    I never miss one of your episodes. They are wonderful and informative. And to top it all off, you make a tribute to your first nation people. I am so impressed. And one of the many very kind things I notice Canadians doing,and that is what makes them so special.

    So glad Quinn is okay! When my partner and I were living in New Orleans a few years ago, our cat also went through another dimension. We thought he had gotten out during a tropical storm and spent an hour looking for him in hurricane force winds. He was sleeping in a closet. Love your podcast, and I really love that you talk about the first nation people wherever you are. I'm Lakota and it's really great that you take the time to do so. Happy knitting!

    Oh my gosh, our cat, Rosie, did that. She got into my son's bottom drawer and was there for 24 hours. We were devastated and even door knocked the neighbourhood. for a cat that never left the house or yard, we were sure she had been hit by someone or stolen. The next night, when our little boy was to have a bath, we pulled out his drawer to get his pjs and out came rosie. :-0 We were all crying and amazed that she did not wake him in the night or all through that next day. The vet said this is typical of a cat who is nesting and may have a phantom pregnancy phase that only lasts a day. how amazing!

    • @theknittystew
      @theknittystew  ปีที่แล้ว

      OMGOSH that is very interesting!! I wonder if Quynn was having that phantom pregnancy/nesting instinct. Typically she comes racing at the slightest shake of the treats and that didn’t make her come out. What a happy story!!

    Hi Leanne, I'm grateful for your calm (even when cats go missing), informative, and very interesting podcast! I love your intentionality. Your knits are beautiful and your journey is inspiring. I also was born in Edmonton but have called Red Deer home for the last 34 years. The fact that a Calgarian put Oiler footage at the end of her podcast says a lot about your character. I salute you❤

    Hi Leigh-Ann! I'm so glad Quinn was found. We recently have lost two of our feral cats. We seem to get feral cat colonies in threes. The last group we had, we lost two and the third one is now a house cat. This latest group of three, two have been missing for about week. We know that Jack visits other houses, but Eve normally stays here. But they are both gone now. Although Bobbi, who mostly lives in our garage (which is really a 100+ year old house from a great uncle) has been visiting on the porch and sunning herself. We have two indoor cats, Bella and Meg. Meg was the former feral cat (an orange tabby) and Bella we adopted when she was 4 from the ASPCA. We are hoping the other two show back up. While we are not as cold as you, we did just have a snow storm drop 10+ inches.......I love your vest! I just got yarn to make Thea Colman's new one called Goldwyn Folly. The pattern photo, they used a dark green yarn. I got a similar color. However I am trying to finish up some WIPS first.....sorry this turned into a book!

    Always happy to see a new episode is available. Love that vest. It might have to end up in a granddaughter's collection. Or a husband's. I could feel the relief when you updated us that Quinn had reappeared. Cats have this annoying ability to shift the space time continuoum (sp?). I think they just like playing with our minds.

Alberta is on my bucket list of places to visit especially Banff, and now Edmonton just to see that store! Can't believe their selection of yarn- amazing! And you have a great friend there to boot! Knitting is so grand🤗 Love Isabel Kraemer's designs on Ravelry. Oh Leanne, I'm soooo glad to hear that Quinn returned from her Narnia trip safe and sound from her Narnia trip 😂❤
    I completely feel your pain on the hat-knitting for kids! A little while ago, my daughter lost the hat I had knit for her and I promptly set to knitting another using different yarn as I couldn't get the original. 3 hats were knit that weekend and none of them were to her liking 😂 In the end she found her lost hat at school and all was well. I always look forward to seeing your latest podcast and I’m so happy when a new one pops up. I too have second sock syndrome and as a result had almost quit making socks but I have discovered a happy solution that has made me enjoy making socks again. I make both at the same time. I use 2 sets of 4 dpn’s or 2 small circumference circulars. I cast on the toe then go to the next one and do the toe. Then the foot, heel, leg then ribbing, alternating between the two. The best part is that when you’ve finished your first sock, all you have left to do is the ribbing on the second one.

    So glad that Quinn is okay. Pets are such a joy, but also such a worry. I was so surprised when you held up your tag from Long Way Homestead. I bought a skein at Baaad Anna’s in Vancouver a few years ago and had just used it to knit a hat for a friend. I am also trying to knit through my stash. When I bought the Long Way Homestead skein I seem to remember being told that the previous owner of Baaad Anna’s Knitting shop was producing this yarn.

    What a funny little kitty you have, I'm glad he was ok. Edmonton looked like a lovely place to visit, I'm glad you got to enjoy some time there for a little adventure.
    As far as summer tops go, I've got spring on the brain as well and have added a few ideas for myself.
    I've narrowed it down to these 3...
    Desert Spring by Jessica Mcdonald
    Salty Air Tee by Samantha Guerin
    Aster Tee by Megan Nodecker
    But I still have time since I'm trying to finish up a pair of socks and a shawl at the moment. So I hope to cast on one of the above patterns by April 1st.
