had to change the sensor ? I'm having speed issues the bike's going way too fast and i don't know whats wrong.

No worries George, hopefully that is the issue and you can find the same sensor or very similar to resolve the issue. Good Luck mate !
whats the diameter of the hole in the sensor dean,i need 25mm
This is hitting the crank arm. Use the right tools. Our just don't it Crank arms very tight. Use an extraction tool.

A comical way to remove the crank arm
Why not a crank puller?

Just Happy it helped !
Best to use head shrink
