As a guy, the one that hit me as most ridiculous was Serena being asked to give a twirl at a tennis tournament. I've never heard a male athlete asked to "give a twirl." Wtf? Don't ask a pro athlete to give a twirl. Ask them about their preparation for the competition, or their strategy, or their odds. Serena is a legend. It's rude to reduce her to her incredible level of fitness.
That was Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard, not Serena Williams. And she actually enjoyed having that 5 second break from talking about tennis. She said in an interview that she was not offended at all. He said he just wanted her to feel pretty in her new outfit so he gave her a moment of fashion bliss.

@@melindagoh739 omg that shit would be funny!
@Ludimeel Sorbo They're asking him in a much more respectful way. With men, it's always "what was your routine to get muscled and healthy" and for women it's "what was your routine to get sexy" "how did you fit in your catsuit" "what underwear were you wearing" "how do you feel about your male audience"
@Ludimeel Sorbo you're not a woman, are you? do have any idea how frustrating it would be to be one of these actresses? It's like being an athlete and the only thing people want to know about is your skincare routine. It has nothing to do with what you've just accomplished and pushes you into a box of "you're pretty so you can't be anything else".
Actually its not just movie stars, even in regular life it's usually women who asked to lose or gain weight to keep your husband interested or to get a boyfriend and shit like that
Regarding Anne Hatheway; it wasn't a "wardrobe misfunction", it was a perverted photographer that was the issue. There was nothing wrong with the outfit

In that case if were saying “assumptions” and that stuff, I would have asked “would you pick being loyal or stop being sexist for one full day?”
This is why even though I'm not a huge fan of Taylor's music, I am obsessed with her as a person. She's been shit on so much by the media, but she manages to rise above it and call people out in the most articulate and well-spoken ways.
I agree, I'm not much of a fan of the music, but she seems like a very nice person. I saw a video of her showing her cats, and it was really cute how relaxed the cats was. I think that's a good signal for how a person really is like, if they can be around cats or not.

"smiling doesn't win you gold medals" slap that on t-shirt and sell it.
blagaboo1 I don’t really understand how that was a feminist thing. Honestly it’s just polite to smile when you get a compliment to show appreciation, regardless of gender
SillyRamen You know damn well he wouldn’t have criticized a man for not smiling. Women are constantly being policed in the ways they react and show emotion; being told to smile is just an extension of that. The idea that women should have to smile - even when they don’t want to - just to appease other people (men in most cases) is stupid and just another way for men to (1) invalidate the emotions of women and (2) guilt them into doing things they don’t want to do.
@@kmbeautyandmore4292 Wow, I think you are trying WAY too hard to be mad at this.I do know damn well he would have ASKED a man why they didn't smile after being given a compliment. Smiling after being given a compliment is NOT gender specific, nor is it specific to anyone. Smiling in happiness is biological and universally understood as such in any society. And no one is POLICING women how they show their emotion in this clip. Literally anyone would wonder why someone (male or female) didn't show any happiness after people praised them. It's not to "appease" anyone, its a natural reaction when you are happy. So when people see you don't show any form of being happy in a situation you are expected to be happy in, then people wonder if you are upset, or don't care instead. Again... REGARDLESS OF GENDER. And how the hell does this invalidate the emotions of women? And how the hell was this interpreted as a MAN trying to guilt a WOMAN into doing anything? (maybe guilt was a goal, but how do you know a woman wouldn't have said the same thing? Cause not showing appreciation when complimented is rude. Again regardless of gender) And how the hell did any of this clip strike you as a girl being targeted because of her gender in order for a man to feel some sort of power over her? Nothing was sexist in that clip, you are pulling at strings.

Admire Serena Williams so much for taking the time to give thanks for naming her best “sportsperson” instead of “sportswoman.” It’s the little things like this that truly motivates ppl around celebrities to be aware of gender equality, especially those ppl in the media who have a platform to express a point of view, and the more interviewers and reporters feel motivated to be gender neutral to earn the respect of their interviewees, the more likely celebrities will express their honest opinions.

