I think you might be the best demo guy on youtube. I appreciate your time to hammer on those Cue buttons on the Perform screen. That's the kind of stuff I need to see that other people always miss.
One of the best reviews i have seen for this player. i love it I'm getting one. i have been waiting for one of these my whole life. cds have gone. its all about rekord box. if you have pioneer you can't go wrong
I have spent 1000's over the years upgrading to the next. It was clear to me when i first saw these, that they were the way to go. I have nxs 2's, but one of them has been plagued with faults on the CD player. I had it new. It went back on the warranty, but the problem came back. The digital elements of them are superb though. It's easy to see why stand alone media players are catching on. You could quite easily put a set of these up for most pro Dj's and they wouldn't mind. They are not far from industry standard. That's what makes them great. Denon SC6000's are a pretty spectacular media player to. A bit more expensive though. Fantastic demo man. I know you did it years ago but it's still very relevant.
If you're trying to establish a name in the DJ world, and want to upgrade from controllers to Pioneer this is the way to go. If you're a controller user you will really like the waveform display on this one. Get two XDJ-1000 and a DJM-750 to practice at home which will be half the price for a Pro setup, and you will be ready to play at any club/venue they book you.
Hello, thank you for your videos which I love. I have a few questions. - I'm having trouble using the beat sync option: how does it work? Do I have to click on "sync" and "master" on one XDJ and just click on "sync" on the other XDJ? Or do you just click on "sync" and "master" on one XDJ? - And about the cue points, I wonder how they appear, can we easily see when they are in the track (minutes)? I have the impression that it's less clear than when you see them on your computer. - And if you program the cue points in export mode on Recordbox, do they appear on the XDJ? - And there can only be 3 hot cues per track, right?
The MK2 DO have digital outputs: The XDJ-1000MK2 inherits high-quality audio design from the CDJ-2000NXS2. As well as analogue output terminals, a digital output sends audio without degradation, and the power supply circuit for analogue audio is completely separate from the digital circuit, reducing unwanted noise.
You mention that if you connect these to a DJM-900nxs via ethernet wire, that beat grid info will be passed to it and the effects will be in sync. My question is if I use a different non-Pioneer mixer, then the effects won't be in sync/quantized? I plan to use these with a Xone 43 and a RMX-500.
Hey MO: where did you get the MAW T-shirt ? That is dope. Also, your reviews are dead on and I thank you for them. Due to your reviews on the Traktor Z2 and Kontrol X1 MK2, I got both of them over the last three week. Keep up the great work ! I'm going to stay old school and grab 900....
MO: Got your message and I replied back to you, thanks for the update and I am trying to fix this now. BIG UPS to DJ TECH TOOLS and MOJAXX, best videos and details ever !
Why not the 900 nexus?. I think its a great sell to those club owners who don't have much to spend. It does everything u need it to do. Idk, just a thought...
Hey Mojaxx, nice review, I had been looking forward to seeing it here. According to the manual, "on this unit, in addition to AAC files encoded with iTunes® and with the extension “.m4a”, files with the extensions “.aac” and “.mp4” files can also be played." Does that mean one would be able to play the audio from MP4 *video* files in Rekordbox? Not in the offline player, but via the XDJ-1000, I mean. I'd guess not, but that would be really amazing.
Does the touch screen on the CDJ-2000 Nexus have a qwerty keyboard search too?.... I have just read you can do a needle strip (touch strip) search, where you can tap along it for each letter. Is this any good?.. The strip looks tiny, is it easy to use? Look's like in the dark in a club that would be tricky to use?.... Man I cant decide which product to go for, there are two many pioneer products out there...
+Agent Carbunkle The tracklist / search interfaces (graphically speaking) look awful when compared to an iTunes library list, where each track has art work beside it. Think pioneer need to work on this aspect I think...So at the moment I'm thinking link to an Iphone for searching for tracks.
I know nothing about how pioneer equipment works so I have some questions that are probably basic. 1. Can you link 2 of these together without the need for a router ? 2. Can you play files straight from a usb stick that hasn't been anyalised in rekordbox box. Will wave form and bpm be shown ?
The 900 Nexus has better build and the Wolfson DAC, but actually less features than the XDJ (no hot cues). I think the 900 Nexus is actually a tough sell now, sat between the 1000 and 2000 in the range, whereas before, it was a massive upgrade compared to the CDJ-850.
