I've been looking to buy the Secret Labs Magnus Pro desk for some time now. I finally bought the desk myself and I have to say I have had zero issue with the desk at all. I have bought arm mounts from in-store and amazon and they work on this desk. The desk is very solid and heavy so it will not move or wobble at all, the desk surface will get dirty but that is normal for anything that has a surface, just keep cleaning wipes nearby and you are perfectly fine. At least it makes you want to keep your area clean. The adjustable desk is so very nice, I can stand and do art, or stream and or record. I don't have to adjust my gaming chair at all when I can just adjust my desk. It's very smooth, has amazing cable management, you can buy attachments on it and it's all very easy to install by using magnets. It's a super sleek, very good-looking desk. Ok. 1) Get the Secret Lab monitor mounts like everyone else did, they fit perfectly, problem solved. 2) Dust collects on any colour, not just black, so if you are too lazy to regularly clean your desk, that is your own problem. 3) Get the XL version, which is 800mm deep, so it will be larger than your "average" wooden desk.
Also, the Secret Lab monitor mounts are not for everyone... My monitor is MSI 43" and weighs around 11kg... The Secret Lab mounts have a maximum of 8kg load... So... I cannot use them...
@@Allison63590 it was never mentioned in the review that you are using that huge screen. This desk definetly not for you. Meanwhile, my 3 x 28" 4K 144Hz screens are awesome on it :)
Thanks for your personal opinions. But, honestly, this has nothing to do with SecretLab, this review is not particularly constructive, but rather a personal expectation not met. SecretLab is in my opinion synonymous with quality. Take care, I'm also glad you solves the situation just nicely.
I feel like the mounting issue is something you should've researched before you purchased, but there are solutions people have found if you do a bit of research into it now, specifically on the subreddit. As for the dust problem; get yourself an air purifier, it'll cut out a lot of the dust from the air, which is the main cause of the build-up. it was there before, but lighter colours don't show it as much or as quickly, it's an issue with the colour black, but an air purifier can really help (make sure you take the plastic off the internal filter before using it).
I get that you feel like this. I did make that research. I really went through reddit to find montior arms - but none - no provider is showing the meassurements of the mount "underneath" the table. Half, if not most of the monitor arms in the reddit is not available to order in EU. Luckily i am working in a tech-retailer, but i went through 3 monitor arms to get it mounted. I still have the monitor arm mounted, but i cant use my Elgato L-arm for overhead shots. I cant mount my elgato lights. I cant mount anything on the back, its 15 centimenters into the table (making the table smaller) I cant mount my speakers I cant have the table away from the wall. I cant use the Logitech G502 mouse, because it is magnetic. No matter how you turn this, and what you say up or down. The table is wobbly, dusty, the feel of "total black" is a taste-thing, i miss my wooden table. The price tag on this desk - does not compare to the quality.. objectively - the desk is less versatile and target gamers, but is not for streamers.. so If you LOVE black and LOVE metal - this is the desk for you.. I regret buying it.. - it is a completely natural feeling.. regret
@@DanglishReviews I get all of that, I just personally cannot understand why you even swapped to begin with. Hey Thx, love to see someone not hating on sharing my experience :D But consider the IKEA UTESPELARE.. its larger, and i talked to one who has 3, not wobbly at all.. where as the Magnus HAVE to stand against a wall because of its straight legs.. but angled legs is mor sturdy.. and it looks like it has lots more room for mounting options. one thing is mounting monitors, but not being able to mount microphone arms and keylights is really sad, because its a GAMING desk......... gamers uses that stuff :D
I get what this guy is saying but come on if you are spending up to 1000 euros/pounds/dollars on a gaming desk, for heavens sake do your research first.
That is if you want to pay super-duper-overprice for their own mount, and are not using elgato or any other keylights for streaming, or any other microphone mount. - so yea no, the mount weren't available when i purchased, but i love my new ikea desks instead - much better quality at a fraction of the price.

You bought black steel desk and you are missing wooden look and feel? well....
I am so Happy for you, that you never made any mistakes 😍
Wobbly when not put against a wall?
