Congrats on your sobriety, that's awesome!! Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories of Paris. I love everything, but that's probably because my late husband was French. I remember when knitting wasn't a fad & shops were closing, having sales etc. That's going back 30/40 years. My mother-in-law knitted a beautiful colorwork sweater for me. Actually, everyone in the French family knit the same pattern since it was a pattern from "Elle" magazine, that we subscribed to. I had studied French in high school & college. My late husband was alcohol free from 1981 till he died. Never even ate co vine, can't spell that's chicken cooked in wine, that's how careful he was. It takes a lot of self control, courage to stay sober!! BRAVO 👏
I think you look tres chic in your Frisky Leaves Tee and pretty dress, mon ami. Your Kentia & Guthrie Hat are glorious. And I think the Misurina will be gorgeous and so precious with Jackie's love and sunlight infused yarn. I love seeing the cities through your eyes and I want to eat my way through all of those bakeries! 😘
Ooo-la-la! Thank you so much for giving us a tour of Paris! That's as close as I'll ever get, and it was awesome! and you look so chic with your updo and earrings. ☺
I love paris, especially the food, markets and the Dorsey museum. One of the best things we did was an “eating Europe” food tour. We got to explore some unusual areas with a guided tour, try fabulous cheeses, meats and breads. Wonderful memories and i cant wait to go back and order a croque madame at the little restaurant just over the bridge on the Ile de paris island in the middle of paris where the burnt remains of the Notre Dame are being restored. You must go back and explore that area it is magical. Thankyou for bringing those memories back to me!
Happy Birthday. 11 years is a really big deal! I love your channel, your beautiful knitting, and all your stories. Keep up the great work! ~Cindy S. (SB 1/7/83)
Your footage of Paris is so pretty, I hope you get to return. Congratulations on your blue 🌙 sobriety! I have so much respect for anyone who recognizes when a change is needed and acts on it. Yay for perseverance! Your FO’s are beautiful, love the beanie. Happy knitting!
Thank you Stew, your footage of Paris is stunning, and you have made me change my mind about Paris. It looks beautiful! And your sweaters are worthy of the Parisienne style. I just bought wool to knit the sweater on the cover of knitting Kalevala. It will be my first colourwork sweater, so I went with the bulky one first. Can’t wait to make the one you are knitting, and several others in that book. Congratulations on 11 years, so great! I am hoping to leave alcohol behind , it is pressure from friends that make me think it will be hard. Gonna stick to it though, as I don’t have that many social occasions. They will just have to get used to it! Take care, happy knitting, Melissa.
Thank you Melissa! That’s a great way to start colourwork! Just remember to stretch out your floats as you go and you will be golden. Honestly your GOOD friends will totally get used to you being the fun sober person who can enjoy a mocktail and feel great about the choice to leave alcohol behind. It can be awkward at first, but I find that it is typically only those who are questioning their own relationship with alcohol that press the issue when we choose not to drink.
Leanne, congratulations on your 11th year of sobriety. That’s a wonderful accomplishment! All your knit items are beautiful as always & I loved seeing Paris through your eyes. I’ve looked forward to your posts since your very first one. Take care, have fun & enjoy life. ❤
Thank you for a beautiful podcast. The footage of Paris and other destinations is lovely. Congratulations on your sobriety anniversary. Your knitting is so pretty. I admire anyone who works as a flight attendant. My hat is off to all of you. I imagine your peaceful demeanor is a boon to your company and the passengers everywhere.
Congratulations on your sobriety anniversary!!! That's great! 🎉 Love your podcasts and love going along with you virtually on all your trips. I don't travel personally....so I love seeing all the places in our beautiful world. Thank you!
