That pink yarn is to die for Leanne. I love that gorgeous hat, and your "yarn basket", haha! Nancy's sock patterns are terrific. I've knit three of them so far, and love her podcast as well. Another new podcast to try is "The Albanach knitter". Andrew is a Scot and lives on the Isle of Arran. He is very witty, and talks about the history of the area, and his geneology. He ends his episodes with a gaelic phrase and teaches us its meaning and pronunciation. I highly recommend him.
I simply could not resist those skeins! They’re OOAK too. Feel free to enact the Canadian Clause it’s internationally recognized. Although I saw your stash and it is so organized and not OOC at all
Love each episode as we walk with you on you knitting journeys!!! Bummer about your son’s hat… now you have a lovely bowl… I have heard 4th time is the charm ❤many hugs and thank you for sharing with us!!
You were such a lovely host. Missed your face!! 😆 Also, can you tell those rust cheeses of Manchelopi that I’ll be back for them …with an empty suitcase? Thankssss
Love your Mellon Collie Hat. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful town of Comox and the Wool and Waves yarn shop tour. I love that you turned the hat into a felted bowl.
Loved seeing your Wintery Wood Sock ❄️🌲 Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and I would love to have you back in the Tester crew 💖 I had a great catch up with you this morning as I was binding off my Orbits cuff
So great to watch another episode! Thank you! There is no way that I would have been able to resist that amazing pink yarn, either! Love seeing your tour (including your friend's lovely yarn shop) and beautiful FOs. I have cast on far too many things lately, including a pair of vanilla shorty socks, The Shift Cowl (Drea Renee Knits), The Easy Bulky One (Joji Locatelli) and Coffee Shop Wrap (Two of Wands). All because a woman who lives in the Lowcountry of South Carolina can never have too many woolly knits, LOL. Happy knitting!
Hi Wendy! I was absolutely powerless to resist that pink yarn, and as many people are telling me: it was my Canadian patriotic duty to purchase it. Lol. Happy knitting! You’ve got some lovely projects on the go.
Thank you Dorothy! I could NOT resist the pink yarn. Turns out I’m not the only one who has relapsed recently and I knew this community would understand 😆
You're such a lovely person, Leanne! So sincere and genuine. I recently found your channel and now I've seen all your videos which are truly a joy to watch!! Love your sense of humor very much too! Thanks for all you do! With love from Knoxville, TN 💜
Thanks again for sharing another piece of lovely Canada. Canadian wool is stellar- I have purchased and knitted with it and continue to do so. LOVE the Weekender sweater it looks great on you! Thank you for sharing Andrea Mowry's formula for achieving a great fitting sweater with correct chest circumference, I will definitely use it as you have great success with it. Look forward to next episode. Best, Carrie🧶☕💐☺
I really love your podcasts. They're a much needed respite in this fast-paced world. I love seeing where you've traveled and learning about those places. And, of course, your knitting is fantastic to see. Thank you for sharing!
It’s always great to sit and knit with you! I absolutely love the pink yarn! I think a road trip is in order!! Your weekender is lovely. I love the Canadian clause…no judgement here! My needles are busy. I’ve started a flax sweater for my husband and put it down for a moment to start a sweater for my granddaughters birthday as hers is first and I have to mail it. Last weekend I knit two baby flax sweaters for my friends twins! I knit two baby blankets. And I’m about to cast on a stuffed pig out of a new pompom for kids. It’s a great book! It’s always a great day for knitting!!
Loved seeing the beautiful scenery. I couldn’t believe you were having the same temperature as Southern Ontario. I love to cast on new things and had so many on the go. When I decided to stop casting on and just finish some, I got 4 things off the needles in the last couple of weeks! Oh boy, now I can cast on some more. What a lovely little town. Thanks for the tour
Thanks for watching Hilda! I like the idea for having so many FOs completed at once… I am becoming less of a monogamous knitting all the time, but I get a bit stressed with having more than 3 on the go.
Thank you so much for this episode! I love the Wintery Woods socks! I'm excited to try out the pattern! I also love your squishy-beautiful-cozy hat! Thank you for the mini-tour too!!
