I met him once when I was a kid. He was really nice. We were actually going on a family vacation to Hawaii. He was sitting in 1st class. My younger brother recognized him and says. Hey!!! It's Bam Bam Bigelow. He was going on vacation too. He had the flight attendant have us come up there to meet him. He had a black eye. I remember he said he was gonna kick some other wrestler's ass.....I mean butt when he got back from vacation. 😂

I used to see him in Spring Hill at the local wrestling matches held at the Civic Center, he was pretty active in the northern Tampa scene. I think he was pretty much like everyone here. An ex New York or Jersey native.
He was a class act despite the personal issues he may of had, and loved his fans. It almost reminds me of the movie The Wrestler.
The fact that the guy who got shit on was named Bad News Brown is way too funny.

RIP Bam Bam. He was the first dude I ever saw that had his head tattooed. I was terrified of him. Little did I know, he was a sweet hearted man. Loved his outfits to. Always colorful. He was a very agile big man and I found that mind blowing.
Awesome interview! R.I.P. Bam Bam. He was an incredible talent, ahead of his time, who never truly got his due in the business. It was great that in the beginning, Paul did him right as E.C.W. (R.I.P.) world heavyweight champion. A stand up man. He is sorely missed.
I never heard a bad story about Bam Bam. In his interviews he came off as such a chill guy, he sounds like the type who'd get along great with on the road and he'd likely have your back if you went out to the bar. Shame he never got far in WWF, the politics of the Kliq held him back and made sure he never got past midcard. May he RIP.

Bam Bam has always been criminally underappreciated.
He had a super unique look, was very agile for his size, great worker, by all accounts was safe and easy to work with, could have a good match with practically everyone.

I remember bam bam had a burger shop up in mount cobb. Pa. He had a bambam burger it was friggen massive. He held a arm wrestling matches and one last wrestling match agaisnt doink the clown.. me 5'9 145 lbs challenged him to a arm wrestiling match he just shook his head and said get outta here lol. I told the news reporter there for the event he was afraid to challenge me. They put that in the local paper hahaha. What a awesome guu

My best friend lived a couple doors down from Bam Bam’s mom in Jersey. He would come visit and hang out front with the kids. Was just a neighborhood guy at heart.

Andre was broken down by the point they came across each other. In a legit fight in 1988 Bam Bam wrecks him 100 times out of 100.

I went to high school with four siblings who claimed to be Bam Bam's nieces and nephews. Never tried to verify that, but hey, they were quite clearly from Jersey, so maybe.
The "bad brown news" story is absolutely classic, as long as you don't spend much time thinking about it from Bad News's POV.
I was a kid when Andre came to Australia. Back in those days, the wrestlers were literally standing beside you watching. I can't remember if it was at the Sydney Hordern Pavillion or Flemingto Market complex, but, as a kid with Andre walking right in front of you, it was like watching a mountain walk past. But, when he grinned and waved back, it was like the King of the World had said "hello, little one."
I'll never forget Bam Bam doing cartwheels in the Wrestlemania game.

I had breakfast with Andre one Sunday morning at a Howard Johnson's restraunt.I've never seen that much food come out a kitchen for one person.He ate it all.I can imagine the load he dumped on Bad News,after all that Mescal Clammato laxative he drank.

Favorite BamBam memory was one Raw I think where's on the top rope points to the camera, says "This one's for you babe" (Luna), and then hits the moonsault on some jobber.
Alot of these guys were amazing people just in general that loved people and the people loved them. From the time I was a child and knew how to think for myself these men provided countless hours of entertainment for me and my friends, risking their bodies and health for the public eye and hearts thank you all of you and I wish health and happiness on the ones who continue to live and rest and peace for the ones who have passed on ty and God bless