Thank you for the beautiful footage of Paris, I miss traveling so much. I have not left Canada since Covid and I am getting the itch. Congratulations on you sobriety anniversary! 🎉 My hubby has been sober for 27 years, I know how important it is.❤
Paris looks beautiful, thank you for sharing. Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety. Every year is an accomplishment. I am a hand spinner and knitter. When I began spinning, it was therapeutic. Now I want to knit with my handspun and try to achieve the various yarn weights. I’ll be keeping an eye on your Misarina. The handspun you were gifted is so lovely and I hope works out well for this project. Thanks so much for podcasting! Terry, Knutsford BC, Canada
Oh la la Paris! Beautiful footage Leanne, and wonderful knitting. Loving your Misurina, such a special skein of gifted yarn, what a memory that will be. Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety, 🤗.fantastic! Happy travels to you and all your adventures, Thank you for sharing. I love having a front row seat at my computer to watch it all. lol! Take care. 🤗
Congratulations on your 11 years, Leanne, that's awesome! Thank you for taking us through Paris with you. I had a couple of days there during the same holiday in which I visited Dublin and totall fell in love. Such a beauriful city Take care till next time x
Just wanted to let you know you looked just like a Parisian in your beautiful sweater. It is no wonder the ladies in the shop admired you in it. I envy your adventures. Love your podcast.
What a beautiful testimony of a life changed. My husband and I embraced abstinence from alcohol and drugs not because we had a problem but because we wanted to be a witness that life is better without. Thank you for sharing, you never know who’s life you have touched. Love your knitting style. I too am a beginner spinner (Turkish drop spinner only) I always wanted to learn as I took classes well into my 60’s. it’s never too late. I don’t produce much but pleased that I accomplished a new skill. Loved seeing Paris with you. See you soon 🧶🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed Paris, even with the not so beautiful weather we had in August (but it is much better than when it is really hot). it's true about women not being allowed to wear pants (but it was a national law, not just for Paris). And no one has respected that law for ages ! And the bakery who wins the competitiion of the best baguette will be the bread supplier for the Palais de l'Elysée (president of France) during a year. And concerning the metro, I think it is one of the easiest I have experienced in the world. Defintly try it newt time.
Congratulations on 11 years!!! I still remember last year when you said "I gave up one thing to have everything!" How wonderful you can be in Paris for this milestone - even though it is a short layover. I enjoy your podcast, the tours and your knitting. Thank you and safe travels.
Wonderful podcast. With regard to gauge I find that stranded knitting results on a denser gauge than plain knitting. I also wash and block my swatches.
I absolutely adored your depiction of Paris as it aligns very much with my romantic notions of the city. I very much hope to be able visit one day, but until then I am glad to be able to visit with you! ❤
Your video of the Eiffel Tower was great. All the photos of the tower have been from a distance. The up close view was very nice as it showed the detail of the design.
Congratulations on your 11th Sobriety Anniversary !! Mine was August 24th - 40 years!! Yay for us !! Life is Good!! Been knitting forever and following you since you started this podcast - always enjoy……❤
Next Paris trip get some help from the hotel staff and maybe even the yarn store staff. They can help you get on the right metro line and make it easy. I got myself on a tram in Toronto and was feeling pretty smug after the first transfer until the tram later went right instead of left. So I requested the next stop, crossed the street, double checked my tram line numbers, waited, waited and finally the right one came and deposited me 4 blocks from a lovely yarn shop. My daughter was doing her own thing that day checking out a possible university and I did manage a lovely, if longer than expected, adventure of my own. Of course there wasn't a language barrier. That would be a bit intimidating. And Paris is so lovely to just walk around in and just see it. You can't see it while underground. Love seeing your knits every time. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your footage. I love Paris! I hope to return someday. When I went to Paris I was not yet a knitter. I cannot wait to return for the yarns! We rode the metro everywhere. Super easy and very safe even late at night.
Thank you for sharing this layover in Paris! Your knitting is gorgeous also. I’m excited to see how everything turns out. Your camping trip was so beautiful! Take care dear.
Congratulations 🎉 I appreciate your transparency. I gave up alcohol for many reasons and I have no regrets! I do have a problem with yarn though. I’m sure I can’t possibly live long enough to knit it all. I love the footage and so appreciate your efforts to share your experiences with us! Thank you 😊
Oh I can RELATE !!! Definitely channeled my inner addict into yarn. And way to go on giving up the alcohol… way more harmful that a cupboard full of wool 🤩
Bonjour Leanne! Congratulations on your 11 years of sobriety and what a way to celebrate it but in Paris! I hope your training goes well. Safe travels and happy knitting.
