I so look forward to your videos, not only because you bring attention to such great mods, but also because you always manage to make me laugh and smile! You mentioned how with the newest mods it seems like the game not only looks better but also seems to run better, and I do think this is true. Many mod authors have been creating mods for about a decade now, and in that time they have learned a lot about how to get the most out of the old creation engine, and how to design mods that actually do look and run better. Having to clean mods is not such a common event now, and quite a few are made to be so compatible that fewer patches are needed. Of course, there are exceptions ( . . . . lux & Northern Roads . . . ahem!) I also use Azurite Weathers after discovering it a couple of years ago. It gives me the most incredible sunrises and sunsets that I have ever seen in my game. You might want to try Community Shaders, perhaps in a different profile. I just switched for my new load over, and I am truly impressed. There are a LOT of very good additions for it now, including parallax effects, grass lighting and complex, shadows, and even particle lights! The author of Azurite Weathers has a new version made to work with Community Shaders, and I added Dareni's Reshade on top. The only time I really noticed a difference from an enb is in the light of midday, where the shadows are at their less, but this also happens in the real world ( . . . remember that place???) My personal opinion is that Lux even looks better with this setup. The main reason I switched was that even with a 6800xt with 16gb of vram I would drop to 40 or less fps in so many places when using an enb. But now I very seldom go below 60 and am usually much higher, even into over 100fps sometimes. And the visuals are soooo damn close! That allows me to use parallax and other textures, along with larger cities and more animation mods without affecting performance as much. Apologies for my lengthy comment. I sound like Heimskr preaching the worship of Community Shaders! It's tough being a fanatic!
Hey man in regards to your performance with your tree overhaul of choice I highly recommend you use the mod less vanilla trees and select the 30% option. When using a tree mod like Traverse or nature of the wildlands you won't notice a few select trees being removed for performance sake. It can save you up to 15 frames in some areas. I also highly recommend trying nature of the wildlands as a base and then using Traverse on top of it. Doing it this way will have nature of the wildlands replace all of the forest clutter and add some new tree models while Traverse will be the one replacing the vanilla trees creating a brilliant mixture as well as adding highly impressive detail on some of the trees like Vines and moss growing on their surface and far more detailed tree stumps and Forest debris. Not to mention nature of the wildlands also replaces your need for Skyrim 3D trees and plants but compliments well with Skyrim 3D landscape. Personally I just use nature of the wildlands instead of Traverse because it covers more so I highly recommend you check out just that one first and see how you like it as it sticks closer to vanilla while adding new trees and new details to the vanilla trees . As for Aspen trees I highly recommend you check out one of blubbos other mod Aspen again tree replacer specifically looking at the red variant. It's the highest quality aspen tree he has and as one of the best I've ever seen but it's buried in some of his older mods but you definitely have to use less vanilla trees for it . I've almost perfected my own graphical load order as I prepare to start my own TH-cam modding Channel although I'll be taking a different approach.

The main issue with ELFX Shadows is that it seems dead. There hasn't been an update for the main mod nor the patch collection for quite a while. I guess it's ok if you don't use a lot of city and interior overhauls.
You should check out Fantasia Landscapes released by SkyKing over the holidays. It provides a far better fantasy option than his Skyland option. Just override Skyland and include the complex parallax add-on.

Community shader's don't fix the drawcall limit which is thebmain reason for fps drops. You can offset the enb performance cost with the upscaling mod. And even a rx6600 can run 1080p 60 with enb. Now, unless you have something real old like a 1060 or 1650, community shaders is pretty good.
