- I had to STRUGGLE threw all the 9 layers IRL to get this vid out for you.
The Ultrakill video containing gameplay stuff along with lore, took me a long time to make and i hope you enjoy! I really, really hope.
One more thing, some details and aspects of the vid might be out of date, as I was midway threw making this vid, while the update came out, this I am aware that I missed a few things, but I at least tried to keep ULTRAKILL Layer 7 secret in here.

@@kquack New Blood Entertainment's whole idea is "We hate money, we love you." They put stuff in bundles so much that the deal makes it so you're buying two or three games for the price of Ultrakill. Look for one of those bundles with Ultrakill in it, and buy it. Trust me, it's worth it. The other games New Blood has published are amazing, too.

like many people my first experience was pirated, a friend of mine pried me to play it and i did. it didn't click at first but soon as i bought it and started playing it whole (now with a genuine reason, seeing as i wanted my 20 bucks worth) i've come to love it

@@2squaredtriangle the downpour DLC contains a secret campaign for a unnamed slugcat that is STUPIDLY difficult (12 food pips, Outskirts is red and everything is a red lizard, etc.) Completing it brings you to a dating sim. Look up Northflowo's animations of each of the paths.

Fun Fact: The Reason everything looks retro is because the Machine (V1) sees Hell like that to save up memory (i don't remember if it was Memory) and all the other machines see it how we see the world in 4k ultra FPS Mirage gyatt.
Actually, the only machine that looks the world in 4K is the Sentries

People underestimate just how much coincidences there are in good storytelling/creating of any kind.
From my experience trying to craft my own story, a good 70% of it just manifests itself out of the aether, and wether conscious or not, the mark of a good storyteller is recognizing those incredible coincidences and further incorporating them into the overall narrative.
The best comparison with game development i can unironically make would be the Projectile Boost, a completely unintended, absurd, and absolutely fitting mechanic that came into existence due to an oversight, and yet, Hakita recognized that the game was infinitely better with it then without and made it an official mechanic.
Rome wasnt built in a day, and neither was ultrakill, nor any other story of note.
"coincidences" are a human construct. From a deterministic standpoint, these things were just meant to happen because of all factors involved. The developer's own foresight and intelligence is a big indirect factor, coincidences happen all the time, but most of the time there's no one to make use of them. Even so, "coincidence" is a term I've abandoned in my own life and instead I've just adopted Carl Jung's "synchronicity", a much better descriptor for these "coincidences".
9:10 fun fact, if you have only one weapon your style multiplier never goes down, so you can P rank the whole game using the shotgun, but all of it has to be done with the shotgun.
Does the multiplayer go down less if you have less weapons? I personally barely use the rocket launcher so I ask this
@@TheNeorch804 it does but it only happens on the first three weapons, so like:
if you have one weapon it never goes below fresh (150% style multiplier).
if you have two weapons it never goes below used (100% style multiplier).
if you have three weapons it never goes below stale (50% style multiplier).
if you have four or more weapons it can go to dull (0% style multiplier).
also keep in mind that using different colored weapons count as different weapons.
so to answer the second question, unless you wanna simplify your kit to 3 weapons you're not getting any extra style from removing the rocket launcher.

Pirating Ultrakill is literally one of the worst sins a human can commit. But buying Ultrakill is one of the best things a human can do, so I guess that balances it out.

but my entire month of being too scared of p-ranking act 2 and training in cyber grind exclusively paid off, and even though it still took me an hour and 129 deaths, i finished it! and it was actually pretty fun. it only became tedious when i had to fight sisyphus.

My first ever Minos kill took 130ish retries (violent), when brutal dropped I went ham and it pains me to say it, it took 195+ major assists (because I needed to sleep and wanted to finish so I would know how many tries I did) Minos is definitely no joke... two days later I P him with sawtrap... what a joke.
Pro tip if you’re bad at the game and struggling with a boss fight as well as don’t care about ranking use the chainsaw mode of the shotgun and hold it the ability down and chase the boss around the arena (sounds harder than it actually is) it makes you practically immortal as well as dealing absurd amounts of damage
So i had a thought about what may have caused the actual complete death of humanity, what if Hell actually "escaped" and made all the machines turn on the humans?
Hell already seems to be able to control the other machines, and the ARG log from P-2 seems to suggest that mankind was trying to prevent Hell from escaping.
Hakita even mentioned that V1 is not the main protagonist, and at the beginning the "mankind is dead, blood is fuel, Hell is full" is written in red.
At the very least Hell could have persuaded the machines to kill humanity.
Adding this to my list of ultrakill 1 hour long video essays that I've watched through completely...
Side note, what is the song you used at 24:18? The opera sounding one where you talk about the rail gun. It sounds familiar but I can't quite figure out what it is