Congrats on your anniversary. A health issue popped up that required a medication which necessitates avoiding alcohol so I am 8 months and a bit alcohol free. I had a dose decrease which allows me some alcohol but I have elected to stay sober for now. Thank you for sharing your trip to Paris with us.
Leanne your frisky leaves looks so good and it suits you beautifully! It looks like you had a wonderful time exploring Paris and I'm so glad you could bring us along.
Thank you so much for the trip to Paris! My husband and I went there several years ago. We went everywhere on the Metro and the train system. It was easy to navigate. As I recall each subway car had a map of the city so you could follow your travel to ensure you are headed in the right direction. We did not eat one meal in a fancy restaurant, we are vegetarian and it was too hard to ensure our dietary needs were met. We picked up food here and there. The bakeries are wonderful! Thanks for sharing. Your knitting is wonderful. 💜
Leanne thank you for taking us to Paris, what an adventure! I love the way you show us your travels and cities you visit. Awesome knitting too . Congratulations on your sobriety anniversary too. ❤
Congratulations on so many wonderful accomplishments. But especially, I wish you a Happy 50th birthday and 11th Sobriety Anniversary. The yarn your friend spun for you is indeed a precious gift. I learned how to knit while I was an exchange student in Angers, France, in 1985. The yarn shops were small like the one you showed, but so beautiful and on every corner. Inspiration to the loveliest extremes. Thank you for taking us with you.
First, congratulations on your sobriety and your openness with this issue! Second, thank you for the fabulous footage of Paris. I was lucky enough to spend 12 days there in April. I did get to Lil Weasel where I purchased Ulysse yarn for a sweater. I also visited Les Tricoteurs Volants, which is an adorable little shop. I did not know about the shop you went to. Third, your finished objects are beautiful, and I'm entranced with your WIPS. Good for you for being adventurous to put 2 patterns together, and how blessed are you to have a friend who gives you homespun yarn!! Gorgeous! Finally, good luck with those nasty tickets! Can't wait to see where you are next!
Aww Patrick I am very touched to read that. When I edit my videos afterwards I sometimes cringe and annoy myself. Not sure why we humans are so hard on ourselves. Hope the planets all stop “retrograding” so we can feel right as rain 🤗
Congrats on your accomplishment! Good for you. Paris has remained my favorite city since I visited for the first time in 2006. I was lucky to live in France for a few years; I would take the TGV from Bordeaux and spend my Saturday walking all day before the train back. Pure joy!
Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety! I’m sure you inspire others to do the same. You are a very accomplished knitter and I’ve enjoyed seeing the world through your eyes. Thanks for all you do!🎉
Congratulations to you on your sobriety anniversary! So glad you got to spend it in a special place. As always I enjoy seeing your travels-in my former pre child life, I got to travel but that hasn’t been the case for a while now so I feel a bit as if I’m getting to see the world through you. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I never take this travel for granted! I can’t believe my children and grown up now and I can fly for up to 5 days without it being a problem for anyone. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that I’m in this season of life.
Thanks for the lovely footage of Paris. I love Caitlin Hunter's colour work patterns too. I've knit the Jupiter and Navelli tops, and I'm currently knitting Ghost horses. I have yarn to start the Misurina next!
Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety. I’m so glad you had more energy this trip, both for yourself to enjoy Paris and for footage for us. Beautiful projects as usual. The Frisky leaves Tee turned out so pretty.
Good morning Leanne, Loved your episode of Paris, what a beauttiful place! I have never had the chance to go there so your episode was a welcome one to watch by this armchair traveler! I loved the yarn shop, it was impressively well stocked with what looked like plenty of sweater quantities of every color. That's my kind of place. Your new sweaters you are working on were beautiful and I can't wait to see them as you make progress. I also have the pattern Bright Side in my collection and I was very interested in your custom touches you are adding to it. Very creative and inspirational from you! A workhorse of a sweater. I just finished my socks and working on my daughter in law's sweater now. Really motivated to complete it because September is here and I want her to be able to wear it as soon as the weather gets cooler. Then I can start Zwieg!!!!!! Congrats on your alcohol free anniversary! You made a really good personal decision to help you grow as a person and we all benefit from your journey! Thank you for your determination. You are powerful because you 'know thyself.' Have a wonderful weekend. PS your camping trip in Alberta was charming.......a 'knitting fireside trip', the best kind! Carrie from the N. San Francisco Bay Area
Congratulations on another year of sobriety! Good for you, Leanne. Thank you for showing us around Paris. As always, your knitting projects are so inspiring. I think that the misurina is the perfect pattern choice to show off your friends handspun gift. Take good care.
