@@joestrummer4106it happened over here in cali a few weeks ago, an article came out showing the actual test results from some of the products in legal dispensaries, i can't really oversimplify what the results were, but about like HALF of the entire selection of brands were putting pesticides and other dangerous things to inhale in their products. its kinda disingenuous to blame it all on the legality of it, cause it really was caused by a ton of other factors: the testing labs having a financial incentive to pass all these products rather than report all the pesticides in it, the competition being so massive in cali that brands have to cut corners, the laws on pesticides in thc being VERY outdated, etc
Companies and testing facilities got caught colluding to cover up dirty test results. They then took the fake test results and sold contaminated products in stores. A lot of popular vape carts brands had dangerous levels of pesticides. If you bought anything from a legal dispensary in CA there is a good chance you were consuming tainted or contaminated products.
@joestrummer4106 one of the biggest brands of vape pods(stizzy) recently had a ton of backlash and products pulled because they contained high levels of chemicals that should not be in anything your smoking
I had some dude smoke me out from one of the shops in Harajuku just behind Takeshita. I got so paranoid walking through Shibuya crossing on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. There were so many people I was getting claustrophobic. I had just talked to some Japanese people and then my nervousness from not being able to speak Japanese fluently hit me so hard I had to run outta there, to check into a capsule hotel in Shinjuku that then felt like a prison. My brother is a doctor but I knew better than to follow his recommendation of not booking all my hotels and having a more spontaneous style of travel. Caused me to get stuck at the worse places to avoid spending hundreds of dollars a night on hotels, all the hostels were booked too. I am a daily smoker back in my country, so why I got so paranoid is beyond me but boy was I trippin.
Some thc derivatives hit harder. Overall with my personal experience, they're fine, but they're not to be treated lightly just because they naturally occur. People get very similar responses smoking pure thc-a crystals/THC-P/HHC in my country. Its best to treat them like thc vape carts, ideally, you'd have one with some cbd in it to lower the potential side effects.
@@SkrataYeah what they usually mean is that it binds to receptors 20 or 30x easier but it's not 30x stronger by any means. I have a vape of HHCP and it's pretty dam strong, a single puff or two will have you high for a good few hours and a couple more you'll feel it the next day for sure. If you go hard on it you'll still be feeling it 2/3 days later although that's not very enjoyable it's more like being on a benzo than stoned and you can't really do all that much expect lounge around. It's extremely similar to THC and legal in my country everybody is smoking this or similar noids.
HHC is completely different than synthetic cannibanoids. Many of these noids like D8 and THCP are naturally occurring and are simply synthesized by using CBD so they're semi natural. Their pharmalogical action is extremely similar to regular THC and they haven't shown any extra dangers compared to regular THC. A lot of this stuff is literally just weed too like THCa is just normal weed lol. Synthetic cannibanoids are super dangerous and incredibly potent, especially the indazole carboxamide noids like ADB-PINACA
Basically., accept thca is all natural and is the precursor to regular weed. Thca is produced in natural high amounts. Unlike thch/thcb where only trace amounts are found in the plant. Because of this they got to make it in a lab.
"Ruining someones life to prevent them from ruining their life with drugs is like burning down a house to prevent a fire hazard" yup that sums it up quite well.
It's always amazing to me how it affects non-medical users. I have better cognition, less brain fog, MORE motivation to work, more physical ability to do things because of the lack of pain, etc on it. It even helps me physically because the smoke has a bronchodilator effect on the lungs.
Thank you thank you for covering this!! As someone who’s in the altcannabinoid space out of necessity due to state laws, I have encountered a surprising amount of Japanese people in various altnoid discussions online so I’ve always been very curious about it considering Japan’s harsh drug laws
Glad you started the video off how you did. No point in watching this any further if they’ve made it illegal now because it’s no longer a loophole, it’s illegal and loses all of its “wow” factor. Still gonna leave a like though for the transparency that every other TH-camr seems to lack.
Hey! I can offer some information on altanoids! Some like thcv, cbdv, and cbg are actually natural and in small percentages in the plant. Those ones are fine, but the problem comes when deriving them. Some places do it correct and breed a bud that has the correct percentages. But most of the time they don’t, and they either strip the bud of the parts they need or combine chemicals. The only altanoid that I’ve had that worked was HHC. No side affects, zero paranoia, drug test comes back negative. But most aren’t that. Got my medical license and definitely appreciate my buddy THC now.
