All these ebike manufacturers should make pedal assist that you don’t have to remove the crank pedal. It’s a freakin worse thing I’ve ever worked on bicycles.

I found out what was wrong with mine! I had it with the arrows going in the correct direction but it wouldn’t work- then I reversed the magnetic ring and backpedaled, then it started working. So now with both the sensor and the ring reversed it’s working!

Mine came with disk that pulls apart and uses a lock ring that mounts on the outside groove to hold it together so you don't have to take off the crank! i found out the hard way after i tookoff the crank, pushed it on and it splilt in two...lol

WARNING ⚠️ make sure you have a gap in between your crank arm and the magnet disc. You can break your bottom bracket If you don't have a gap. VERY IMPORTANT.

    Fantastic video, thankyou so much!!!
Funny how all the vids ive seen on installing a rear hub motor kit don't seem to mention anything at all about how to install the p.a.s sensor.
I've watched a load and it made me totally forget all about this important part of the full kits installation.
Hopefully I'll be fitting my Voilamart 1500w 48v rear hub kit tommorow (if a few more little things im waiting on delivery turn up?!?)
Brilliant video, sooo appreciated as I'd started to get worried about how to fit the p.a.s.

Would never have had the foresight/confidence to do it myself, without your help. But, the hours of pleasure I have had since doing it myself, with your expert guidance, deserve a very special THANK YOU, at the very least. Keep up the good work!

Danke .

The problem my bike shop said is that my Shimano crank is tapered and the PAS takes up room so that my crank are will not slide back on all the way, I can tighten the bolt but the crank is not seated all the way and the bike shop said it will eventually wear out the crank arm since it is not tightly seated. Is there a PAS system that will work in this case?

I too am going to be building a bike with my brother as something of a present, and thought I should answer your question. What it does, is when you pedal on your bike, it will start to engage the motor to assist you while you ride. That way you don't have to just hold a thumb/twist throttle to get the motor running. It is absolutely worth the fix if you intend on doing *any* pedaling. It just makes it so much more enjoyable.
      Hope that helps. Good luck.