MojaxxVDJ that's true, but i would personal pick the 900 nxs. There are a lot of people, who play with cds and when there is the problem with the usb, you can switch to CDs and play your set. I don't know what i should think about the XDJ ...
tbh reading peoples comments on this is kinda funny people are absolutely not up 4 this let me give u a good run down. This is a cost effective version of the cdj 2000 nexus, who needs jog adjust no1 really, everyone is setting the jog to lose on the 2000 nexus and doing spin backs do u want to do the same a as everyone else and be a sheep not really. No jog light wow big deal u don't need it not even if u have a djm 900 nexus its just a feature to make it easier for people to dj. DJM 2000 has a touch screen and it is awesome works great no buttons for hot cues wow what are u really going to do with 3 hotcues any how it aint enough for finger drumming any how 3 tones at most, the brake problem can be over come by slip mode. Link these players up to serato dj and u have a beast of a setup with additional hot cues via the dicer. This deck is perfect in every way shape and form these decks are perfect in price, on screen wave forms flexibility. U are asked to perform at a club where 4 djs are playing easy u set up rekord box usb practice on these bad boys and go there where u see 2000 nexus u will be able to use the usb of that and perform easy. Just say your the only dj there that night take your laptop with serato dj and rock on please stop moaning about these decks ppl, touch screen etc its not as though u go to apple and say oh well I aint happy with the touch screen it just doesn't happy remember the old days people would say these new touch screen phones are going to be a problem well guess what they are awesome. The problem is people want as many features as possibe like light up jog why cos it helps them to dj, use ur skill and ears nothing else and look at ur channel faders
i just bought a pair of xdj 1000 and i love them.. but i have a problem, when i load a track it immediately start playing the track.. how can i change this ? i don't want it to star immediately! thank you and sorry for my bad english:)
I currently have a pair of CDJ-900s and a DJM-900NXS, and I'm looking to upgrade. How do these compare to the 900NXS players? I know I'd lose the digital out, and I do love playing with loops on my existing 900s. The big draw to the 900NXS for me is the beat divide function, which looks sick, but cue points, as well as the better screen/search functions/beat jump feature on this look have me hesitating on the 900NXS. I mainly spin drum and bass, but dip into several other genres just screwing around in the bedroom. I've also been tempted by the DDJ-SX2, but the build quality seems lacking compared to my current setup. Any pointers, guys?
I ended up getting a pair of 2000NXS decks for a pretty solid deal (only a couple hundred dollars more than a pair of 900NXS decks). The only thing I dislike about them is when using the decks in HID mode with Serato, the on-screen touch strip controlled automatic beat loops and slip loop do not appear. You have to control loops manually or with the 4-beat loop unless you use Serato Remote or another form of MIDI controller if you don't want to reach up to your laptop to control the loops. When using flash drives with the decks though, they're absolutely amazing.
Can you help me bro how's the nexus 2000 i have analysed all my tracks i still can't get a record box playing through my computer to nexus i know it's a stupid question but came from vinyl win32 cdj 900 and then went straight to the nexus need some help bro wondering if anyone can help me out there thank you very much
i always thought of the cdj products as something only for someone who actually earns money with djing, for whom they´re very good. tough professional equipment is always expensive. as for me, who just prefers mixing his music as opposed to just listen to it, these things are amazingly overpriced
I agree with you it's almost absurd paying $2000+ for a single deck but the reason it's so overpriced imo is cause the majority of people who buy them are club owners/venue owners. Therefore to them it's just another expense that they need in order to compete with other clubs, so that's why I think it's so expensive.
I've been on the fence on whether to buy two of these or the RZ as someone who does Club gigs and also private events, can anyone give me some advice? or perhaps anyone who has owned the XDJs
Why do you even need a jog wheel? I could just scratch along a waveform on the touch screen. In that case, I would need to increase the size of the screen to, i dunno, 9.7 inches. Then maybe rename the product to something hip and refreshing, like "the ipad".
the one thing that im unsure about the xdj1000's is the que buttons. i feel like it would be difficult to function them while needing to set up your track or beat hop between it. if anyone has one can you tell me how it is?

