    In vaganova we have a pretty name for these. They are degage turns. And then we call the thing everyone else calls a degage a jete.😂 we had a teacher that used a different style at my studio once and everyone was so confused...

    Im french canadian and since I learned all my training in french, I had never heard the term lame duck. We always called it posé piqué since you step down (posé) and then do the same movement as in a piqué, but en dehors. The more you know :)

    Thank you so much for this! It's nice because a lot of times it's stuff I know, but watching your videos reminds me of a detail I've forgotten about for a little while or haven't focused enough on, and helps me get back on track. Can't wait to practice lame ducks again now :)

    As usual so helpful with all your corrections. I take a daily class with your follow alone advance barre and it’s just great. I’ve done the center as well. Turns are always a problem and this video helps a great deal. I would like to request a full list of all the turns in ballet if it’s possible. Thanks!!

I also love how to listen to video requests, and I have been asking for this video. Thank you so much! My suggestions for other steps would be grande jete, Pirouettes en pointe, fouttes, and grande adagio.

    Is there a way to slim down muscular thighs? I would appreciate tips from anyone. Thanks!❤️

    • @MsAerosensa
      @MsAerosensa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anna Ackerman I’m assuming there’s not much body fat to burn on your thighs, then the answer is no.
      There are conditions under which muscles atrophy (hospitalization, starvation), but you won’t be able to dance on your legs then.
      The only caveat is that sometimes dancers use their quads more than they need to to compensate for weak adductor muscles.

    • @Livelovecherishelife
      @Livelovecherishelife 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This may be a very odd tip but I find that walking lunges tend to slim my legs down. My thighs are quite muscular too and I always find that walking lunges (where you step into a deep lunge, then stand and step out on the other foot, and keep going for as many as you like. I normally do 10) leave my legs feeling just as strong but not as bulky. Hope this helps :)
