I feel bad that most people know Jamie Dornan as the guy from 50 Shades of Grey. The man is a great actor and talented performer. I know that it was a limited release in theaters, but I hope this shows people just how great he is.
Don’t feel bad he was awesome as Christian if anything it has drawn attention to him. The Fall was awesome The Lost World was too. You see his name and you just want to go. He has made many really great movies. I believe this will be Oscar bound!

If this clip doesn't make you fall in love with Jamie Dornan, check your pulse - you're already dead!! This movie is heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time. Beautifully told story of the start of the Troubles, seen from the living room window rather than the headlines, making it truly poignant. Should be seen in a theater, if possible but, if not, see it however you can.

I need your help Arlene. Saw it today in Vegas AND after the wake, and brunch with the incredible singing by Jamie I had to use the restroom. I swear I was gone less then 2 minutes and when I came back in the credits were rolling? OMG? Please what happened? Buffalo Bobby now retired in Vegas.
@@bingovegas4867 Aw bud bummer! Basically there’s only one scene following the wake. They go to the bus stop and while waiting the kid gives flowers to his girlfriend and they exchange an awkward but loving goodbye. As the bus leaves with the family in it, the dad makes eye contact with the grandmother who watches from outside their home. She says to herself something along the lines of “go get out of here” in a this is for the best kind of way with a dramatic extreme closeup on her face. Then we get a cut to black and return to in-colour Belfast establishing shots while some text fades in and out about how the movie is for the ones who left, stayed, and were lost.

Really enjoyed this movie. I feel that Ciaran Hinds is fantastic in every role he plays, but he was a perfect cast for the part of the “old Irish grandfather”

This is such a great scene. In the movie at this point this couple had been quarreling. They’d experienced separation, conflict, some violence, some loss, and perhaps they’d forgotten a bit of the feeling that had gotten them together in the first place. But here the husband gets behind the microphone and you can see the feelings spark again in the wife’s eyes. She’s just looking at him, taking him in. “Ah, here he is. This is the man I love.” The dude is irresistible and she doesn’t resist. She dances a jig, catches Cupid’s arrow, and joins him onstage. Beautiful.

This is the best movie I’ve seen so far this year. Just a beautiful experience. Fantastic performances across the board. Yeah, maybe it’s overly sentimental but maybe we need that right now? If this wins best picture you’ll hear no complaints from me.

People liked to compare this to Roma but the diffrence is just Roma is about Mexican culture whereas Belfast is about Irish culture, that's a clear difference. Having seen the movie, it's not fair that people say this as a "Roma rip off", everyone has a different childhood, respect the fact that this is Branagh's point of view. Just because it's a B&W semi autobiographial doesn't mean is a rip off of Roma. I get the comparasion but not a rip off at all. I love this movie, Branagh's best movie since Cinderella imo

@@LebahG4nteng Roma and Belfast are two outstanding movies that share many similarities. They're in no way rip-offs of each other. They tell two different, distinct stories eloquently. If Roma is anything to go by, Belfast will be an awards magnet come next year, and I would not be surprised one bit if it wins the Best Pictures at the Oscars.

I first noticed Catriona Balfe in "Ford vs Ferrari" where she also played the strong and supportive wife. She is very expressive and totally believable in her role. And though her beauty is downplayed in both movies, I have a crush so crippling that you could push me over with a feather. What a beautiful movie! I've encouraged everyone I know who missed the theatre presentation to please stream it.
Seen Belfast 3 times and absolutely love it! Great cast, great acting and directing. The scene with Everlasting Love is magical, they look so in love. Everytime I've seen the movie, I get quite emotional. FANTASTIC MOVIE

So nice seeing a movie with normal lovely family with normal problems. Reminds me of my childhood, mum at home, great dad but needed to be out working. Kids playing with neighbours etc.

Jamie Dornan was brilliant in The Fall. His character was complex and dark, but Jamie made that character so believable. Brilliant!

Woww... I think, In this song, Jamie is really, Amazing. He should record the song and become number one at the top of the pops. Only to see singing we should see the film at the theatres
I came out of that cinema on a total high after seeing this wonderful film, and now I can't stop playing Everlasting Love (I'm old enough to remember when the original came out!). I've always loved Jamie Dornan but this just cemented that. He and Caitriona Balfe were such a believable, loving couple and both perfect in this, but I'm hoping so much that the brilliant Ciaran Hinds gets the Oscar he so deserved for his twinkly-eyed and charming performance as the Grandad.
These two make such a lovely onscreen couple!

This was my favourite scene in this film, it had me tearing up a wee bit. Really showed that love can continue and shine even in the darkest times, reminded me a bit of the derry girls s1 finale. And of course caitríona and jamie are very glamorous and talented ❤

He convinced as his character Mr Grey and he can convince me of any character omg 🥰now that’s one naturally handsome talented man, and so down to earth in any interview I’ve seen him in, he’s got it all ❤

Loved the film, beautifully filmed in black & white with those poignant pops of colour like glimpses into another world. The acting was incredible too, Catriona Balfe is a superb actor & Buddy is an adorable little fella

The entire cast was wonderful and Caitriona was superb. Talented, charismatic and the camera loves her. She's one of those actresses who you want to see more of. Can't wait to see what she does next.

I'm straight and I see it, this is "one of" the best cinema scenes I've seen,,,a great film..
It's like a throwback to how they first fell in love. The kind of everlasting love his parents had until the end (the scene reminds me of pop spontaneously serenating granny in the living room earlier) and how the circumstances of their time almost tore them apart. Reactivating that love, saving that marriage and providing them with the chance to save their marriage, that alone was reason enough for granny and the pop to let them go.
I think what’s even more beautiful is seeing ppl in the background who are his neighbors. Community coming together.

Caitriona Balfe, from my home county was very impressive
This movie’s story mirrors my mom’s in many ways. She emigrated to Canada at 10 in ‘74, under cover of night. Her dad was a Catholic in the Ulster Defence Regiment and was wanted dead by many people. In Newtownards, she wasn’t allowed to answer the door. Her dog was shot dead on her front lawn.
Her criticism of the movie was its relative downplaying of the violence. But we all liked this scene.
Jamie Doran is a fantastic actor . Extremely talented . Great to see from this island 🏝

Listen, you youngsters who think of Carl Carlton when you hear this song - yeah, he does a DECENT version. But, there is no other version than that of Robert Knight. It’s a magnificent song that was raised to transcendent by his vocals and the supporting musicians who originally recorded it back in 1967. Listen to them back-to-back.... you’ll get what I’m trying to say. In any case, I hope it gets a re-release with the good fortunes of the film. I’m anxious to see it.
This version in the film sounds like "Love Affair's version, which is incredibly good. I love the Carlton version as well as the Robert Knight version.
Pretty much every decade someone releases a new version. Some far better than others.
