I've always had a disco ball and a Chewbacca figure in every car I've owned, so my sim rig has a little disco ball under my screen and a Chewbacca figure on my wheel base. Absolutely neccessary accessories and also under $25
Besides a cup holder, I have a rear view mirror attached to the corner of my screen so I can see if anyone is coming up from behind. It avoids me getting startled lol.

Lumbar support pillow has been the most valuable purchase in my entire rig and also less than $25! Can’t recommend people get one enough, I never realized what I was missing until I got one.
Best thing I've found is a cheap USB fan (which was under your $25 budget) pointed at my face, especially in VR and open wheelers it makes such a difference to immersion. Great video, I like the unusual topics you cover in your clips.
Thanks Daniel! The cable velcros are smart, i havent seen those before! Last year i bought a "wind sim", and its one of the best things when it gets hot in the sim.. So the fan option you mention is really a good and cheap choice!
Those velcro cable ties work great for inside the PC management too. When I built mine the other year that's all I used to keep everything tidy. Did a mix of black & gray ones just from Walmart, but I know most online retailers have them nowadays in many colors to match whatever you're using them for.
I’m sure you’re going to love it. It’s something we even use on race car steering wheels that don’t have the best grip. I remember the old Audi steering wheel and even the first version of the AMG GT3 had Alcantara grip and it was terrible. We had to wrap it in tennis grip.
Tennis overgrips are massively underrated! Not only do they improve grip, but they also makes it so that you don't wear out the rubber or leather of the steering wheel you're using it on!
I refused to pay the prices for those cable clips, so I just wedge one of the soft velcro ties behind a wire and stuff it into the T slot. works really well, then you just bundle the other cables into the rest of the velcro loop
I don't use racing socks, but gymnast shoes like Rucanor Bonn, which have a rubberized underside for grip and are just stiff enough to feel like a shoes, but flexible and breathable enough to not have cramped and sweaty feet.
Your studio / race room is awesome Daniel, thanks for sharing. My tip for a very cheap and helpfull tool is a magnetic pen when you work on a Alu profile rig.
Tennis overgrip tape completely transformed my Formula V2 alcantara wheel, I was thinking about selling but now it's amazing and I don't have to wear gloves.
That’s awesome to hear. I personally still like to wear gloves even over a nice grippy wheel. I still have a little bit of sweat because you’re constantly holding the wheel. In tennis, you have some brakes in between round to wipe your hands. In racing, you don’t really have that chance to wipe your hands, so I still love to wear gloves to give that extra grip
Guilty of the barefoot driving myself… although I don’t actually drive in real life, so it’s hard to apply the difference between real-world road car and sim there. The wind sim does not have to be expensive to be integrated with a rig setup; a bit of electronics knowledge and following tutorials can get you a speed-sensitive setup using computer fans and an Arduino to control them. All up it might be a bit more than $25, but not much more if you look online. But mostly I commented to echo the recommendation for the super clamps; I have a few on my rig for equipment like lights and button boxes. There are all sorts of adapters for the 1/8” or 3/16” threads, for example my custom button box was previously on a VESA mount (the same pattern as used on monitors). So I’m using an adapter from that pattern down to the thread, then a solid arm back to the clamp in beside the wheel. One other thing to note is that depending on their headset setup, people may want a second audio extension cable to run lines for both the headphones and the mic. Or if their headset and sound card uses the special TRRS connector (like you see on earbuds for mobile phones with a built-in mic) in to put both over one connection, that the audio extension cable supports that; otherwise, their mic may be cut off.
I bought 100ft of cable management sleeving for my cables. Made it look like a cars wiring harness. Then got my hands on some thick L shaped shelving bracket...I've got a GT Omega Art. Used the shelving brackets as bracing for the steering deck. Also serves as mounting points for button boxes and what not.
Headphone cable management ideia: I have bought a VR Pulley system and used it to hold my headphone cable. It doesnt look the prettiest the way I set it up but Oh boy does it work wonders! I just put them on and the cable "vanishes" And as a bonus it saves the cable if i accidentally pull it somehow Great Video!
All great ideas Daniel. Like you, I have OCD about cables and cable management. In addition to the great cable clips you highlighted, I also went with cable management sleeves - one for the cables going to the PC and another for all the power cables that terminate into a cable management box that holds the power strip/surge protector. All of these available for $25 or less. Keep the great content coming!
@@danielmorad yes I bought the optional Ram mount when I got the PSP, but it cost more than $25 because it’s longer. The short or medium length ones are cheaper and can be had for around $25, especially if you get the non-Ram branded clones. They’re super useful.
Another great video Daniel. Always entertaining. I have to go with shoes. to me, the best part of sim racing is heel -toeing(?). Our mutual friend needs some of those cable ties. He's got a rats nest of cables.
I've seen a few setups (both sim & real) with the tennis/baseball bat grip tape or even like a KT tape wrapped around the wheels and have always thought it looked super badass especially once it starts to get worn down a bit, like it tells a story. I've thought about doing a DIY sequential shifter and/or handbrake and using a wooden hatchet or hammer handle or part of a hockey or field hockey stick for it just to see how it wears & patinas over years of use it'd probably be so cool looking.
My wind sim with 300+ CFM fans cost me $10 off brand Arduino 2x $38 Fans, $30 printed wind straighteners, $20 power cord. You can get away with one fan and just the Arduino board.

@diogofaria231 just at the end. That's the impression I get with all his videos look what I've got. This video was a pointless calling them sim racing must haves 😅 most people don't use a wired headset most don't stream and most don't own a Rolex.
