Pioneer XDJ-1000 HID Mode with Traktor

- Native Instruments have opened up Traktor to the XDJ1000 with their latest beta so I thought I would give it a go. Version 2.7.5 Beta
This video covers how i connected it and the features that are available on the XDJ1000 when using it with Traktor.

Love this love this! I was hugely disappointed whent the XDJ1000 was released and no talks of HID support for Traktor but maybe later for Serato.
I use Traktor and sometimes hook a buddy CDJ2000Nexus and they work beautifully in HID mode.
If something should happen to my 1200's, I will definately get a pair of XDJ1000s.
Great video! Hopefully a full version will be out supporting HID mode for the XDJs!
Serato is also supported and will be my next video. I'm sure Traktor will come out of beta soon

I'm finding it ok although to be honest I'm trying out all sorts and having a play with Rekordbox too.
There's a lot to love about Traktor but I'm also having fun with some Rekordbox'd tunes on a memory stick and going back to manual mixing rather than letting traktor do the work. It's fun!
Awesome! I totally understand. There's truly something special about Rekordbox with Pioneer gear. You'll eventually figure out which workflow is best!
Thanks for this. Decided to take the plunge. Been using an S4 with traktor in bars last few years, but want to get used to CDJs to be more flexible and expand venues I can play in. Think adding one to my setup will get me used to the Pioneers nicely. Later will probably add another and get used to using rekordbox also. Just to give me more flexibiltiy playing out, and for fun.

Hello Dave. Thanks for this video. I am just considering what equipment will i buy to renew it a bit from decks-only play to meet the expetations of these times. XDJ 1000 looks like the right thing as i am traktor user. I have a question about formats xdj 1000 can play. Wondering if xdj 1000 can play flac file format trough traktor. Probably it isnt any issue as NI (traktor) supports it but just for to be shure. (as they "flac´s" are not supported while playing from usb).
Might seem like a dumb question but will the mixer work still? It just won show up in traktor? Or do you need a mixer with a sound card?
You can use any mixer but if that mixer does not have a built in sound card you'll need to get a sound card to sit inbetween the laptop and the mixer.
Dave, Thanks for the video above. i have a question, how would i set up 2 xdj 1000 mk2 / K2 allen heath controller and a xone 92 mixer? Im a struggling the get the xdjs to connect to even play sounds from traktor. Can you help?

No, I bought one and it's not possible. But you can map it manually with this tsi-file

Great video!!Question:How do i set hot cues to anything other than 2, 3 and 4 from Traktor to the XDJ-1000?See I have set cue points on my whole collection In Traktor and the 1st hot cue it s very important for me .Also the bult in soundcard is so good as cdj-2000 ??Thanks a lot

Great video, mine will be here on Friday. So are you telling me your using this WITHOUT a traktor box, just the latest traktor software? I'm currently using serato with 1210's, but if I could use traktor without buying another box (like serato) is move across!
Traktor does not require a box specifically unless you are using time coded vinyl or CDs. Then you would need a compatible sound card such as the audio 4.6,8 or 10
In this configuration there is no timecode.
Everything is HID, just connect usb and from the laptop into a mixer. You'll need an external sound card for your mixer or something like the djm850 that has one built in.
I am in the process of trialing Serato DJ but overall it's very similar.
I may do a comparison video if I get time.

Regarding Serato I've been told by serato support that I just need seraro dj as there is no timecode and my mixer is now supported.
why dıd you say that dont use at your gıgs?

You need the very latest version of traktor which is 2.7.5
This is still in beta at the time of writing.
No traktor box is needed, but you may need to route your audio through a sound card in to a mixer depending on which mixer you have.
If you need a sound card I've had good results from the traktor audio 2 and 4.
How well the they pair with the S8.
I don't have an s8 so I don't know sorry. Perhaps send me one and I can try it for you :-)

hi from what i see u can save money buying cdjs to use with traktort,,xdj screens are nice but pc is better....bigger...but if course this is newer technology,,,