E.g. most of folklore, evermore, lover, reputation and midnights (her most recent 5 albums), the lucky one, Ronan, starlight, superstar, I’m only me when I’m with you, the best day, welcome to New York, New Romantics, bad blood, blank space, clean, shake it off, message in a bottle, untouchable, YBWM, long live, enchanted, Mary’s song, tied together with a smile, the outside, a place in this world… are not about her exes. There are many more examples, but I don’t wanna list them all lol, it would take me days
"When a guy shares his experience in writing, he's brave. If a woman shares her experience in writing, she's over sharing and she's overemotional or she might be crazy."
Taylor has gone through a lot and it's so sad hearing all those bad comments and hate about her. It's so annoying hearing people say she only writes about her boyfriends or she only needs men. Seriously? Who said that? Did she ever did something that made people believe she's not smart or powerful or independent? I feel so proud of her, as long as the other women who know how to respond on a sexist comment and show their power. The society and the world need them desperately!
I love how Anne whispered the "are u trying to fit into a cat suit?" part 😂
...and "We have to talk about that" priceless. But she and Scarlett should get their suits and stuff those misogynists in it.
"Are you trying to lose weight ?" I'm literally ded 💀☠
That was such a savage answer. Love her
I love her
ladymarano sg love her. Such a lady when being put into a annoying spot and STILL BEING A LADY and not acting out like I WOULD
God when Ariana glare her eyes and shout out "Boys learn"
God I love her, she shuts that dude up.
Nguyễn Bảo Dung “boys and girls we all learn.”

I love Ariana for saying that. 💕
That moment!
They just thought she was being feisty 🙄
yesss
Actually love this compilation. It makes me think, reflect and want to fight the good fight. Yes, it’s about giving women/people equal rights to be what they want to be. Not to shame those who like wearing high heels or show flesh.
What I loved about Ari is that she took the opportunity to let everyone see that everyone can learn. That the situation at hand wasn’t geared towards one gender or the other, but instead both.

Holy shit I had no idea this got so many likes 😂😂😂
@Love chief executive officer. The top position of a company.
I love Anne's answer in the interviews, she's so smart and so creative in turning the question against the interviewer
Anne when she tearing that interviewer guys awful questions down, "are you trying to fit into a catsuit?" SHE IS A BOSS.
The men in the room were probably all calling her a bitch after the interview ended. I'd bet on it.
4:55 this dude’s question to Anne is so victim blamey. “What’s the lesson learned” when someone takes an inappropriate photo of you w/o consent. Why ask HER what’s the lesson learned? She didn’t do anything wrong. Is there some lesson to learn when you’re minding your own business and someone violates you like that. Jesus
Her response was so intelligent and well articulated. And it really is shocking that he'd ask that while promoted Les Mis considering the way Fantine is also forced into being sexualised to a much more extreme extent. Imagine asking "hey, Fantine, you've had no choice but to turn to prostitution because of your incredibly classist and misogynistic society, what's the lesson learned?"
IKR LIKE WHAT??? WHAT LESSON WOULD BE LEARNED FROM THAT WTF??
Oh thank God I was looking for this comment
RIGHT
Just look up the interviewer, Matt laure was discovered to be a creep and predator. When you see the other things he's done, it's not surprising to see how he would victim blame.
I’m a swiftie, and I love Taylor swift. It always irritates me when people say all her song are about her exes. Like bro her most famous song isn’t even a breakup song. Majority of songs are about lovers/exes. The emotions evoked from those people enhance the lyrical value to the song, making it better. Personally, Taylor is a lyrical genius. You guys should see what she says about mad woman in the folklore long pond studio. It really brings insight about the topic of sexism and I love how she talked about it.
Instant respect for Anne Hathaway. She handled that question very intelligently and gracefully. Even though nobody would have been surprised if she had just stood up and walked away from Matt Lauer. What a rude question.
Her "Extra" interview @6:15 was even better. I loved how she turned the question back onto him several times, that was great! 😆
”LaDiEs LeArN”