A truly beautiful podcast. The shots of Paris were great to see and the yarn shop had some amazing colours. Love the two tops that you have completed and I will be looking at those patterns. Your works in progress are inspirational. Congratulations on your 11 years sobriety and your openness in discussing the subject. 🇬🇧
How wonderful to see you in Paris! In college a spent a month there. I had no money, so didn’t get a single dinner at a restaurant. Instead, each morning I would buy one baguette and two pieces of fruit. I’d split the baguette into thirds, eat one for breakfast, one for lunch and one for dinner with a piece of fruit mid morning and one mid afternoon. 30+ years later and I’m still hoping to experience a culinary tour of Paris. Congratulations on another year of sobriety! Loved seeing the beautiful footage of your camping trip in Alberta. ❤
Happy Sobriety Anniversary Leanne! What better place to celebrate loving yourself than in the city of love, Paris! Thank you for all the beautiful footage. It was wonderful!❤🧶🧶❤️
Thank you for sharing about your sobriety. Congratulations on this very significant achievement. It’s apparent in your podcast that you are a person who is clear-headed (other than the appropriate fatigue) and you bring so much of your true self to every episode that you record. I’m just so happy for you! ❤
Ah, Paris… I never get tired of it, been lucky enough to visit that wonderful city 9 times. If you ever come to Quebec City in one of your travels, you will definitely find similarities! I would be happy to meet and show you around my hometown. Thank you for another wonderful podcast, happy knitting! 🧶😊
Another lovely episode! Brought back memories of my trip to Paris and love all your knits, travel talk and life talk. Happy you are in such a beautiful place - geographically and in life.
Congratulations on your 11th anniversary of sobriety! I love watching the videos you take from the cities you visit, and it's so nice that you are now showing us places from around the world! I'm so happy you fought your tickets. Most people wouldn't. From what I've seen, judges are pretty kind, down to earth people. No personal experience, other than I served on a jury 3 months ago.
Holy moly Leanne, so much to comment on! Thanks for your quick Paris tour - your filming, editing and narration skills are en pointe. 😉 Your Misurina is going to be a show-stopper! But most importantly, sincere congrats on your sobriety birthday - good for you, Leanne. 👍🏼
Ahhhhhhh-Paris!!! One of the best sightseeing vacations I have ever been on!!! I'd go back in a heart beat! Loving your overseas adventures and what a lovely place to celebrate your 11th year of sobriety...life is good
Hi Leanne, thank you for another great podcast. I love Paris and can't wait to see where your next adventure takes us!! Happy 11th anniversary... well done, amazing lady!
An awesome episode Leanne! Your completed sweaters and hat are so lovely. The tour of Paris was so cool. Congratulations, Leanne 11 yrs but 1 day at a time. Its how I feel about not smoking for many years. Have a great flight home
thank you so much for the bright side sweater pattern info :))
BRAVO 👏
Thank you so much. What a beautiful message!
Yay Paris , how lovely !!!! Your projects are also lovely !!
Thank you so much!
I was going for chic!!!! 🤗 Next time I should bring an empty lunchkit and bring back one of each from those bakeries!
Dear Leanne, Happy, happy birthday! Congratulations. What a treat to see Paris with you. Lovely lace and colorwork knits, too. xo
Thank you so much Janet’

Thank you for sharing your trip to Paris with us.
👌🏼 It’s a good thing for women to assess from time to time even if it is strictly from a health standpoint. I know I ‘reverse aged’ at least 10 years!