Always a delight spending time with you dear Leanne 😘 Love your beautifuly cozy Weekender 🤗 The Lettlopi socks are darling and I think I definitely need a few pairs and I purchased Nancy's Wintery Socks pattern as well and will definitely be knitting them up at some point. The yarn colour you chose for yours is perfection. I'm soooo looking forward to seeing your milled yarn when it's ready--how exciting! And absolutely agree your "Canadian Wool Clause" is legit 😂💕
🤗 Thank you for hanging out and knitting with me Nikki.. you are a sock pro in my books would whip up those Ada socks in a heartbeat! Also, thank you for co-signing my BS (er, I mean for supporting the Canadian Wool Clause) hahaha
Hi Leanne, fun as always thank you. I love the Canadian clause! Rules are meant to be broken, life is no fun if it’s 100% vanilla, and my clause is as long as no one gets hurt JUMP!!! I’m knitting away on a huge shawl, it’s more like a blanket masquerading as a shawl 🤭🤣 over 3000m on a 3.25 mm needles a nice long mindless knit. Thanks for sharing, great knits and a lovely tour, happy knitting and safe flying, Karen.
Hi. Thanks for another lovely podcast. Your friends yarn store is wonderful. Once again, I loved the tour of the town. And I love your pink yarn, no judgement 😂.
Thank you so much Solange! I knew I could count on this community to be gentle and understanding… turns out others are also relapsing and creating their own Clauses! 😆
Thanks so much Leanne! Always enjoy UR content,,you get alot in ,,, Love nancys patterns, too,,,,Have alot of them,, Love that last One! Must try toe up,,!! Elaine🏡🏡 Love the yarn bowl,,,♡♡♡
Another great podcast Leanne! Loved all the info on Comox and Cumberland. So great to see Christine and see her yarn shop and her samples. I completely agree with the addition of the Canadian yarn clause. I’ve also been to Rosebud wool mill, she is so wonderful and love the yarn you purchased, your description of the colour is right on, crackerjack pink. The 3:45 wake up call is brutal. Till next time😊
Gosh, what a wonderful episode! Thank you. The footage was beautiful. And your friends yarn store: siiiiigh. Oh yeah, I'm sooo caught by the starteritis/castonitis bug... awful. Exciting, but awful... 😆
So happy watching your episode on Family Day. It 6:30am in Toronto. The Weekend have been on my mind. After watching your episode I will cast on today. Just finished the Fairy boutique sweater. Current WIPs, DRK very day socks and Musselburgh hat. Thanks for sharing your yarns shops visited story.
Good morning to you in YYZ! Happy Family Day knitting. Love the WIPS you’ve got going. The Weekender is quite a satisfying sweatshirt in my opinion. Perfect for a chilly Calgary day today.
Love your podcasts! You are like knitting with a bestie friend when I watch your videos. The sightseeing and new knitting stores you highlight are such a bonus. I adore you and I always enjoy your comments 😂 and content! I’m knitting the LYS and DRK Everyday Socks by Andrea Mowry.
Leanne I love your podcasts and enjoy you taking us with you on your travels...enjoy seeing your knits. I have just finished my first "Let stay home socks" by Nancy Wheeler and I agree that her patterns are so well written. Take care and warm greetings from South Africa..xxx
It made my night when I found you had posted a new episode! Thank you! I laughed out loud. I too have hat problems. My son wears his beanies constantly, and they have lost their shape. He continues to wear them while i wonder what I'm doing wrong. Thank you for another wonderful post!
Cumberland is where I went to Elememtary school and my first year of Jr high. I haven't been back there in years. Looking at the footage I can see just how much that little village has changed. Some good memories in that little place
Lovely knitting with you this afternoon 😘 Aaaand I was casting on a cardigan for my husband with ta ra ta dah! Lettlopi 😂 yes 🙌 first time using it. Colour 867 Chocolate. Pattern An Englishman in New York 😂😂 I loved your lopi socks great for padding around in the house. The Weekender sweater is also so comfy looking. Great visit and great Yarn Store ! I did the Canadian Clause last week ! Purely by accident. I love your pink yarn yummy yummy. You make me smile Leanne, which is always a good thing 💕
Hi Leanne! Love your weekender! It looks fantastic on you! and that Hat from Camijo is perfection! 🤩oh and the Ada socks are so so pretty! Adding all those patterns on my never ending list! haha Your Friends yarn shop look amaaaazing!! Thank you for the tour. Cheers from the East coast my friend! 🥰🧶
I WANT to cast on a whole list of things, but I have to finish two pairs of socks so I can gift them this coming weekend. Then I will reward myself with hats, and I also have several WIP's I want to finish. Love that hat. Your sweater is lovely.