It was probably HHC-P if it messed up your tolerance that badly. Potency wise, hhc is only about 75-80% as potent as regular thc. However, HHC-P, HHC-O are both stronger and could've easily created a massive tolerance.
It make sense for japan like for other countrys to legalize cannabis and sell it in special drugstores, it is an much better concept than synthetic cannbis
Damn Tom! You beat me to Japan! I'm a kendoka and iaidoka and plan to move to Japan within the next five years! I plan on contacting immigration soon and seeing all that it entails. Much love from America!
i'm big on altnoids. I've seen twitter posts in japanese from vendors selling products in Japan about a year ago, but stopped caring because im not in japan nor am i Japanese. Technically because its synthetic, japan doesn't bother with it. Thc-H and Thc-B can be purchased here in the US, however when used, its used mostly for blends in small amounts, as they're pretty potent, even 20-25 mg eaten or vaped is considered a relatively strong dose. The ones you listed @3:02 are cannabinoids used for base blends, and typically aren't as strong as standard delta 9 thc. BRO 35mg thch and 10mg thcb is a lot, especially for a newbie. Thc b is fast onset and thc-h provides an all over the place feel. they hit a bit different from regular thc as analogues....
Yes but very stimulating and intense, just based off of the dosages. In smaller doses with a base cannabinoid, it's much more pleasant and tolerable.@@tazallordofpog5559
😮Oh Goodness! You're doing an amazing production here, and it makes me so happy! You are a top notch TH-camr! I like that you are educational, informative, simple, humble and sensory cautious and nurturing. I just rolled one watching this video, and I tripped really nice. Thanks!
Why was it called psychedelic trip? thc-h and thc-b is just a cannabinoid that was extracted from the thc molecule. If anything the best way to explain it would be like drinking a flat soda or diet weed. Another question would be have you even smoked regular bud before?
Cannabis can be very very hallucinogenic. Have definitely tripped from THC way too many times, OEVs and everything. Although the experience is nothing like a psychedelic and is honestly fucking horrible and panic inducing.
Isn't this the same loophole from certain states? Where they call it THC "X" and it's just weed but since there's no combustion yet technically it can't get you high, it becomes illegal once you light it/burn it cause thats when the THC actually occurs.
It’s called THCA, as THCA is the “true” form of THC contained within the cannabis plant before it’s ignited and decarboxylated. The reason why it’s being considered legal is that our lawmakers are so stupid that they didn’t think to specify THCA as illegal, only delta 9 THC. So if you gave cannabis that has close to no delta 9 THC and only THCA, it’s *technically* legal based on the law books. I have no idea if it’s ever held up in court
Yo. Watch out for SSBRON it's a legal cough medicine in Japan that has dihydrocodiene. I lost my okinawan wife and my navy career because of it. I actually went to prison in Japan. Not for codeine but for weed. Spent 2 years in Yokosuka branch prison for a measly 10 grams of weed. Be careful over there....
Im all for the analogs but ill be honest from my experiences from making blends and prior chronic user i found the strong analogs dug my tolerance in the ground big time
Japan has a lot of stress and needs an economic boost. Maybe growing cannibas and other substances should be considered. I live near Atlanta and it is debated here because of the farmers who need change to survive.
That's fine. Hope it remains legal so it won't become a black market thing and get people in trouble with the law. It's better to just encourage responsible use.
@@iGame3D In TCM and Korean / Japanese traditional medicine it's just seen as useless and always has been. It's about life force and balancing out hot/cold and dry/damp, in Korean traditional medicine it's used and ironically weed and opium is completely legal in North Korea lol. During COVID if you had money that's what people would get and they use the whole plant so bubble hash or whatever, and whatever can't be used to make rope would be eaten. With opium the dried pods has seeds that taste good and be used in cooking. But the dried pods even if scored you can make opium tea or pod puddy. Also the stalk but the roots are poisonous. But never try "betal nut " it's god awfull.
I can’t lie man you’re off on the use of it in their culture. It was clearly used medically just not smoked in conjunction with treatment. They had had smokeless medicines of various natures.
What are you talking about dude. As far as I know they are not synthetic, they are found in some rare strains in tiny amounts. Yes, it is mass produced by synthesis from for example CBD . But this is not spice like the old synthetic noids. This is real natural occurring substances.
