    What I love about this story is that Jack Napier actually accomplished what The Joker never could; he turned Batman into a villain. The issue is that Jack essentially manipulated Batman into being perceived as a villain by the public, while Joker always wanted to drive Batman insane. So I guess the real question is whether The Joker actually wants things to stay the way they are, or return to the status quo.

      Maybe it was all according to Joker's plan after all, because Batman is always right.

    We also love your periscopes.

    Silly Rob, that analog Batmobile that Gordan rides is actually the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film. :P

      Yes, the analog Batmobile is a homage to the first Batman movie (I believe it's 1984 Batman movie, correct me if I'm wrong)

    11:05 Harleen's face is priceless. This comic has a lot of really nice details in it, like the little heart when Alfred kisses Bruce for the last time, it's precious. A dark and serious comic, with tiny hints of joy and humour in it.

    Its probably been said already, but the art style of this series is gorgeous

  • @InSpades0

    for the sake of telling the story i think Joker beating batman makes sense and was a good idea but honestly batman any other day wouldve beaten him so bad his fist would start hitting jokers soul.

    • @InSpades0
      @InSpades0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I know that thats why I said "any other day"

    • @CornBreadtm1
      @CornBreadtm1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      InSpades Honestly, I would have called bullshit on Batman winning after being literally Blinded then in a car accident. Dude was bleeding from everywhere! Him walking away? "He's Batman." I give you that. But anything more is super human and not peak human like Batman is suppose to be.

    • @InSpades0
      @InSpades0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      true but there have been moments in comics before where batmans been through some nightmarish crap and still being able to walk away I mean if the man can wrestle a 20+ foot alligator a car crash isnt gonna hurt him too bad. again Im not saying having him lose was a bad move but even blinded, bleeding out, car crash and even with the drugs acting like a steroid joker was still an amateur. Although it would be a safe bet Batman was also suffering from severe lack of sleep plus the mental anguish of alfreds death and learning about his parents etc. But still even with all that Im sure Batman would still have the upper hand if this fight wasnt necessary for story and character development.

    • @CaronDriel
      @CaronDriel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But Batman is already overpowered. His "peak human abilities" are far more than any real world human could achieve. People have been writing "power-less" heroes as, at the very least, having super-durability for years. This story just put Batman in a more believable state of human ability. Honestly Joker won through a combination of super-steroids (don't forget that he explains that when Harley questions his chances of beating Batman), some martial training, ideal conditions, and a whole lot of luck.

    • @InSpades0
      @InSpades0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah I dont think you read my last response at all where I said that even with the steroids etc jokers still an amateur. a few weeks or months of training even with super steroids and a genius level intellect wouldnt compare to batmans years of experience.

    This reminds me of Loki in the 1st Avengers movie, when he basically told the Black Window that heroes delude themselves, but they really are just one group of villains contending with other villains----& he was correct....

  • @Rooibos_Marvelous
    @Rooibos_Marvelous 6 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    I hate when this happens... it's Superior Spiderman all over again.
    I mean the "villain" has surpassed the hero in every way because of cunning and planning and in the last moment they just become incapable of finding a solution so they just quit and let the hero fix everything in an instant and return to the status quo... u_u
    Great job Rob. Keep it up. Thank you for doing this.

    Firat I want to say thank you! I can't believe I found this channel. I'm not really a fan of Batman, but I really want to find this story! Your videos on this arc have me captivated!
    With that said, it is entirely possible Jack has had more training than we know. He has been in and out of prison and asylums, "fanboys" over Batman to the point he may have "studied" the way he fights. He may not be a great fighter, but theae things coupled with Batman being injured could make sense.

      Mohammed Armaan is not that simple. There's expectations that Batman must meet. Were talking about a character that dresses like a bat on top of that is super edge and somehow is the most popular DC hero. Why do you think that is? The only time when expected to lose is when he faces a redicules obsticle like fighting superman.

    Oh my god that is awesome. I straight up laughed when I saw that Joker transformation.
    On another note I feel I should mention Batman is a Vigilante or he sees himself as one, so being treated as a criminal, and being hunted doesn't actually get under his skin or bother him in anyway, the only thing about the situation that bothers him is that he is 'losing,' towards the joker. Batman's story is a tragedy, at least in Batman's eyes, the day the police force has the resources and time to treat him as a criminal would be a sign that peace is coming and his work is complete. Too bad the one he is losing against is the Joker. I feel Nightwing should know batman enough to know this, but since it's an elseworlds story it doesn't matter that much.