I got my pair of XDJ 1000's this week.. I love them!!! 😏

What's the difference in functionality between the 750 and 900?
Mostly the effect options and the filter knobs. But after two or three tracks into your mix you will get use to it.
Hello, thank you for your videos which I love. I have a few questions.

Thanks foe the vid. Im playing on a XDJ-1000 next week and wanted to know if exFAT will be ready by it? TIA
got 2 and i love them!
Could we get a xdj 1000 mk2 review? looking into buying a new set and would like to weigh up the difference.
The HID mode on this makes it way better than the MK2 version
Hey MO: where did you get the MAW T-shirt ? That is dope. Also, your reviews are dead on and I thank you for them. Due to your reviews on the Traktor Z2 and Kontrol X1 MK2, I got both of them over the last three week. Keep up the great work !

you give the best reviews. Keep up the good work
Great & Honest Review. I think I'll just snag a pair of XDJs for now.
any chance of a update using serato in HID mode please :)

how does the touchscreen feels? is it very sensitive or is it more like a resistive touchscreen??
Gifted reviewer, thank you!
Nice review!
Cheers Konix!

Yes to all of that
How can I change the color from the XDJ-1000 player screen to darker like in this video ? The buttons etc looks like a dark mode. Any Tipps welcome
Hey that is nice. I got a question where I found the cost of shippining to mexico of a midi fighter 3D?
Please answer me
Do these have the relative key function, as seen on the cdj2000nxs range?
Why should i buy a XDJ 1000, when the 900 nxs is near the same price, but have a bit more features?

The pioneer cdj 900NXS is €1400 and the pioneer xdj 1000 is €1000, so there is a difference ( that prices are in west-europe)
FeestDJ Rens Not here in Germany. A cdj 900NXS costs 1100 euro. They are more or less the same price..
Here in Holland, the pioneer cdj-900NXS is 1400, I think i get one in Germany, hahaha
Fabitalism

man I didn't understand a shit of what you are saying. Use punctuation, it is really worth.
What about Master Tempo? The same quality as on the Nexus line or is it cracking and popping as the 850?
i just bought a pair of xdj 1000 and i love them.. but i have a problem, when i load a track it immediately start playing the track.. how can i change this ? i don't want it to star immediately!
thank you and sorry for my bad english:)
Will the loading time change if you use a USB 2.0 or a USB 3.0?
Awesome review, thank you very much.
Will it play Candy Flip?
it is build with autoplay list? thank you for support and help

Does it work with remotely Remotebox for the ipad or ios devices?
Nice review !
songs can be sorted by BpM?
Does the keyboard function work in link mode? Thanks
Is there a traktor mapping for these yet?