Thank you for another enjoyable podcast…..as I watch this episode, I am knitting the Cozy Cuddle-up blanket for my dear friend’s new granddaughter. I, too, love to cast on new projects, but have made it a goal to limit the number of projects that are on my needles to 3….two more complicated and one that is more suitable for social knitting.
Thanks for this episode. I quite agree there can be a made and milled in Canada exception for Ballbusting. We sure need to encourage our few Canadian mills.
Lovely podcast, thank you for bringing us along all the lovely places you visit in Canada, Leanne! I really enjoy seeing all the wonderfulness of Comex! Your test knit socks for Nancy is so beautiful! My bad for not knowing how to knit toe up! I am a monogamous knitter so I am knitting on the Everett Pullover inspired by a podcaster! I am also picking up a baby blanket again that I started last year and decided to change my mind to knit it into a twin-size bed blanket instead. Love that you have such an awesome job that allows you to see so many places! Thanks for sharing! Happy knitting and travel! ❤❤
Thank you May! You have some beautiful projects on the go. And yes I definitely won the job lottery and while some days are beyond challenging… so so worth it.
I enjoyed the information on the Comox Valley and especially the yarn shop. I have never knit socks before, but the way that you chatted up Nancy Wheeler's sock pattern I think I will give it a try. 😉Thanks for another great episode. ❤
I absolutely love the statistics that you tell about each place you visit. If it wasn’t for the freezing cold weather, I would immigrate immediately. Great place to wear woollies. I live I. Australia where we have 3 days of winter.
Hello to you and Australia. Thank you so much for your message. I appreciate it! Yes, Canada is great for those of us who love to wear our woollies… but our winters can tend to drag on at times!
Thank you for introducing me to BC, Cumberland looks like a road trip needing to happen. I love your yarn bowl, a happy accident as Bob Ross would say! It would be lovely for a potted plant too. See you soon, safe travels❤
Another great podcast. Love seeing the places you travel to. Ladder back jacquard is easy-peasy, and is perfect for dark contrast on light fabrics. TH-cam videos explain it all.
Ball Buster Clause works!! great new projects. Awsm to hear about your Vest....intrigued. Pe presently working on a Top-Down Yoke pullover. Congratulations on your wool purchase, Rosebud Awsm, can't wait to see your own yarn from Rosebud-great idea.
I haven't fallen down yet this year and purchased yarn, but I do find I really want to go to the Chicago Yarn Con at the end of March - it's the first time it's back since Covid. I think your rules include a special covid loophole, surely. As long as you cast it on this year, right? Yeah. Of course. Happy hat knitting.
So nice to see you again Leanne. You will love the Always Vest, I should have swatched mine, it was a bit loose, I should have gone down a needle size, but I still wear it. Love the felted yarn bowl, at least your Sons hat didn't go to waste and will be very useful. Love seeing the views from the air. Safe travels, see you on the next stop over. :)
Thank you for a nice visit to Cumberland. I’m glad you were able to catch up with your friend and her beautiful shop! I finished my son’s plain winter scarf, I’m one inch away from my son’s girlfriend’s beret but I’m most excited to start my daughter’s tee that will be my first attempt at color work! Watching your podcast keeps me motivated to learn this knitting skill!
Hi Lori! Oh, you are making some wonderful things. I’m so excited for your colourwork journey! Just keep stretching out those floats frequently as you go and I taught myself to knit with one strand in my left hand and one in my right and it’s so addicting. Let me know how it goes!
Another great episode, Leanne. I love your Weekender sweater!! I've got 2 pairs of socks on my needles and I'm swatching for my first sweater. Because of you, my bestie and I are celebrating my birthday with a trip to Vancouver. We'll have 4 full days of shopping and touring. Please share your favorite yarn shops, restaurants (we're foodies), hotels, and haunts. I'm bringing an extra suitcase to load up on sweater quantities of Canadian wool!!