Go off, sis!
Red Dead Eye u look like a joke
Alma Paczko PERIODTUH
i dont understand how girls learn is more sexist than girls learn
So, it’s not okay for a man to say it to a woman but, a woman can say it to a man? In my opinion, both genders shouldn’t say it to each other.
Red Dead Eye You are making yourself look stupid. If that’s your opinion, keep it to yourself.
The “Ladies Learn” one makes me so angry every time.
Egg Sanity same it makes me so mad aHHh
ariana ended them rq
You can tell they're just losers who think they can patronize girls for something every freaking body has issues with, they sound old and sexist at the same time.
love yeri for better skin Yes, but it’s different. The people were implying that only ladies look at their phones. Which is completely false. Ariana states “we can all learn”.
@@lincolnb2244
I agree that we can all learn. That's what I stand for. I just don't think that it should be okay if one gender says something but, it isn't if another gender says it.
Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals ☺️☺️
I LOVE HER
Massive respect for all these powerful women who have to deal with this awful double standard! These are the queens that are gonna make a positive effect on generations to come!
(With an exception to Katy dissing Taylor, women don't hurt other women. That's not ok. However what she said after was period.)
Ugh the Ariana one makes me so mad
Abby Folmar Bc it’s assuming that the most important things to girls are their phones and makeup like bitch guys are addicted to their phones too and also girls are so much more than that
Jay-Jay Hibbs Trust me, that question was no appropriate to ask, assuming that most of important things to girls are their phones and makeup, it’s wrong, we live in a society in which everyone is different, you can’t just assume someone by it’s gender. It’s not only her and Ariana grande that think like that, the question is just wrong.
I wonder what the guy equivalent would be. Computer games vs porn?
@@lolly9149 I got mad at Ariana but she exaggerated. It was just a question.

Damn Anne Hathaway DESTROYED that interviewer in the most classy way
What kind of question was 3:53?? Like what did you think you would get out of an actor by asking that question lol. Glad Tom Hardy handled it the way he did.
scarlett is so over sexist questions,, when the person asked a totally different question to robert you can tell they were bothered
And you could feel the shift in intellect in the 2 questions .... It's was drastic !
Scarlett has to get into a certain shape for her role in movies and RDJ does not. Asking her how she does it isnt sexist at all. People ask the Rock all the time how he is in amazing shape. no-one ever calls that sexist...
@@crompton4334 RDJ has to workout to stay the same size for the suit they put him in... Thor has to stay in shape as well... They literally had a fat body suit on him for a movie but at the end he still "lost" the weight. Nobody asks him how they stay in shape. But Scarlett always is asked "do you wear underwear under your suit" like seriously it's gross. Why don't they just ask her how is she still surviving given the fact that she has no superpowers at all? Maybe a stupid question but it takes away from focusing on her body and more on her character.
Nosipho Dywili yes! They never ask Chris Hemsworth Oh WeRe YoU aBlE tO wEaR bOxErS like just nooo
She was pissed cause no question related to nat were asked sge was just asked about her body and shape while others were asked so much about the character just imagine playing a badass women with amazing skills and just bieng asked about her shape now thats what pissed her!?!

I loved Anne Hathaway’s & Scarlett’s response to the questions about their catsuits…my whole life I have always been good at thinking of quick comebacks like this and was often sarcastic/dry when people were being unreasonably critical of me or trying to hint at something that wasn’t there. However growing up I was told by my seniors that I had an “acid tongue” and led to believe it wasn’t always a pleasant or ladylike trait to put others on the spot or highlight their hypocrisy.

This is so true, it's sad. I love that people do share their experiences through their music, but so many people hate on women doing so, which makes it pretty clear for me to know which people to avoid
Damn straight! All of these women really know who they are and how to stand up for themselves. I am proud and honored to be living in the same time as so many GREAT feminists
It must be really annoying for Scarlett to hear questions like this. She's the only girl in OG Avengers, it must be tough for her.