I know there used to be a lot of shops in Japan selling synthetic cannabinoids (and other stuff) as incence, and when an active substance was banned, it was just replaced in the product with a new still legal one, which could be seen on the product label as the thing being for example "3rd generation". But there was a law change and a crackdown around 2015, after which the shops shut down in masses, so I was in the belief that the loop holes had already been closed shut and the whole phenomenon had disappeared. Interesting to hear that my belief has been false, new holes have been found, and this whole thing hasn't disapeared after all.
I took some sort of weed gummy substitute in Japan around 10 months ago and it put me in a coma in my dorm room for over two days. Thank god, I took it right before the weekend and didn't miss school. Apparently, some other people I knew had taken the same thing and it did way worse to them in terms of side effects. What I took was legal at the time btw; I think it was one of the substitutes mentioned in this video because I remember my friend telling me a couple weeks or month later, "Oh yeah, by the way, what you took is now illegal."
22:49 This image scares me. It's obviously AI, and personally I don't care that it is, but are AI images really getting this good? There are obvious giveaways for sure, but what impresses me is the Kanji lettering on the billboards. They're not all correct, sure, but only a year ago most AI image software couldn't do text at all. And now it can do an impressive rendition of Kanji? Holy shit, we're like 1-2 years away from it being completely accurate.
Yes, you are WAY behind the curve on this. Over 170 millions songs have been produced with AI and AI video puts that little ink doodle you are so scared of to shame.
@@iGame3D Yes but most of those AI songs are completely shit and can be easily told apart from human made songs. Music isn't so complicated that rhythm and beats can't be generated by code. What's far more impressive is being able to draw text in different languages that actually make sense, especially without being prompted for that specific text.
As someone who works in the industry, that’s a baby step they are taking, if people were to fight for it (laws wise) It would be come legal to have, hope it happens one day, and awesome video learn something new.
I have always wanted to visit Japan but I just hate going places without weed, and trying to bring it internationally is not something I would try. After becoming aware of loopholes in the US I always found it interesting hearing about what they have in other countries. Where I am you can get actual weed along with all of the thc analogs thru the mail, I can just get the regular THC so I don't use the other versions aside from trying the new variants once. I am willing to try a lot of things.
They have thc-h in the U.S. as well. Although it's not very popular, it's still sold at alot of smoke shops here. From personal experience it's not very good. Most of the time it's very dry, and the high just makes you tired mostly. You can smoke alot of thc-h though and never green out, I notice smoking it once you hit your peak that's it. You don't get any higher really instead you just start to feel very tired. I hated it personally bc I could never get high from it. But I know for ppl with no built up tolerance for thc, thc-h might be more enjoyable.
Great video! Tokyo looks really interesting, its funny how psychedelic they seem to get without actually allowing that. I remember hearing mushrooms were legal up until the 2000s because of another loophole. Also I heard the DBZ song you threw in there!
I remember learning about all this stuff and the general extreme tightness of Japanese regulations and I had to make a choice between my love of Japan and my love of cannabis and freedom more broadly, I chose cannabis.
You are definitely smoking some boof products. Pure thch is really expensive and it's rare to find a company that is honest about their doses. I stg people are so stupid when it comes to any cannabinoid other than traditional THC @@NarlyLyfe
Japan is the friendliest most amazing paradise vacation land. I met someone when I was young from there through sn exchange snd got to see him there when I was 14. If you have some money. Pick.a place and go there.
I remember when here in America there was a “legal weed” called K-2 going around that was SO MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than weed. I can’t imagine this “legal weed” in Japan is safer than REAL weed!!!
The alt-noids are very low risk. Their pharmalogical action and chemical structure are super similar to regular THC if not sometimes just identical and lots of these already exist in the cannabis plant. Alt-noids are not comparable to synthetic cannibanoids whatsoever.
I tried legal edibles in Japan, and they also were very strong. I could feel its not natural tho. I prefer normal ones with only natural cannabinoids. When I come back after study to germany, I can enjoy the half legalization/ half decriminalization of cannabis. Thanks a lot for this Video! Not many people are as brave to make a video about it!