Oh my gosh that’s so exciting your trip to YVR!! I am going to refer you to my knitting bestie for Vancouver recommendations because I’ve never fully explored allll the goodness (in fact, as a crew member I’ve only stayed near the airport! So far!) But please reach out to my friend Tracey @oliverrainknits on here or Instagram as she lived there and has exquisite taste and a nose for yarn too of course! 🤗
I dream of visiting B.C. one day--the closest I got was the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State--we could see Vancouver across the way. I need to make another Weekender--my first is also without sleeves. Currently, I am working on the Halibut Cowl (by Caitliin Hunter) as part of The Woolly Thistle Colorwork Accessories KAL (#2023twtcolorkal); hopefully I get my Bee Beautiful (Pia Trans) done before my birthday next week--fingering weight tee so there may be hope! I love the Canadian clause! Happy travels and knitting!
Hi from a fellow Canadian knitter from Niagara region of Ontario! I rarely get gauge even when using the yarn specified in the pattern. During Covid I decided to knit only from stash, so knitted swatches and chose the ‘fabric look’ I liked, then found a pattern to match this gauge and it worked well as I knitted through a lot of my Stash yarn! Thanks for a great podcast!
Well, hey, the Canadian Clause goes without saying! Bravo on your beautiful knits and good luck with your son's hat. I find gift knits a challenge but can't stop knitting them! I'm working on some toques, patterns by Sylvia Olsen, right now, and Reed and River hand warmers for this last bit of winter. I'm so happy you got to spend time in the beautiful Comox Valley. One of my favourite parts of the island. Happy knitting! Stay well xo
I am working on socks, that were to be for me, but my Mom who is 92 is raving over them so I will gift them to her! I also have a sweater getting close to finish, so the next projects are swirling in my heads!😂❤
So fun to catch up with you. Loving the weekender. I actually have been slow to cast on much these days. I am working on the Fall Pullover Sweater and its crochet. I am adding sleeves but its green and something new for me. Take care and thank you for taking us around the world
Hii Jillian!! Your knitting/crochet and spinning journey is so fun to see as well!! I wanted to comment regarding knitting with colours outside of your “usual” palette and encourage you to stay true to whatever brings YOU joy always! ✨
Always good to spend time with you. Yep I’ve been unhinged and casting on everything for a couple months. This week I may finish 2 wips?? Oh well, it’s mostly harmless 😂
Always look forward to your videos and love each one. Thank you for sharing the link to Selma's sweater math video. I always have issues with resizing patterns. Here's hoping I will have the same lightbulb moment that you had 😊. Keep well and safe travels!
Thank you so much Colette! Let me know if you have a lightbulb moment with Selma’s explanation. Isn’t it awesome that we can have a GAME CHANGER moment after all this time knitting?!
@@theknittystew Absolutely! I immediately sent the link to my mom too. Selma hasn't aged a day since that episode! I didn't go to her early episodes since I subscribed to her channel, only about a year back. Eps 12 makes me think that I should start watching from eps 1. Must be many more nuggets of knitting wisdom to be found.
It was fun seeing the owner of Wool and Waves. After you mentioned the shop I order a 5 skein Mystery Bag and it's on its way. Luckily I'm not involved in a ball busting pact although your Canadian wool amendment was a good ball busting changer. The pink yarn was worth it.
I was hooked when I came across the Kelowna Zweig episode and just finished watching all your episodes - I enjoy your patterns and yarn, wool choices and travels - I really look forward to what will become of the Hutterites' Rambouillet! I hope to see you at YYC although most of our travelling is to DEN to visit our grandkids and kids!
I can totally relate to your sons hat challenge. I knit 3 hats for my brother before he was satisfied with the size. In all fairness I did tell him to tell me how they fit and that I would keep trying to get the perfect fit. I'm knitting on all the things! I seem to be casting on and not finishing! I love the Canadian Clause, smart!!
Hi Dee! The “perfect hat struggle” has been a big part of my knitting journey. I designed a free toque for my husband called The Dave after half a dozen ‘not-quite-right’ ones.
I love the Canadian clause. After all, we need to support our local sheep farmers and mills!
It is important.. so we are basically saints aren’t we!?!!
Thank you Emma! Interestingly Andrew just showed up on my recommendations feed!
