100% recommend buying a diffuser, snapping on a lofi hip hop playlist, and adding dimmers to your lights, and you will be amazed at how your space feels.
You don’t need to buy expensive reed diffusers. The best ingredients for reed diffusers are vodka (or other strong alcohol with no/little scent) and one natural oil/essence of your choice eg pure vanilla oil. The alcohol is the means to make the oil/essence airborne and not overpowering. I strongly suggest keep the oil/essence simple by using an unadulterated form ie not a mix.
I just bought a house and have been watching SO many different creators and videos about interior design. Although I have been enjoying them, you are my only sub and here are the reasons why: 1. You are realistic with your advice. Not everyone can afford expensive furniture and you don’t talk down on going a cheaper route. 2. You don’t talk down on specific styles or designs. 3. You give reasons for things you aren’t super fond of rather than simply saying “I just don’t like it so don’t do it” 4. You are very mindful of new and beginner designers 5. You are helpful and don’t claim to know more than others Thank you so much ❤
Best comment! 👍👍👍 It sums up everything I'd like to express. Great video, down-to-earth and practical advice. This channel is quite a find. Thank you so much. ❤
Stand in the corners of your room and take a picture and then compare it to the magazine photo you want to emulate. A lot of the "differences" between the two rooms has to do with lighting, but also with clutter. How many times has a friend stopped by unexpectedly and you're standing at the door looking at them and thinking "Crap, why didn't I tidy up today?" You live with the clutter for so long you don't even see it anymore.
The other thing is that the magazine photo doesn’t have things needed for everyday living. Like a picture of a bathroom counter would have flowers and rolled towels, but where are the toothbrushes? The hand soap? I don’t think we should compare our living spaces to places that aren’t lived in.
@@rashelkeeley6712 My trick is to buy hand soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste et cetera in colours that match the room decoration (in my case blue and green). You will still have "clutter" out on the counter, but it looks less messy if everything (or as much as possible) fits within the same colour scheme.
Top notch content! There is a lot of content clutter on this topic. It’s hard to find useful advice that doesn’t involve trends and spending unnecessary money. Very good work 👍🏻
Lighting and paint colors go hand in hand. Make sure the color temperature of your light bulb enhances your wall color. Have a cooler bulb going with your pale blue walls. A warmer bulb with your yellow toned walls. Also be mindful of your window covering if light filters though and hits your walls. White sheers are fine but if you have a color, that color will cast on to your wall color and can change it dramatically.
That furnishing schedule/planning template idea is BRILLIANT! Would probably work much better for me than the hundreds of unorganized bookmarks and mess of random Pinterest saves I have currently.
I really appreciate your advice to prioritize ambiance over aesthetic. So much of the design world, and minimalist influencer's homes lack warmth and cleanliness combined with coziness. So many designs feel austere and cold. The room you showed along with that tip was a gorgeous example of an inviting space. My parents 1960s and 70s home had an eclectic style, that had a combination of naturals and bright pops of every color. Yellows, orange, red, blue, green in the living room, in mostly small pops. Sofas eith woven fabics with multicolored theeads. Pieces or books with colorful jackets could be added without concern for the color scheme, but because the book's content was valuable, or the item was valued or beautiful, not because of its color! Yet it all worked, without feeling visually cluttered. I'm going to search to see if you have a video on color. I don't want to feel limited by choosing only a few colors in a color scheme. Your thought on this ecoectic color approach, please? Thank you for the video.
Thank you for the budget friendly tips, Reynard. Very helpful and practical advice indeed. I would also suggest thrifting from vintage shops, markets and estate sales 😊
Love your videos. Do you have any notes on what to do with flooring in a house for example having carpet up the stairs, wood on ground floor and a slightly different type of flooring in the bedrooms. I'm struggling on how to bring it all together without using the same flooring throughout the house
I deep clean my home twice a month and this makes our home smell nice and not depend on those expensive scented candles or diffusers. I find these smells harsh in my nose tbh. 😅 Clean your home!
I like watching these home renovation videos in a pronogiraffic way. I know I will never be able to afford a house like this, but just looking at it calms my nerves and makes me feel good, just like pronogiraffs.
Reverse searching was eye opener! What a great tip! Also the fragrances from Muji... are those usable on Vitruvi diffusers or are they meant to be used differently? Keep up these phenomenal videos!
Man, I'm feeling the pain. Been looking through these nice pinterest only to find those looks cost at least $3000 per room and much more if you're looking at the actual designer items.
Yes, I'd like to use floor planner software, too, for my open floor plan that must hold my large, L- shaped desk and file cabinets that overwhelm the space. Is there any freeware floor plan software that works well, please?
I painted my office and chose curtains based on the light bouncing from my neighbor's red house. Then they repainted their house a soft yellow. At least I tried.
I love your videos, they've been so helpful with planning my new apartment. Is it possible to get the template you use on notion for tracking? It looks great
Nothing kills a mood like lots of clutter! Oh ,and dust too. I really can't get past dirty clothes on the floor by the front door. Dirty dishes and clutter in the kitchen and bathroom are just gross! Yuk. Bye-bye😢
Reynard - you seem to be heavily influenced by by japandi style. Can you let us know how that occurred - ie did you spent time in Japan or Scandinavia?
Keep an eye out around the end of the month people put furniture on the curb or will give it away on Craigslist or Next Door in the US. I just got a Mid Century Modern console free because someone was moving. It was on my mom's street. It's beautiful but old and funky so most people don't want it.
Scent diffusers with fake perfume are nauseating, like IKEA's fake flowers and those blue toiletflushers. Worst recommendation possible. Otherwise I see a lot of the same techniques of home decor as we use in Denmark and maybe Feng Shui, which I don't know much about.

