Hello everyone,
In this video, I'll walk you through one of the steps to become a pharmacist in Canada. Basically, to become a pharmacist in Canada, you should register with Pharmacists Gateway Canada For International Pharmacists. You will need to do that before applying for document evaluation by PEBC. The costs for all steps are mentioned in the video. I also give you tips on how to be prepared for all these costs.

Hello there
I am a BPharm graduate who is currently studying in Canada and wants to take the PEBC series of exams and become a licensed pharmacist in Canada. After enrolling with the international pharmacist gateway and completing my documents evaluation, Can I take time to prepare adequately before I take the exams or it is compulsory to schedule your examination within a specific period else you risk redoing the previously completed steps.
As soon as you get approved to take the first exam, PEBC will send you the nearest date to do that. I don't believe you get to choose at this point, but I could be wrong, as this part is never cleared by PEBC. But from experience with other students, they get notified of the next 1 or 2 exam dates (within the same year or so) to choose from. If you're studying pharmacy in Canada then you would skip the evaluating exam. Good luck

Hello , if a finnish a university in eastern europe i can go to work in canada as a pharmacist? Also from which subjects i have to take the register exam in order to enter in the pharmacy?
You can only work in Canada as a pharmacist after you go through the board of pharmacy exams. This includes evaluating exam, qualifying exam, OSCE exam, and pharmacy law exam. You will also need to take a training course before receiving your license to practice. I teach some of the exam material on my website and here on TH-cam. In document evaluation we upload documents self or from University some one say sent your documents through your college or university where u studied
Sorry I missed your comment. You have to ask your university to send documents directly to PEBC. Their address is on their website. If you send documents yourself it will be rejected. All the best
Hi, great video, thanks. I have a question though if you could answer please. I am registered as a pharmacist in Category A back in my home country but I do not have a licence since I did not work. Would that be accepted if I submit category A instead of licence

@@clinicalpharmacycourse Thanks for the reply. I have done Pharm D from Pakistan and I am registered pharmacist there. I never worked so far as a pharmacist so I do not have the licence. I lived in the UK and now in Canada so technically I can not produce a licence, I will have to go back to Pakistan and get a licence based on pharmacist job.

Hi sir, Thank you so much for such an explanation. I have mainly 2 questions...
1. I'm an international pharmacy graduate in Ontario, Canada. I want to apply for the PEBC examination for Ontario Licensed Pharmacist. Do I need to take a bridging program after qualifying PEBC exam for an Ontario licensed pharmacist.? Is it mandatory.?
2. After getting my Ontario License, If I want to change my province do I need to restart the whole examination process for that particular province.?
Hi there, sorry for my late reply. To answer your first question, yes, you need a bridging program in any province you apply for, including Ontario. However, the good news is, once you get a full pharmacist license, you don't need to do the bridging program again if you plan to work at a different province.
If you want to transfer feom Ontario to, say British Columbia, all you need is to do the pharmacy law exam and of course apply for a license with the college of pharmacists of BC. And so on. Pharmacy law is mandatory for every province you practice in.

Hi sir, i completed my four year degree b. Pharmacy degree in India. Can i be a pharmacist after doing masters in canada?
A masters degree is not a qualifying degree to practice pharmacy in Canada! You still have to go through PEBC process. They state on their website that in order to qualify as Canadian graduate, you should be "graduate with a first professional undergraduate degree in pharmacy from a program accredited by The Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP)". Thanks for supporting the channel. If you're planning to apply for PEBC, you only need a bachelors degree. However, if you are planning a career pathway in academia, or clinical pharmacy, then a masters or PharmD would be great! You can do the masters in Canada, but PharmD degrees are undergrad so you'd have to redo your pharmacy degree to get a pgarmD degree which is impractical. Thanks for your question. There are plenty of courses nowadays. It really depends on what you like and what kind of practice you need. For example, there's a course that many people sign up for called Misbah. I find that course absolutely terrible (in terms of information delivery and the language which is obviously made by non-English speakers). But most students find it helpful. I have my own course for all exams, but it's a question bank practice course. So I gathered the most important questions from all courses with answers and you just practice those. There is also the pharmaepass course, for which I have a $200 discount with (Use code JR200). All these courses deliver very similar information, but variable prices. That's why I created my course to make it affordable for everyone to practice. All the best :)

Yes, both degrees are rhe same. In some countries they call it pharmaceutical sciences instead of pharmacy. I met lots of students from Egypt in the past and they have the same. All are licensed in Canada now. All the best

Pharmacy technicians are regulated in Canada. That means you have to go to school to study for a year I believe, take a licensing exam for technicians, and obtain a license to practice. It is not as hard as pharmacist's licensing, so it is possible for sure. I just wanted to let you know the process because I believe it could be different in other countries. The other thing you could do is work as pharmacy assistant. Pharmacy assistants do not need any kind of licensing. But your job would be completely different (whatever a pharmacist and a pharmacy technician does not do will be thrown on you as a pharmacy assistant). The salary for a technician is around $24/hr. And for a pharmacy assistant you can expect about $17/hr. I hope this information helps you in the future. All the best

Just a visitor's visa, which they call temporary resident visa. It's easy to apply for, and can be single or multiple entries.

