Oh Gosh! So wise, and true! I was a kid in the early '70's,. We felt like we would soon be in charge, and would make things better. Now I'm in my early '60's, I've lost so many friends and Family. Life kinda slaps one into reality, we can't change the world. Just little parts of it.

I'm here because 1969 in Belfast was my childhood. I'm the same age as Ken and lived about 6 streets away from where he lived. This movie means so much to me. It's my childhood wonderful but terrifying at the same time. I remember this song as a child and reminds me of my childhood years, in the streets of Belfast. To be honest the sense of community back then was second to none. We all looked out for each other. That's gone now. No more sense of community. It definitely takes a village (community) to raise a child. Well done Ken and all the cast of Movie Belfast.

It's always amazing when a movie can take a song you've heard your whole life and change its meaning in an instant. Belfast did that for me with this one.

You're old, yes most music today is shit but you have to look further than mainstream for good music, but yea you're old. and by the way if you think making decent music on a computer is easy you are VERY wrong, its even harder with limitless possibilities at your fingertips it becomes very distracting. Go and tell bands like ERASURE and OMD who have been around since the start of the 80s they are crap, well guess what they are NOT, and yet they use computers, its about the music not the instrument, get over it man. Even Neil Diamond used synthesizers, drum machines and computers, so did Vangelis, you have no valid argument.
We had no auto-tune in the 60s so a singing voice was required. Still love and listen to music from the 50s to the 80s. Rap killed pop music for me, along with repeating the same four words. Back then songs told a story in less than three and a half minutes with no foul language. Listen to Cat Stevens, Don McLean, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, or any of the singer/songwriters of that period and you'll fall in love all over again with their sounds.

Steve went on to play his music (which I loved) and I went on to join the army. The music from the 60’s is just timeless . Glad I got to know him and Rex.

The majority of rock bands never record their own music . The music was usually recorded by studio musicians, such as The Wrecking Crew. The band members only used for publicity to sell records

Its strange how we think when we are young and listening to these guys that we will never get old. Warning to all young people listening to this and the sixties music, it creeps up on you without you realizing. My message to you is to try your best to be happy and find a good partner who can share your life.
Oh Gosh! So wise, and true! I was a kid in the early '70's,. We felt like we would soon be in charge, and would make things better. Now I'm in my early '60's, I've lost so many friends and Family. Life kinda slaps one into reality, we can't change the world. Just little parts of it.

I'm here because 1969 in Belfast was my childhood. I'm the same age as Ken and lived about 6 streets away from where he lived. This movie means so much to me. It's my childhood wonderful but terrifying at the same time. I remember this song as a child and reminds me of my childhood years, in the streets of Belfast. To be honest the sense of community back then was second to none. We all looked out for each other. That's gone now. No more sense of community.

This was my favorite version. I loved it then. Unfortunately, I did not find the love I longed for. Then, days after Christmas last 2023, I met someone. It evolved, and he took me to Spain for my 78th birthday. We were together for 15 days, caught Covid. There were times all either of us wanted was to be alone. Well, we persevered. He showed me so much.
We returned five days ago. I live in Baltimore, and he is in Portland, Oregon. My heart aches with my love for him. I believe he is God's gift. We are talking about Christmas. We will find a way. Evrlsstknv Love is not just a song. My heart is overcome with joy.

If there is such a thing as a perfectly written and performed song, this is it. Can listen to it over and over again.
We had no auto-tune in the 60s so a singing voice was required. Still love and listen to music from the 50s to the 80s. Rap killed pop music for me, along with repeating the same four words. Back then songs told a story in less than three and a half minutes with no foul language. Listen to Cat Stevens, Don McLean, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, or any of the singer/songwriters of that period and you'll fall in love all over again with their sounds.

Steve went on to play his music (which I loved) and I went on to join the army. The music from the 60’s is just timeless . Glad I got to know him and Rex.
