I'm so glad to see this type of mixed media technique again! Not only is it beautiful but very creative as well! Thanks for this wonderful inspiration!! xx Claudene
Awww... very nice! Thank you for sharing this to me in a FB message (Gina Louise Galluccio) - it has given me a lot of ideas about how to découpage fabric on my small apothecary cabinet - now I know what I'd like to try on the sides of the cabinet!
That's great Gina. Good luck with your project. Fabric can be easier than paper for decoupaging, esp. if you have an uneven surface or corner etc,as it stretches a bit and molds smoothly. Have fun with it. : )
Very pretty...I wasn't too sure how it would look when you stuck the strips of dark fabric on there, but it turned out looking great! That's why you are the artist and I am the viewer! Ha!
Bravo, Ina! This is a tour de force and I love it so much. I have never seen anything like this and it's wonderful. Well done and thank you for putting up your video. xx
Again a wonderful work that I like very much. Using fabric to make a collage is certainly more enjoyable than with paper. Love the cute butterflys. ❤👍 LG vom Tinchen
Beautiful piece. Being a quilter I have everything at hand to do this. Thank you so much. Just an FYI, yesterday I photocopied some butterfly fabric onto paper to use in an art journal page.
Ina thank you for this video. your work is beautiful. the details you put into this is just gorgeous. You have inspired me to go dig out some of my fabrics and play. absolutely love this and enjoyed watching you create it TFS!!!
Wow, so much yumminess on one canvas, what a clever idea to keep the butterflies up with the beads. Great job and good that you could save the footage. Btw, the flowers were send by me, it was a ribbon and I`m pretty happy to see you using them so well.
Thanks Andrea, I thought you might have been the one giving me the flowers, They really helped with the look of this project. I am happy to report that the glitches I had trouble with before, seem to all come from my old computer, which was just not up to the task. Now with my new computer things have worked themselves out. For the time being I am still using Movie Maker,it is still available, although officially discontinued. It's simple and I now it so well. But I am going to practice with a better program,so I am ready when Movie Maker is no more. : )
This is just beautiful. Everyday I learn knew things. I've been doing all my mixed media on paper and in the past few days I have see you and Cat Hand using canvas boards and I love the idea! Thanks you for sharing :)
Thank you Alicia. A canvas board id do much sturdier,so you ca pile on the layers and weight....no problems. Art journal pages are limited.when you want to use extra texture and elements. : )
This is amazing Ina. I'm new to mixed media. Can you pls tell me the name of the pen you used to outline the butterflies; I didn't catch what you said (the cc says "pasta" pen). Thanks.
Thank you so much Tammy. Glad you discovered mixed media and my channel. These pens are POSCA pens, they are available on Amazon and they are widely used for outlining ,detailing etc. They work really well. : )
Where do you get your flowers and butterflies?? I just saw this beautiful art, what elements I need to get to start?like glue ??and what else the brushes ??what are they called to buy ??
I just used fabric bits for everything, incl. the butterflies. (cut from patterned fabric.) The organza flowers and lace were rest pieces as well. I presume that any fabric store will have these items. For the rest ,I used gel medium for glue, regular art brushes and a few different mediums, paint, spray etc. This type of art can easily be done with whatever you have handy. Have fun with it.
A very beautiful canvas, Ina. I really enjoyed watching you create it. My friend gave me fabric, but it's very thick, so I don't think matte gel would hold it. Tfs, Fia xx
Very pretty, I wonder? Does your grand daughter want it to match what you made her originally with the butterfly material? I couldn't blame her if she did :)
Good thought Patrice. She might, although she has grown to be 9 years old and she got the dolly bunk bed with pillow and blanket, when she was 5 years old. Happy you like the piece. : )
I presume you mean ,what is the point of art in general?? Big Question. I would say to create something beautiful that makes you happy. If art does not inspire you like that ...try something else. Good luck. : )
I really love your beautiful art
I'm so glad to see this type of mixed media technique again! Not only is it beautiful but very creative as well! Thanks for this wonderful inspiration!! xx Claudene
Welcome Claudene and thank you for the wonderful comment. : )
This is a beautiful canvas. When you first put on the dark red fabric the frayed ends made it look like branches. The whole process was fun to watch.

Glad you do. Thank you so very much Sue. : )
This is really cool. So you used gel medium to keep the fabric down on the canvas?
Yes, for fabric collage I like to use gel medium. It does not work ,if you want to wear it, as it stiffen the fabric. Glad you enjoyed this project.
Lovely
Thank you very much Judy.
MARABILLOSO
Thank you so very much Ines. : )
A very beautiful canvas, Ina. I really enjoyed watching you create it. My friend gave me fabric, but it's very thick, so I don't think matte gel would hold it. Tfs, Fia xx
Thank you very much Fia, Try fabric glue for heavier fabric. So glad you like this.
pretty
Thank you
What glue are you using? All my fabric pieces went dark when I glued them using acrylic Matt medium.
I used Gel Medium, which works well and is still looking good.Thank you for watching Jane.
My type art😊

Nice
Thank you very much. : )
WHERE did you get the stencils from?
I believe those ones are from Folk Art, not sure though. : )
interesting what is the point I really want to know. I color and I want to get into more ART but I don't know
I presume you mean ,what is the point of art in general?? Big Question. I would say to create something beautiful that makes you happy. If art does not inspire you like that ...try something else. Good luck. : )
I could not get the brand of gel medium. Your fingers were in the way.