Don't worry. By May of 2015, you can probably get two of them for around 1k. If not, hey! Get yourself a DDJ - SX2 :-)
Limin i think i'll go with a mix of Traktor and vinyl
i still dont understand why it wouldnt replace cdj 900 nxs??
you can't even compare this to cdj , because it can't read cd's . So therefore can't replace cdj 900 or even cdj 350. it can replace xdj 700.
In 2001 I have sold my SL1200's to buy CDJ1000's.
Now I want to sell my CDJ1000's to buy SL1200's
In 2004, I brought one technics sl-1200 m3d from Guitar Center and another one from Ebay. Total was 600 USD. I am never selling those to anyone!
how do i connect it to laptop for use
Review the 700
I've been on the fence on whether to buy two of these or the RZ as someone who does Club gigs and also private events, can anyone give me some advice? or perhaps anyone who has owned the XDJs
Kinds crazy that 9 years later they are 1200 dollars each
Why do you even need a jog wheel? I could just scratch along a waveform on the touch screen. In that case, I would need to increase the size of the screen to, i dunno, 9.7 inches. Then maybe rename the product to something hip and refreshing, like "the ipad".
LMFAO imagine of the players of the future are 100% touch screen. THat would make me really sad actually. Because i like to feel the buttons.
the one thing that im unsure about the xdj1000's is the que buttons. i feel like it would be difficult to function them while needing to set up your track or beat hop between it. if anyone has one can you tell me how it is?
+pball kid You get used to them
Mo will this work with Traktor?
You can put the control signal on USB to use with Traktor Scratch, but there's no HID support.
You could use them as simple midi controllers but that would be an incredible waste of money! ;)
Kool thanx Mo!
Yes mac hope you good bro
Ok kool
Yes mac wha go on
how the hell do I delete a hot cue
How does he have Key Camelot on track selection?
5:57
Manually re-write them.
Helpful! Thx
no cds? thats fine. but no physical buttons. :(
PRO Review
can i get some track ids
very good very good video, shots, everything. Just work a bit more with pronunciation and speed, my god, that was pretty heavy job but was worth the effort. Thanks and congratulations, nice job. Really well done man.
cue points?
matthias van gysel Yes, with the touch screen. The 850 didnt have them so this is a great addition in the budget player
owh thx :)
No reason for it to be a different size, and inferior DACs and no S/PDIF. Also, a brand new, ground-up design and still no FLAC support. Inexcusable for a thousand bucks each. Not having a CD player in it is moot, because any venue that wants that would already have CD players.
0:49 "these are not a replacement to the CDJ-2000" ok I will not waste my money on this incomplete player...
best but they're also not $1,999 :)
DJ TechTools will wait for an "all in one system" ( like XDJ-RX) but with all the functions of the DDJ-SZ ;)
they have to say it so you can feel forced to buy the 2000's. Stealth marketing at it's finest.
COOL
the nexus one is outta earth budget.....No regular dj is able to buy them...
Touch screen? No way!
1000 bucks each and no hot cues? Low end shouldnt cost you 1000 bucks
it has hot cues. just not physical buttons.
ok, just only traktor
keeeewl
everyone knows the buttons on the cdjs are awful any how the amount of problems with the buttons on the cdj 2000 and nexus models touch screen lasts better no little bits to get dust into which absolutely writes off phones and technology in general buy these save a fortune even if I had the 2000 nexus ad sell them buy these and get a ps4 or summin
bedroom player... such an ugly term. especially for mobile DJs that want to go lighter. might as well call the cheap while you're at it.
Who still uses CDs? Put that shit on USB. easier to back up!
+Mac Joseph Because it requires more skills.
+Erik Hartog what skills ? having to pick it up with your hand and insert it into the cdj ? lol
+palaHD lol exactly!! CDS get scratched too.
+Erik Hartog - why would you need more skills? You control everything through jogwheel and pitch, so it doesn't matter if it is load from cd or from usb. Or?
maranezzi21 The mixing itself isn't more difficult, but when you DJ with CD's you have to know exactly where the CD's are with the tracks you want to play
I played both CD and USB and I must say I am very happy that USB has been invented. It works a lot quicker, which is essential in my opinion when it comes to double dropping a lot.
no hot cues? not even worth it
you clearly didn't watch the video
hahaha. the video specifically states that it *has* hot cues as opposed to most other budget Pioneer players.
Hot cues are on the touch screen 7:23
legod idk i'd miss the real hot cues somehow. i always find myself bashing them back and forth. dunno how that would work with touch screen ones.
Absolutely damn fake, c'mon men check ur crossfader, ur mixing two player in one channel which totally cant be done for a real spinner