Oh! and I love your serendipitous yarn bowl!!
Another lovely episode. The Canadian clause is totally legit- how could you resist that pink!!
I simply could not resist those skeins! They’re OOAK too. Feel free to enact the Canadian Clause it’s internationally recognized. Although I saw your stash and it is so organized and not OOC at all
Love Christine & Wool and Waves, so lovely and helpful!
The best!
Pink is my favorite color so your new yarn just makes me happy! I can't wait to see what you make with it! ❤🧶❤️
Love each episode as we walk with you on you knitting journeys!!!
Bummer about your son’s hat… now you have a lovely bowl… I have heard 4th time is the charm ❤many hugs and thank you for sharing with us!!
Thank you so much Bonnie!
Thank you so much for visiting! It was so great to have you :)
You were such a lovely host. Missed your face!! 😆 Also, can you tell those rust cheeses of Manchelopi that I’ll be back for them …with an empty suitcase? Thankssss
Your weekender sweater is beautiful
You always do beautiful work ..and very calming !!
Thank you for visiting !!!😊💝
Thank you so much Debbie 😊 what a nice thing to say!
Wow! Could you possibly find out and post which pullover Christine is wearing (Wool and Waves)? It’s really stunning!
Hi Kaila! I would be happy to! Christine is wearing Zig by Andrea Mowry. Isn’t it awesome!?
@@theknittystew 🙏
Omg another fabulous yarn shop. Thank you Leanne.
You are so welcome! Thank you Orit!
The Canadian Clause is totally legit!
Love your Mellon Collie Hat. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful town of Comox and the Wool and Waves yarn shop tour. I love that you turned the hat into a felted bowl.
Thank you so much again you are a treasure and I hope to meet you in person one day!
The Canadian clause makes sense to me. Thanks for another fun episode! ❤🧶🇨🇦
🤗 thanks for validating me 😆
You look stunning in your Weekender. Thank you for the podcast recommendations.
Thank you Ceila!
Always love traveling around with you! And the Canadian Clause definitely seems legit. 🤣
Aww thank you for trekking along and co-signing my infractions! 🤗

I love Christine’s Instagram and her Valentine box from last year so cleaver. Your sweater is beautiful. But the yarn bowl 🎉🎉. Travel safely!!
Christine is soo good at her job! She’s a “knitter’s knitter” store owner
The pink yarn is beautiful! Glad you found a loophole, so you were able to make a purchase! Love the "bowl"!!
Thank you Dorothy! I could NOT resist the pink yarn. Turns out I’m not the only one who has relapsed recently and I knew this community would understand 😆

Thanks for another great visit! Love the pink yarn, such a happy color. Of course it had to come home with you! Lol
Thanks Deb. It REALLY had to come home with me. :)

I, too, love to cast on new projects, but have made it a goal to limit the number of projects that are on my needles to 3….two more complicated and one that is more suitable for social knitting.
Thank you for watching Cathleen! I like that method of not too many WIPS juuuust the right balance.
I love your podcast! Tin Can Knits has a great tutorial for adjusting patterns with different gauges--same as you described. 😊
👌🏼 I feel so free now with this ability!
Wonderful vlog again thank you so much x
Thank you so much Fiona!
Thanks for this episode. I quite agree there can be a made and milled in Canada exception for Ballbusting. We sure need to encourage our few Canadian mills.
Right Nicole! Yes. Doing our National Duty!
I enjoy your wonderful podcast, I send you greetings all the way from Southern California.
Thank you so much! Greetings to you Vivian 🤗
Love that Pink yarn. Didn't realize there was a mill near Rosebud. I see a road trip soon. Nice knits, thanks for sharing.
Roadtrip!! Yes!!
I’m so glad you got your book! It’s one of the only books that I own that I want to knit everything in it. Best purchase ever!!!
It's so good eh? What one are you leaning toward knitting first? I can’t decide!!!
@@theknittystew I’m leaning towards Pohjoian Neito. I just loves the stories too.
Love Anna's always vest. Made 2 and doing a gorgeous test knit for her now. Hope you enjoy knitting it 🙂
Oh my goodness you’ve made two hey! Her collab with Brooklyn Tweed has me giddy! Any tips and words of wisdom Re: Always Vest?