Leanne your frisky leaves looks so good and it suits you beautifully! It looks like you had a wonderful time exploring Paris and I'm so glad you could bring us along.
Thank you for the inspo to make it!!
11 years…what a wonderful anniversary!!!! ❤

Leanne thank you for taking us to Paris, what an adventure! I love the way you show us your travels and cities you visit. Awesome knitting too . Congratulations on your sobriety anniversary too. ❤
Thank you Eleanor!!
Awesome! Thanks Liz!
I always enjoy the beautiful videos of all the cities you visit. And of course also your knitting. 😄😂 Thank you for this. And until next time.
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful beautiful knits. The footage around Paris took me back to a trip with my sister….Such fond memories….❤. Happy anniversary 🎉
Thank you ☺️
First, congratulations on your sobriety and your openness with this issue!
Thank you so much for this thoughtful message! It’s comments like this that make me feel connected and happy
You cheered me up today Leanne when I was feeling in a bad mood. Thank you and i owe you a coffee ! Cheers from Jasper. ❤
Pure joy!
Thank you!
Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety! I’m sure you inspire others to do the same. You are a very accomplished knitter and I’ve enjoyed seeing the world through your eyes. Thanks for all you do!🎉
Thank you so much for this message Laura!
O to be young, a flight attendant and in Paris! ❤❤❤❤❤
I haven’t been back since this episode. But oh what an experience!
Happy sobriety birthday, Leanne. What a lovely anniversary gift to be given - a trip to Paris! Loved the footage.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for the lovely footage of Paris. I love Caitlin Hunter's colour work patterns too. I've knit the Jupiter and Navelli tops, and I'm currently knitting Ghost horses. I have yarn to start the Misurina next!
I swear they are all on my list!
😘😘🥹🥹 loved every minute of this you gorgeous being you!! And congratulations on 11 years!
Thank you so much Selma !! 🤗 🤗 Hope you are having a blast in Toronto!!
Congratulations on 11 years of sobriety. I’m so glad you had more energy this trip, both for yourself to enjoy Paris and for footage for us. Beautiful projects as usual. The Frisky leaves Tee turned out so pretty.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you Carrie!!!
Leanne, thank you, so much, for sharing Paris with us. I enjoy your travels and knitting.
You are so welcome!
Congrats, Leanne, on your Sobriety Anniversary!! Thanks for another GREAT episode.
Thank you! 😊
Lovely travelogue and beautiful knitting, Leanne. And congratulations and thank you for sharing your sobriety anniversary 🎉❤
Thank you! 😊
Congratulations on another year of sobriety! Good for you, Leanne. Thank you for showing us around Paris. As always, your knitting projects are so inspiring. I think that the misurina is the perfect pattern choice to show off your friends handspun gift. Take good care.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Paris, wow! I hope you get to go back. Can’t wait to see what other destinations you get to see.
I look forward to going again!
What a neat memory.. surviving on baguette and fruit yes!!

Happy Sobriety Anniversary Leanne! What better place to celebrate loving yourself than in the city of love, Paris! Thank you for all the beautiful footage. It was wonderful!❤🧶🧶❤️
I love that !! Thank you!
Paris is amazing. I loved each time I visited. I hope you get to visit often, so that you can explore Paris bit by bit.
I hope so too!
Thank you for sharing about your sobriety. Congratulations on this very significant achievement. It’s apparent in your podcast that you are a person who is clear-headed (other than the appropriate fatigue) and you bring so much of your true self to every episode that you record. I’m just so happy for you! ❤
Thank you so much! 🤗
I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts. It was great to see your beautiful knitting and beautiful footage of Paris. It makes me want to visit Europe.

Oh my gosh I would loooove to visit Quebec City!! We used to layover there but I haven’t seen those flights out of Calgary.
Another lovely episode! Brought back memories of my trip to Paris and love all your knits, travel talk and life talk. Happy you are in such a beautiful place - geographically and in life.
Thank you Jan!!

Thank you so much!!
Eleven years!! Congratulations, and what a special way to celebrate!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Corinne 💖!!
Thanks Marg!!
Thank you so much Alison! This is such a boost to read. Much appreciated 🤗
