  • Greg "The Hammer" Valentine talks about what Hulk Hogan is like in real life, outside the WWF (now known as WWE). Enjoy this exclusive new shoot interview from Title Match Network, live in Las Vegas.
    Streaming now 📺 TitleMatchNetwork.com
Produced by us in Feb 2021, this is our first ever solo shoot interview with Hall of Fame legend, Greg Valentine.
Find out how Hammer and Hogan first met back in the 1970s before Hulk ever became a wrestler. Hear about their infamous WWF matches during the birth of Hulkamania, including the one at the Philadelphia Spectrum.
Also, we discuss Greg's first time wrestling against the Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal). In 1984, Vince McMahon had asked Valentine if he knew the Road Warriors because he wanted to sign them for the rock n' wrestling connection.
We hope you enjoy this exclusive new shoot from Greg the Hammer!

I really hope Greg is in good health and stays around with us for years to come. This guy was always a heel, but back when I was just a little kid he was one of my favorite guys to watch on WWWF in late 1970s and early 1980s. He was the first guys I can remember being a master of the Figure 4 leg lock. Well before Flair took that move. I know there were others before him as well, but I was too young to know them.

It's nice to see a veteran wrestler who isn't completely bitter and hateful towards most everyone they worked with. Hearing him say how he's still good friends with a lot of the guys is very cool. He seems like a humble guy who just did his best to get along with everyone.

The "Hammer" was right, I respected the Road Warriors, but like "The Hammer" said, you couldn't have them wrestle for extended periods of time because of their limited amount of wrestling moves. Overall, I preferred WWF over the other wrestling territories, but I liked wrestling better when they had the territories. I have almost ignored wrestling once everything merged into one WWE.

Greg was always a favorite of mine, even as a kid when I believed in kayfabe, he was a heel but I loved him. He wasn't huge but he was damn tough and that's what I liked about him. He was a very good wrestler and for me, he was one of the most believable. He was just a hard hitting tough guy. I seen him years later at an indepent show in Dayton Ohio and as he walked through the isle way I stuck my hand out and he high fived me. That made my night. The Hammer is the best! He seems like such a humble class act guy and a straight shooter who doesn't bury everyone. Thank you so much for all the amazing wrestling memories Greg, you were one of the few who made me believe. Bless you Greg!
