The way these studies become finished artworks is amazing..

The chrome reflecting the other textures was a cool detail :)

I feel like I should try this, but I feel intimidated at the same time because I know my final result won't come out this great, and I'll be frustrated and disappointed with myself hahaha
You should! I often have the same thoughts when getting started on something, especially new, but even if its not what you expected it to be you will do better the next time around. Keep going! :)
That's how I felt too when I watched this. But the point of doing the study isn't to top her, it's to study and practice different objects and skins and stuff.

Bubbles have a very prismatic color since it reflects the different rays of light like a rainbow! :P
I really love this though! I recently ordered a digital tablet and wanted to start getting into digital art and need to really work on improving things like this and anatomy. I'd love to do fantasy/nature based artwork like elves, dragons, flowers, etc. I guess i admire aesthetically pleasing things. :P Love this video though and subbed asap! :3

I used google or pinterest of an material such as rock or metal and had all the images up to pull from. I hope that makes sense xD;;;

Haha! Thanks! I used Mr--Jack's brushes and some chalk brushes I've kinda developed to my liking as well as a few brushes I picked up from somewhere...I can't remember though;;;

Has anyone seen a real time narrated tutorial on how to do something like this. Speed paints are interesting but way to fast to actually catch how to do what ever is being shown unless you already know how to do it.
also, use reference photos! you wont be able to see how a material works without using your powerful eyes on them
I did use reference photos for these. They were just on my second monitor.

I get this is supposed to be inspirational but when she says stuff like it is "not done" or "rough" or "without focusing on key details", it just demotivates the hell out of me. What she calls "pretty bad" is something I can probably never do in a million years

This was interesting but not helpful in the least as I was expecting to see the process and slow down in what one looks. Good skill, not a very helpful video in the least.