@ayaalhafidh6077 No problem! You will have to apply for a temporary resident visa, and fill an application form. I am not sure if you have to give any proof about the course, but this is the same visa anyone applies for to come to Canada for Tourism. If they mention proof required on the application, you could just contact the course centre and ask them for a letter to prove you'll be attending the course. Otherwise you could also submit a receipt of your payment, a confirmation email, etc, when applying for visa. It shouldn't be hard :)

It's getting hard to catch up with all messages :) So, when you apply to take the bridging course, you will probably get a confirmation letter from the faculty of pharmacy in whichever province you apply for. You could submit that letter with your visa application, although I don't think you need to. But in case you want to strengthen your application, submitting such a letter should do. All the best :)

No! you can't! That's a completely different degree! But earning a PharmD will definitely push your application compared to someone else who does not have a PharmD and is applying for the same medical school. The competition is super high in that field. All the best.

@muhammadezrasarliviano3165 I don't think so although this would depend on where you're applying. Different countries have different educational rules. Some countries will use credit from your previous degree and apply towards your next degree, etc! You have to contact the pharmacy schools in your region to answer this question. All the best

@loloyasser4336 That's a different question really! The score calculated depends on many factors, not just years of experience! For example higher education adds up, marriage adds up, IELTS score adds up, and so on!

I recently graduated in Doctor of Pharmacy. Now I want to go to Canada as a registered pharmacist. I wanted to know what steps I have to clear before coming to Canada while living in my country, i.e. evaluation of documents in my country and remaining after coming to Canada, please clear my confusion? And as you mentioned a pharmacist on a visitor visa would have to go to Canada to take the evaluating exam right?
All exams need to be completed in Canada, in addition to the training course. You can apply from your home country, get a visit visa to Canada, and just come to Canada whenever it's time for your exam. Once done the exam you leave or stay it's up to you. You will need to apply for immigration at the same time to save time. It can take 6 months to 1 year for immigration to get processed.

@user-vf6xu3ju7g Actually you're right! Prometric has been organizing the computerized exams in many countries, but not the OSCE though. Thanks for bringing that up!
Sorry I totally missed the part that you now can do the first 2 exams in other countries besides Canada. OSCE has to be in Canada though. I hope this helps a bit! :)

I am sorry but I don't think there's such an option in Canada. I mean, I don't understand the rationale behind too! If someone wants to hire, you have got to work for them! You can't get a contract and not work! But you can ask a legal counselor/lawyer about it too!

@patmebg3794 You don't need experience to apply for the exams. But you need a valid pharmacist license from your home country. You can totally study on your own, but if you prefer group study, search for evaluating exam groups on facebook. There are plenty. I offer question banks to prepare you for each exam, but you need to study first. Most students go for Misbah review for all exams. It's not the greatest but has plenty of good information. Another book that can help is Comprehensive pharmacy review. All the best

Is it mandatory to get your license if you come through the express entry stream? Will I need to get a licence from immigration points of view, like if you don't get your license, can you still qualify for ITA in express entry?
Also are there any jobs that a pharmacist can do without a license? Like in industrial setup and such
Thanks for visiting the channel! It is not mandatory to obtain a pharmacist license if you're immigrating. This is totally up to you if you want to do it. However, if you're applying for immigration as a pharmacist under skilled worker express entry portal, it is mandatory to do document evaluation with PEBC. That's because once you pass the document evaluation you will receive a letter stating that your documents passed document evaluation as a pharmacist and you can apply for immigration.
Pharmacist license does not affect immigration points. What affects points are things like marriage, higher degree, high score in English Language exam, etc. I hope this answers your questions. All the best :)

Thanks for your questions, and sorry for my late reply. Yes, you have to show proof of funds at the point of entry to Canada. This means if you're arriving at a Canadian airport, you need to show proof of funds (Bank cheque for example). For 1 person only immigrating to Canada, you need to show proof of $13,757 that will be deposited in a Canadian bank account. If it's more than one person immigrating, the amount becomes higher. And in regards to the points, you need 67 points to qualify for the express entry. If achieved, and you enter the pool, you will need at least 500 points under CRS to guarantee acceptance. In 2023, the Lowest CRS points cut-off score was 481 in all program draw. All the best