Ugh.... instant dismissal, since I cannot put it against a wall.
Thanks!
You are welcome :)
This sounds like alot of personal issues with it🤔
Just being honest. They are both sold off now, and i am so happy with the way the new setup is going to be. Its not 100% done yet.
All these issues seem really legit. Mounting mics and massive monitors can be problematic with this desk.
I hear the XL is alot better, do you disagree?
I Think its better yes- but overpriced. And you still cant clamp on third party stuff Like mic arms or Elgato key lights
They sell single/dual monitor arms.
The dust is because of the black.
I wish they made it in white.
They did not when i had it, and they charge over Price and they dont fit Elgato arms
Im buying the Assassin Creed mat for that reason. Its a grey, rather than black.
I cant mount anything on the back, its 15 centimenters into the table (making the table smaller)
I cant mount my speakers
I cant have the table away from the wall.
I cant use the Logitech G502 mouse, because it is magnetic.
No matter how you turn this, and what you say up or down.
The table is wobbly, dusty, the feel of "total black" is a taste-thing, i miss my wooden table.
The price tag on this desk - does not compare to the quality.. objectively
- the desk is less versatile and target gamers, but is not for streamers.. so
If you LOVE black and LOVE metal - this is the desk for you..
I regret buying it..
- it is a completely natural feeling.. regret
@@DanglishReviews I get all of that, I just personally cannot understand why you even swapped to begin with. Your old desk didn't look like it needed replacing, it's not like the material and colour of the Magnus desk was a surprise when it arrived. This to me just says you purchased it on a whim cause it was there to buy, without considering all the downsides it might have for you.
@@Freakymonify i really appreciate that you took out the time to comment. But i fail to understand the lack of understanding for regret.
Have you never regretted a purchase? if so, i envy you. - i have a severe case of buyers remorse unless something is really great - i often end up selling it.
Thanks for the video mate. I've done more research after watching your video and im reconsidering options now.
I want to mount my monitors on arms and i want a more sturdy desk, both or these issues i think would stop me from buying this desk.
I understand they provide monitor arms now but the lack of ability to mount your own arms and being locked into their eco system is another minus for me too. I think im definitely not getting these desks. Thanks.
Hey Thx, love to see someone not hating on sharing my experience :D
But consider the IKEA UTESPELARE.. its larger, and i talked to one who has 3, not wobbly at all.. where as the Magnus HAVE to stand against a wall because of its straight legs.. but angled legs is mor sturdy..
and it looks like it has lots more room for mounting options.
one thing is mounting monitors, but not being able to mount microphone arms and keylights is really sad, because its a GAMING desk......... gamers uses that stuff :D
Lol TH-cam is a tool, should of looked at some reviews before you bought it.... carpenter your old one back!
I get what this guy is saying but come on if you are spending up to 1000 euros/pounds/dollars on a gaming desk, for heavens sake do your research first.
I watched 100s of videos. You cant go se the table IRL.
i really like this desk ! but 60cm usable is so bad for gaming desk ! it should at least be 70cm usable !
Way too small and wobbly
thanks! I was close to buying it!
Nice review 👌👌
Thx for the support 🤩
this is a gaming desk... many people just over view that
A gaming Desk you cant Mount Elgato equipment and gaming Mount arms on, - that is
Too lazy to dust? What kind of expert are you? 🤦♂
Who told you i was an expert ? 🙈
@@DanglishReviews Oh no, I forgot the quotation marks around the word expert.
you complain too much... make your own customize desk ...
This seems outdated, considering there is an official monitor mount
That is if you want to pay super-duper-overprice for their own mount, and are not using elgato or any other keylights for streaming, or any other microphone mount. - so yea no, the mount weren't available when i purchased, but i love my new ikea desks instead - much better quality at a fraction of the price.
You know that you are the creator of dust, not a desk :D
You shall henceforth be known as “The Creator of Dust”
I'll buy your desk off you
They are sold and funded my entire new Office setup
You could have made this video 30 seconds long by saying you chose to buy a desk you did not research and built from a material 😂😂 wtf
I hope it made Your day better, with this contribution
