- In this video I will be installing a Kenwood radio into a 2002 to 2007 Jeep Liberty. Also if you could please subscribe to my channel for more amazing car related videos
If you are interested in the products I used, I listed the links below.
Radio: amzn.to/3Odhwys
Wiring Harness: amzn.to/3hEgQ94
Steering Wheel Controls: amzn.to/3Xa4oOB
Antenna Adapter: amzn.to/3V2rLYB - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Thanks for the video and links to the items necessary. I just installed the same radio in my '05 Libby thanks to your info, super easy. (minus the steering wheel controls)
Thank you for posting this, I had a radio from my old Town and Country van that I wanted to swap into my Jeep and it was a perfect demonstration.
Thank you for watching, glad everything worked out for you
@@alexautomotive28 the best part was that my aftermarket stereo had all the harnesses in place from my old van so it was super easy
This video was really well made! I hope you make more! Wish me lucky with my aftermarket stereo install!
Thanks you so much, hope your install goes smoothly
Looks like you Worked Hard, as opposed to Hardly Working lol Good job man👌
Great video. Well done....
Check out the links below this video for what I used during the install, hope everyone enjoys the video, Thank you for watching
Your the best bud, thanks.
Hi I tried to check the wire diagram for where exactly you plug the aux looking cord from the steering wheel control to the back of the radio all I have on the back is antenna, L and R, and mic but it looked like you plugged it into one of the L and R input? But which one?
I have a question about the two red wires and blk/green coming from the vehicle harness. Do they have to be splice together like you have in the video? Also there are 2 black/green wires which are ground and would those need to be spliced together?
Thank you so much my stereo is officially pimp’d
Did you have to connect amp power to power the amps in the door?
I was waiting to trun on the radio but thanks for sharing 👍
No problem 👍
I have the exact radio and vehicle(2007 Jeep Liberty) as you are replacing that already plays sirius, does this aftermarket stereo have the sirius tuner or do I need to purchase one for install? Thanks
We put in a double din radio in... what a pain that was with cutting out all the inside plastic
Is red acc or constant power ? With the 2007 infinity system
where did you wire the stand alone red wire ?
where do i find the face plate?
1) that’s an antenna cable, not a satellite cable.
2) you bought steering wheel controls that weren’t needed. Those are used when you can control your radio from the steering wheel.
Good job on the tutorial.
l had everything hooked up but no sound is coming out the speakers
Would this radio work with subs?
Do I have to saunter the wires or can I just plug it straight into my new radio?
if you have one that is plug and play that would work better and save some time
Nice
where do i get the wiring diagram
I have two for the radio. A larger rectangle plug and a small square plug.
right l have the same thing on my 2007 and the radio is hooked up but I’m getting no sound
I was about to try this same install and noticed the other smaller plug not featured in this video, did anyone figure out the problem or find a solution? My 07' liberty doesn't have steering wheel controls if that helps.
Does this install retain the use of the factory stereo amps located in the passenger doors?
Aaron Simcoe mine did, my Jeep had amps in all 4 doors and it worked great with all 4
Are the steering wheel controls required, I don’t care for all that
How long did this take you? I don’t have the volume controls on my steering wheel because the Liberty Renegade is a bit more basic so I don’t think I have to do the splicing that you did.
You might have to still splice into the wiring but you could always hook everything up first and see if you have too, this took me under an hour or so, but I have installed a couple of radios before this one
My pioneer radio harness doesn’t have an orange or blue wire. Where would I connect those colors on the other side?
I would look at the wire diagram and see if that tells you anything, it’s hard for me to say without seeing it. I hope you enjoyed the video
So what about the difference of the ohms output of the radio and the factory speakers?
Scott Ridge I’m not sure the difference ohms output I would check crutchfield. Thank you for watching
hey man, could you also put the bracket and the other things that is needed for the radio. so, Ɪ can order it on amazon?! Ɪ have the radio, but forgot to get the other things. thanks man
Great video but l hooked it all up and got no sound. The system is working but no sound is coming out what could that be please help.
Im unable to help you without seeing it in person, but i know that the amp wire will need to be hooked up because all the speakers have an amp in the doors along with them
How did you get the black thing off the antenna
I believe I left the black piece on and I bought the antenna extension to plug into the back of the new radio. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching
My 2005 radio has the red light for the alarm, what happens to this when you swap out the unit? Thanks
Thank you for watching the video, I’m unsure what that would do with the radio alarm, sorry I couldn’t help
is the steering wheel controls needed for any of that to work?
or is it optional and your choice?
i think it is a option.
@@alexautomotive28We hooked everything up but the steering wheel control and it’s all hooked up but we are getting no sound
dear Alex
i have install in my jeep liberty 2006 an android system with out steering control and i dont have a sound on speakers . what is the problem . thank you in advance
Is everything wired correctly if so is everything plugged in correctly, then also make sure your amp had power
@@alexautomotive28same don’t have the steering wheel control and l have power just no sound
Where did you get the steering wheel control?
I got mine from Amazon
I own a 04 Jeep Liberty and I tried to swap the old radio out for at the after market,,, I purchased the connector and once I hooked up the wires I got power but no sound and I tried everything what could that have been?
If you have power and the radio lights up I recommend verify the amp is working
@@alexautomotive28same thing happen to me had no sound
@@alexautomotive28same happened to me had no sound but l hooked the factory radio back up and it was working
Does the harness work with any new stereo?
I believe so because the stereo should come with its own harness to attach to it. Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed
AlexAutomotive good shit bro
My radio radio doesn't work with the overhead screen
Is it the factor radio or the aftermarket one?
@@alexautomotive28 the aftermarket
No sou d with video
I have a similar setup. On mine, Pin #13 says it is 12v Radio Output. It's the same yellow/red wire. Is that for some kind of Amplifier? I can't find a mounted amp anywhere under the dash.
Do you know what that Pin #13 yellow/red wire is for?
I’m not too sure what’s it’s for but you may have amps with speakers in your doors, that’s how mine was set up, I do also have a TH-cam video about how to change the speakers and it shows you how to transfer the amps over.
Thank you for watching hope this helps you
