Am in Kenya. We know luos for execessive vanity over here. It's not enough for them to drive-my-car. They have to to drive my-marsedes spoken in Luo accent. Even their grandmothers speak perfect English with pride. Mostly they are a daring lot especially their women. Lupita nyongo being a good example.

For context, when grieving in Luo culture, it is common to call to the deceased, because the bereaved are often in shock or disbelief especially if it was a sudden death. Also, when an elder dies, it is respectful to mourn them this way.
The plus side is we Luos don’t bottle up our grief, we express it openly.
