I think it was Voltaire that said “common sense is not common”
I’ve carried a pocket knife nearly every day for the last 41 years. My dad gave a knife on my eighth birthday. Taught me how to use it and how to maintain it. One of the best gifts I ever received. I still have it.
In those 41 years of almost carrying of a knife I have never once used one in defense or offense for that matter. Have I cut myself? Sure. Many times, but I was never a danger to anyone else. I taught myself as an eight year old not to stab with a Victorinox knife. They are not made for it.
I have been asked by police and others, on occasion, what reason I had to carry a knife. The answer has always been the same. “To cut stuff”. What else is a knife for?
I think Samuel Clements was thinking along the same lines as Voltaire when he said “common sense is good, but good sense isn’t common”

If it weren’t for knee jerk reaction laws most governments around the world would have nothing to do. 👍

The police will seize anything they want to then you'll have to fight to get it returned.

I can't imagine living under such regulations. A lot of states here in the US have little to no regulation on knives. Here in Kentucky I can carry a samurai sword as long as I don't hide it.

Cheers mate , you've practically got to be a professor in law over here to understand any of it , it changes every couple of years

I was told not to carry the Swiss card as the tiny knife was fixed blade? I said is the 4 position screw driver in this kit a Kung Fu star weapon as well?

Yeah agree100%. The very last thing most people would want to do is harm anybody with a knife.
The swiss army knife is my go to, ive carried one since i was a Gamekeeper when i left school wouldn't be without it. We always had a knife as lads including a sheath knife on your belt too.
To think the lock on those knives is a safety feature its crazy that its now used as a reason to prevent law abiding people from carrying them. Its a subject that can get you wound right up but i dont see it ever changing. Sad really

Your right there mate , when I talk I wind myself up, trouble is in this country if you actually stood up and addressed the real statistics and culprits of violent crime in the UK you would be arrested and be treated like some sort of evil person , even though you would be inarguably correct ?

Malti took cut off the blade so when thay do pull you, there be no blade on it, so you can carry malti and swiss together job done.

Anything bad done with knives it’s always a kitchen knife so these laws protect no one

Knife laws are ridiculous. You can't even carry a OTF knife or a balisong because they "look scary", yet I use a Leatherman Skeletool as my EDC, it opens one-handed and isn't deemed scary somehow. You could also do more damage with a firmer chisel or a screwdriver.
They call them "Common sense laws", yet they demonstrate no common sense themselves.

Crazy law, you can't carry a knife and I have a whole stack of 30 rd mags... Lol my family isn't going to be victim's! Knife's are the least of my worries with Russia and n Korea breathing....

Don’t understand why this nonsense also applies to pocket knives. I thought this was because of those non practical fantasy knives and samurai swords you used to be able to buy.

Pocket knives as well mate , laws are changing all the time now , even a leatherman multi tool can land you in a pile of shit 🍺