@@flightlesschicken7769Sure, but the new legalization law is a mess. some of those cannabinoids can be super good for certain cancers. thca can attack very aggressive pancreatic cancer cells.
There is literally no reliable source that supports what you say. THCA is also the same thing as THC/D9.
So I looked into this a little bit and THC doesn't attack cancer cells however there are studies showing it inhibiting cancer cell growth so it can slow down the cancer and its spread
thcA is just normal cannabis before the decarboxylation process which turns it into delta 9thc...

@@joestrummer4106it happened over here in cali a few weeks ago, an article came out showing the actual test results from some of the products in legal dispensaries, i can't really oversimplify what the results were, but about like HALF of the entire selection of brands were putting pesticides and other dangerous things to inhale in their products.
its kinda disingenuous to blame it all on the legality of it, cause it really was caused by a ton of other factors:
the testing labs having a financial incentive to pass all these products rather than report all the pesticides in it, the competition being so massive in cali that brands have to cut corners, the laws on pesticides in thc being VERY outdated, etc

I am a daily smoker back in my country, so why I got so paranoid is beyond me but boy was I trippin.
sure it wasnt synthetic?
the different Thc derivatives can hit different some claim 10x 20x but i think its a bunch yapping

Synthetic weed is a huge problem in American jails but it’s used recreationally in Japan we live in a society
Crazy to still see people put cocaine put in the same category as weed
Oh man HHC has an absolute nightmare of a dosage curve.
So basically thca/regular ass weed? And the same loopholes us in the US go threw with derived cannabis products😭
Basically., accept thca is all natural and is the precursor to regular weed. Thca is produced in natural high amounts. Unlike thch/thcb where only trace amounts are found in the plant. Because of this they got to make it in a lab.
"THCH may cause paranoia, anxiety, and cognitive impairment."
Uh....you mean the temporary effects of being stoned just like regular THC?
uh yea? It’s a disclaimer 😂
There is no way to truly simulate a psychedelic experience. The visuals are fun most of the time, but they are truly about your headspace.
Really enjoyed this one, Tom. Thanks for the video!
Glad you started the video off how you did. No point in watching this any further if they’ve made it illegal now because it’s no longer a loophole, it’s illegal and loses all of its “wow” factor. Still gonna leave a like though for the transparency that every other TH-camr seems to lack.
it's always a relief when it's a human voice, not ai
My problem with these that they gave me insane tolerance. Normal weed did nothing for me for weeks after hhc for example.
It was probably HHC-P if it messed up your tolerance that badly. Potency wise, hhc is only about 75-80% as potent as regular thc. However, HHC-P, HHC-O are both stronger and could've easily created a massive tolerance.
Youll never catch me smoking a synthetics or spice period
That’s not what’s the video about

Thc b is fast onset and thc-h provides an all over the place feel. they hit a bit different from regular thc as analogues....
i've made blends and its supposed to be a small additive to distillate blends. never vaped it pure.

Why was it called psychedelic trip? thc-h and thc-b is just a cannabinoid that was extracted from the thc molecule. If anything the best way to explain it would be like drinking a flat soda or diet weed. Another question would be have you even smoked regular bud before?
Correct
Cannabis can be very very hallucinogenic. Have definitely tripped from THC way too many times, OEVs and everything. Although the experience is nothing like a psychedelic and is honestly fucking horrible and panic inducing.
0:18 That music puts me back to 2009 when i first played Resident Evil 4 😪

That's fine. Hope it remains legal so it won't become a black market thing and get people in trouble with the law. It's better to just encourage responsible use.
In East Asian traditional medicine hemp is considered to pungent for use.
It's use is mostly as rope and oils
What the hell does 'too pungent for use' even mean? "Oh it eases paint, but it stank, so just suffer"
This is real natural occurring substances.
hey man great video but you should put a photosensitivity warning at the end
Very informative. haven't checked your channel in years and loving these documentary videos

I actually loved the use of AI images in this video and no… I’m not a bot 😂
