I have recently seen your video on youtube of the installation of the angel eyes in the BMW, I have bought the same ones as you and I have tried all the steps that you do with the red with white and black with black cables, but when you turn on, it is not seen no light, only long distance lights work. That could be happening?
Pretty good video, BUT! There are some very important points I would like to bring to everyone's attention. I am an ASE master Tech with 40+ yrs. of experience. Before you guys do this HL assemble swap here are the negative points. The HL fixture swap is fine it's the different bulbs that cause the first issue. LED's & HID's have a different amperage draw and a different resistance and this will set a code & a warning light on the dash, especially on a BMW vehicle. Another issue is access to the bulbs, depending on the vehicle and space behind the fixture. The new HL fixture is not maintenance friendly. There's no easy snap clip to open the back to access the bulbs as on the OEM's. The new fixture has 5 or 6 screws which make opening the back difficult to impossible. Lastly the aiming fasteners are difficult to use. Matts video shows the wire connections for the halo's 3 pair of wire to be connected to the white(+) & Blk(-) wires. This is not correct, the 3 red wire should be connected to the red wire going to the high beam bulb which is the daytime running lights. That will power the halo's when the light switch is in the automatic position. I have done quite a few of these conversions, So consider these issues beforehand. I hope this helps.
Top tip mate. The middle two wires of the 6 for the angel eyes power those little leds at the top of the light. I didn't use them so just have the halos lit up.
I literally love seeing your e87 series. Got myself a E82 diesel 3 weeks ago. You have inspired me mate. Got my Msport rims back from powder coat the other day. Gonna go all out with this car. Stage 2 optimization carbon fiber stuff an fun. Great vids mate!
The LEDs flicker bc the car supplied a 3-6 volt power to check if the bulb circuit completes to check if the bulb is blown or not. Halogens don’t light up as they need 12V whereas LEDs can light up with that low voltage. That causes the fault on the dash and also the flickers. One way to get rid is coding it out and turning off VOLTAGE MONITORING. I know bc I’ve done this 😂 it’s a headache.

Nice upgrade.... My son swapped out his golf mk6 headlights for after market Mk7 led units..... With an error code... OBD found the fault but wouldn't delete it... Waiting to see what your next edit is with your issue.... 👌

I had an e90, I remember changing the front bumper with no jack, lol. It took ages. It was previously crashed and I got it cheap, bumper let it down so decided to change it. The fettling it took was mad.
Hi I fitted simler angel eye into my e46 and yeah good lights but like you said they could of already wired em up.to be honest it took some messing about a bit to get em to fit .the only pain in the ass is when you want to change a bulb in em
Hey if you order an LED 194 bulb and remove the ugly yellow light, you can replace them and it is all white. I agree, why didn’t they just do that earlier🙈

Ive have these same angel eyes on my E81 for around a year and they really bug me now when thry are in sidelight mode as each light has that horrible little LED light just above the middle of the halo's that shines brighter then the halo's taking away the effect of the angel eyes...i am now considering changing them for a different set without those LED's
@@craigirving5540 Good idea...those LED's above the angel eyes are horrible. I ended up getting rid of these angel eye lights last month and buying a set of Depo V2 angel eyes that dont have that LED light above the halos haha
Did you had DRL before you changed the headlights? Because my car doesn't and i'm wondering if the angel eyes will actually light up by themselves as DRL even if you're car doesn't have DRL by default
I know this is a longshot, but maybe anyone had a problem with the xenons? When I start the engine mine go down like they're supposed to, but then they go up way too much and stay there, blinding other people on the road. I have no idea what could be the problem, I don't get any fault messages on the dashboard or infotainment system everything seems to be connected, also a third of the time I drive headlights work properly. There are no sounds coming from the headlights, I didn't modify the suspension and I don't have the adaptive headlights. I don't want to blind others, but I also have to drive daily to make it from work to lectures and driving on DRL is a bit dangerous. I have 1er e81 if that makes any difference.

The car does voltage bulb check tests, you disable them with an OBD scan tool. This also eliminates the LED flicker. The side turn signal bulbs are available in a translucent clear chrome color from Phillips.
Hey, have you got problems if melting the headhunt or something like that because of the LED? I put LED bulbs in my OEM and the reflector started melting, I bought these angel eyes but I’m afraid of fitting the LED bulbs in there.

Your amazing the first video I watched told me to take off the bumper and all this stuff and you just pulled it out haha
wiring for angel eyes should be connected to a DRL module so they turn on with ignition and without tail lights
if you undo the side bolts. you can pull the bumper forward and lift the headlights up. the bottom 8mm bolts doenst have to come out.

Joey 92 mate I comment this on every video I’ve got the standard 16inch silver ones on mine but these look nice
