Micheal - would you say the Ashton method is a good guide for an Ativan taper. I never hit 3mg a day but I have cut back somewhat slowly over the last few weeks and I’m thinking it might be too little .5 to maybe 1 mg a day. I have only used Ativan for three months if that helps .

Such a calming aurora comes from your videos, Mike. Thank you for doing what you do. Some days, your videos are what carry me through the day. Call it one of my “anchors”.

I'm so glad the videos continue to be helpful, Jay. Keep up the good work, and continue to rely on those anchors!

Thank you for the Wisdom instead of surfeit of Information which is so confusing and counterproductive.

Thank you for the encouraging message. It comforts me as I continue my slow taper from 30 years of 10 mg Valium. I have seen too many vids of horror stories. These have scared me. Your vid has given me the courage to continue. Also, I had never thought of the spiritual element in this process. Perhaps I may heal faster by considering the power of prayer. I may not necessarily be condemned to a lifetime of protracted withdrawal symptoms, after all.
    Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya.

I'm so glad to hear that you found the video helpful. No, there is no reason to believe that the future will be doomed, quite the opposite. It can be beautiful. Invite God into the process, keep a balanced and hopeful mindset, and continue to care for yourself as you move forward. You will have a good future! Keep watching and God bless!

About 33 years ago, when I was a university student, and due to some depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, the doctor prescribed me antidepressants and benzodiazepine medications. I went from one doctor to another and tried several medications. For the past fifteen years, I was taking Zoloft 50 mg, bromazepam (lixotanil) 6 mg. Regularly, half a pill in the morning and half a pill in the evening. I am now 55 years old and a teacher. Doctors still consider that there is no danger in continuing to take the medication, and there is no danger in stopping it, even for a few weeks I recently started tapering off my benzo medication, gradually. Question: Should I get off the benzo medication then Zoloft or gradually now?

I would do one at a time, taper each somewhat gradually. Best to have a plan and then attack it one step at a time.

I’m 3 months off Ct 1 mg Ativan everyday for 10 months. First month was hell!! Pure hell! I didn’t know anything before all this. I had two ok months but this month has been rough hard to control emotions….. how long can this last? Just so upset I didn’t know about tapering. Immense fear worse around cycle can’t control it. Please tell me there is hope.