My diffusor from walmart is so weak i cant tell its there until im inches away from it

@@danatebrinke7951 thank you - great idea, and affordable.
For me i have never cared enough about how a room looks until i was about 25
I leveled up simply by decluttering. My home looks lovely now.

The ‘Upbeat Chill’ playlist on Spotify is perfect for an upbeat vibe in your house!
Appreciate the reminder to sell your old stuff rather than dump❤
I am a college student on a budget and just got my first apartment. This was extremely helpful, realistic, yet informational! Thanks so much Reynard!
Ur voice is so calming and well spoken . U learn a lot in decoration and get a good host .

I loved how calming your voice is. Thank you for the great tips!
Your videos are the most meaningful in TH-cam land.
I really appreciate how calm and relaxing your content is. 🙏🏼
I agree with decorating with free stuff and free plants
some good points- shopping your own stuff and decluttering stuff you will not use are great tips.
Would DEFINITELY go to a bossa nova club 🕺💃
I always put on bossa nova when making breakfast and making coffee. Really changes the mood for the better.
Thank you for the budget friendly tips, Reynard. Very helpful and practical advice indeed. I would also suggest thrifting from vintage shops, markets and estate sales 😊
I absolutely love this video as it gives realistic advice! Thank you so much

That’s why I love coffee ☕️
Reverse searching was eye opener! What a great tip! Also the fragrances from Muji... are those usable on Vitruvi diffusers or are they meant to be used differently? Keep up these phenomenal videos!
The Muji one is a reed diffuser, so not meant to be used with stone diffusers like the Vitruvi, you'll need essential oils for that.
Man, I'm feeling the pain. Been looking through these nice pinterest only to find those looks cost at least $3000 per room and much more if you're looking at the actual designer items.
Thanks for your vid. You come across as an intelligent and modest man.
I LOVE your style, it took me a while to find your videos but I’m so glad I did. Could you share what software did you use in 4:27 and 8:32?
Milanote and Magicplan
Did you find out what software is used?
What floor planner software would you recommend?
Yes, I'd like to use floor planner software, too, for my open floor plan that must hold my large, L- shaped desk and file cabinets that overwhelm the space. Is there any freeware floor plan software that works well, please?
the soft jazz in the nightclub 😂
i like the examples you give and how accessible your advice is. thanks reynard!
I totally agree with you.Great tips.
Omg your takes are just spot on!! Thanks for sharing ❤

I painted my office and chose curtains based on the light bouncing from my neighbor's red house. Then they repainted their house a soft yellow. At least I tried.
Can you leave a link for the green scent you mentioned? Thank you. Quality video.
I love bosa nova at night clubs
I love your videos, they've been so helpful with planning my new apartment. Is it possible to get the template you use on notion for tracking? It looks great
It’s on his website under free resources
wow just wow so so insightful
Great tips! I’d love some help with my home office, I’m struggling with the layout.
Reynard - Where do you get the "green" fragrance you refer to?
Can you recommend a free floor planning app or software that is easy to use?
Nothing kills a mood like lots of clutter! Oh ,and dust too. I really can't get past dirty clothes on the floor by the front door. Dirty dishes and clutter in the kitchen and bathroom are just gross! Yuk. Bye-bye😢
Thank you for another awesome video!!

What is the program to save the pages and schedule ?
Thank you for such good content! Love it 😊
What floorplan software are you using at 8:55?
at 8:30 you see magicplan app, I guess
Awesome tips❤
Are there are particular brands of reed diffusers you recommend?
what software is that? 4:26
Would love to try this approach of preparation, but $79 is my budget for the furniture itself. :(

what software is that at 8:32?
I’m a hoarder so last tip is extremely difficult to follow 😅😅😅
4:20 What is this program called?

Ne yapsam olmuyor, evim çok küçük. Küçük olması bahane değil biliyorum ama her şey ya fazla duruyor ya da koyu :(
