Apple’s new Pencil Pro can perform a neat trick.
While previous iPad models offered a “Hover” function - reflecting the Pencil tip before it made contact with the screen - Apple’s latest iPad Air and Pro models take this to the next level, casting full virtual shadows.

This virtual shadow even changes shape as you switch between different writing tools - the eraser, the highlighter and the standard pen all have different shadows that follow the Pencil around as you move it.
The ability to visualise pen placement beforehand is intended to improve accuracy and control while writing, sketching or shading.
While we don’t think it’s a game-changer, it is a wonderfully clever feature and we think it’s rather delightful.
