      Yeah the tint is cheap enough £4 a meter for decent enough no name carbon film or £7 for Suntek Carbon. I just ordered 6m from China for £4 to see how it goes 😂 worth a try to see if it is any good.

      @@orficaldari3524 The China stuff was OK, obviously not as good a quality as the proper brand names but perfectly fine to practise and learn with. My first couple of attempts ended up in tbe bin but got my car done pretty well in the end.

    Question. Will the inside of my windows never again fog up now that the tinted foil has been installed?

  • @JamieNotLamie
    @JamieNotLamie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Omg you have been hitting all the little things I needed to know! I cleaned my windows with Windex, which damn sure has ammonia! I knew I didn't know enough to do it myself yet so I'm saving it for a nice day and after a few more of these type videos, so thanks!
    Question, I've heard you don't want to do it in direct sunlight, which is all my driveway is, so I'm thinking of doing it at the carwash so I can be under the car port, but will it be okay if I drive home after and it sits in the sun? Should I try to keep it under the shade or what? Thanks in advance.

    • @gtrscort1
      @gtrscort1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never heard of sunlight causing a problem. In fact, there are mobile tinters that will do it right in your driveway. The only thing I can think of is the sunlight would cause your solution to dry a lot faster. But if you apply a lot of solution then this shouldn’t be an issue.

    I have tried this in the past and 99.9% these kits are awful, they usually are short on the edge or the bottom.
    I would not advise getting these kits
    (No disrespect to the guy who’s making this video)
    Its something I would get done professionally and I can assure you there is dust due to it resting on the door panel.

    • @NGGPeter
      @NGGPeter 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      So if you do professional window tint and this guy did everything wrong, what could he have done to do it better? It looks fine on video. Is it because he didn't use a razor blade to clean the inside of the window? And it looked like he didn't clean the door panel while the tint rested on it. Is it cause he didn't use a heat gun on the inside to form it to the curvature?

    • @cold-frontin_penguin7902
      @cold-frontin_penguin7902 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NGGPeter what did he do wrong? Removed the entire liner and placed onto glass leaving the bottom exposed to the dirty door panel. He exposed the film to many contaminates with his transfer technique of film to glass. Finished product looks like shit. Touched the film with dry fingers leaving smudge that delaminates the adhesive reducing the longevity of the film backing. Also, he paid 25 dollars PER side. Thats 50+ bucks IF he got it right the first time around. Professionally done, a two window vehicle runs $70 and the film is ceramic and not dyed film like the film he used which will last 2 years. Carbon ceramic you're looking at 5-7 years. He didn't squeegee correctly or shrink so the film WILL develop fingers and eventually peel at the edges after continuous up and down movement of glass through use. And last but certainly not least he bought EBAY tint.