Love love love your socks!😍
Me too!! It is freezing in my house right now and they are sooo good.
I enjoyed the information on the Comox Valley and especially the yarn shop. I have never knit socks before, but the way that you chatted up Nancy Wheeler's sock pattern I think I will give it a try. 😉Thanks for another great episode. ❤
This is fantastic about trying socks! I hope you love them as much as I did. And the videos she does are really valuable.
Ladder back jacquard is amazing! I followed skeindeer knits instructions on TH-cam and, while fiddly at first, the results are amazing!
Skeindeer Knits! Of course she would have a video thank you for this. I’ll check it out.
Love that Bob Ross-ism!!
Thank you for sharing. Happy Family Day!
Thank you so much! Same to you!
@@theknittystew ❤️
Yet another lovely episode! I especially like those Lopi socks and am thinking of knitting myself a pair. Thanks.
Go for it! Thank you Janine!
Another great podcast. Love seeing the places you travel to. Ladder back jacquard is easy-peasy, and is perfect for dark contrast on light fabrics. TH-cam videos explain it all.
I’m diving in !
Ball Buster Clause works!! great new projects. Awsm to hear about your Vest....intrigued. Pe
presently working on a Top-Down Yoke pullover. Congratulations on your wool purchase, Rosebud Awsm, can't wait to see your own yarn from Rosebud-great idea.
🌟🤗 Thank you!!
Loved watching!! Hugs from Portugal! 😘
Yay! Thank you! Hello to you in Portugal!
Yes I will 100% back you on that! It’s so hard for us as knitters to resist. Sometimes it’s impossible 😆
Thank you Sue! I have cast on the Always and cannot put it down!
So great to see Christine on here ❤️
She really has curated the most wonderful selection of yarns in her store! Good luck on the hat for your son😉
I totally agree! She is a gem!
Lovely episode thank you so much ❤ love from Kuwait
Hello Abeer! Thanks for chiming in from Kuwait! That’s so cool.
@@theknittystew Thanks so much for the referral. I'm going to contact her pronto!
Looove the pink elephant yarn 🧶
I couldn’t resist honestly
Ladder back Jacquard is wonderful and so easy! I recommend the tutorial by Suzanne Bryan…have fun!
Thank you for that!
I always enjoy your content.❤️🇨🇦
I appreciate that!
Another great podcast! Love Christine miss her at Stash.
Same!
We have very similar tastes in patterns Jessica! Hope you make it up here .. bring an empty yarn suitcase! 😆
Thanks Karen!
Thank you Catriona! I am craving to cast on some fingerless gloves lately. Happy knitting to you.
I am working on socks, that were to be for me, but my Mom who is 92 is raving over them so I will gift them to her! I also have a sweater getting close to finish, so the next projects are swirling in my heads!😂❤
Aw you are a good daughter! And I would imagine anything your 92 yo Mama asks for she darn well gets 😂 🤗
All your knits!!!
I hope so too!
@@theknittystew thank you so much Leanne 💕 and thank you for watching!! I needed to hear this!!
Enjoyed this episode as I always do! The Weekender looks great!
Thank you!!! 🤗 🌟
Thank you for a great episode. I love the way you fill it up with content. No wasted moments.
Thank you so much for that - I appreciate it! 🤗
Always good to spend time with you. Yep I’ve been unhinged and casting on everything for a couple months. This week I may finish 2 wips?? Oh well, it’s mostly harmless 😂
We could be up to worse shenanigans couldn’t we!?
Yay Barbara! Enjoy your Mystery Bag! Oh I have come up with more amendments since too 😂 I am hopelessly addicted.
I watched one of your earlier podcasts asking for recommendations for uplifting videos. TH-cam- Green Renascence is life changing❤
Wow, thank you! Looking up now!
Do you have a favourite episode ?
I absolutely adore your channel! The projects, the energy. Thanks for sharing!❤
Thank you so much Ellen! That makes me happy to read!
Oh my gosh thank you Diane!! Watch for me in your travels!! Wouldn’t it be neat to run across one another at the airport?!!
I always love seeing your recommendations! I am in Lethbridge and loved hearing about your interaction with the Hutterites close to down here.
Hi Meagan it was a great excursion down there! Beautiful country too.
