I've got Road 5's on my ZZR1400. They're the best tyres I've ever fitted to my bike. And they scrubbed in much quicker than anything else I've ever had.
I know this is a bit late but I've just found it and have just got the Mitchlin road 5's. My old tyres were Mitchlin pilot 2ct and though they lasted I hated em in all conditions, they were just cold and hard and may as well of been made of wood in winter. After hearing so many good things about the 5:s I ordered them at MOT time, I have to say I am really really impressed so far, I had lost all confidence cornering and on most surface conditions and wow I immediately had more grip and confidence right from the moment I rode home, I've been out in the cold, heavy rain, wind, with and without a pillion passenger, and still they've been brilliant. just installed my new set of road 5`s. coming from road 4`s. instantly I noticed how much stickier they are. feels more confident in high speed turns. also feels like they have changed the shape of the contact patch, not so pointed. that is an improvement as well, doesn't feel like im falling into turns. Makes my Concours 14 feel more sportier than ever. tires shop owner says several of his customers have reported back saying that they are getting a little more life out of them compared to the 4`s. I didn't think anyone could improve over the 4`s but, so for I am a believer.....
Glad to hear you’re liking them Scott. I never tried the PR4‘s but i definitely felt all the things you have over the PR3‘s. That and with all the stickiness of the Metzeler M7RR‘s that I had on before. I’m impressed with the mileage too. Getting way more out of them than I expected!
I am running the Dunlop Roadsmart 3 which are very nice. However the Pilot 5's look very good as well. I do also love the feel of a new tyre. Thank you for sharing.
I was considering Roadsmart 3's after a recommendation from Teapotone. But then Michelin gave me this opportunity to try theirs and so far I think they're fantastic. Expensive, but you do seem to get what you pay for.
I had a rear tyre puncture, not so long ago and the PR4 trials are no longer available for my Tiger 800. So now I have a PR5 on the back and the bike is now smoother to ride than before. Once the front is done, I have no hesitation in replacing that with the PR5.
Hi Andy have done a novice track day on the road 5's on the Tuono at Oulton Park uk 167 miles on track with no problems ran them at Aprilia pressure for the bike 36 rear 33 front when they were hot when cold that was 5 psi less so had to pump them back up to ride home, did 3 laps each session to get the tyres and me upto working temp think i need it more than the tyres so i guess thats enough tyre for most road riders . very happy with them as a great alround tyre
Cheers mate, that’s really good to know! I wanted to talk about track performance in my 5000km video, but decided that asI haven’t done it first hand, I’d keep things to my own experience. Glad to hear that if i should get the chance, the tyres can handle the increased stress of the track. Thanks mate.
@@AndyManCam Hi Andy Michelin dont recommend the road 5's for trackday use they say to use Power RS but Ron Haslam race school have run sports touring tyres for years Bridgestone and now Dunlop because they work in all conditions so didn't worry the Road 5's wouldn't handle the odd trackday, i only booked the day before so didn't have time or money to swop to trackday rubber and with winter coming want the wet weather performance of the Road 5's on the bike. Your 5000 km review was very good and spot on .Cheers mate
I have Road 5s on my Versys, love em. The tip in so much better than the PR4 was and I didn't even change the size (standard Versys sizes). Also the stability while leaned over is much better than the PR4.
Hi Andy just scrubbed in my 2nd pair of 5's , UK rider my17 Aprilia Tuono v4 1100 have been very pleased with the 5's have run them at 3 c in rain in wales and 2000 miles in italy-switzerland at 34 c so they work well all round. Took them off down to the wear bar in centre on rear and shoulder on front but still a good profile at 6100 miles still legal in uk but new ones are so much nicer
Very good to hear Paul, and to be honest, from what I've seen so far, I'm not surprised you went back for seconds! They impressed me no end in the Alps.
Hey Paul what rear size did you fit? As the Tuono is 200 rear did you fit a 190? Was told they don't do a 200 in the Road5 How did this affect the handling? I ended up getting the Bridgestone S21s
@@bobpowar7857 Hi Bob my tuono factory came with super corsa 200 rear but the RR has a 190 Aprilia say 190 is ok have been told by some german guys the super corsa is really 193. Thx Andy for informative video glad you like the PR5s for what it's worth I got under 3k miles on my 1200PP Mutley, this was same as earlier set. My riding is mostly canyons and enjoy the low end torq of V2 on turn exit which wears outside edges of tire while still having center hardly worn. Going back to PR2s that I can buy for half the price of PR5 while their still available. I live in SoCal so rain use is not an issue. Have used PR2,3,4 +5s,Q3s, Scorpions,Angels,Pilot Power. All gone by 2500m. YMMV
Thanks Bill. Yeah definitely sounds like they’re not quite the best fit for you! I reckon that if i never had to ride in the rain, it would certainly change the list of tyres I’d be looking at. Great that you can still get the PR2‘s. If it ain’t broke… 👍🏻
They do look good don't they. Far more aggressive than any of the weirdly friendly looking treads of all the predecessors! They're doing very well so far. Already 4000km and not even halfway worn.
Well let me give you the first spoiler alert, so far i think they’re incredible. In the wet, in the mountains, they felt more stable than some tyres I’ve ridden in the dry!!
Yep, sound about right, PR 4s in the rain are unbelievable, no reason these ones should be any different if not much better. Thanks for the spoiler mate, the only good spoiler that can be had!
Smokeybarr said to me, as we were riding across a frshly wetted Klausen Pass, that the tyres were clearing such a swathe through the water, that it was almost like he could follow the dry line that I'd just created!!
@@AndyManCam Hahaha, now THAT's a good rubber!! The Versys will be sooo happy when I slap them on, I can almost hear him begging me to do it tomorrow! :))
It'll thank you, I promise! And if you're into fast turn in, I'd recommend having a look at the taller version. My FZ1 flicks about like a rodeo girls pony tail!
I chuck the FZ1 pretty hard into the bends and at 15st I’m not the lightest plus with140 ish BHP at the rear wheel, it’s got some poke. Yet these boots have done nothing but impress. I also think they either have or will soon have the GT version available.
Got these on my MT10, done 2500 miles now after a big Euro tour. Still looking good but the shoulders have really scuffed up on the back. Prefer them to the Pilot 4s.
Scuffed up is good though! Shows you were pushing it! Mine were well scrubbed on the shoulders after switzerland too. SO far, I'm really impressed with them.
I’m either going with these or the Dunlop Q3’s on my GSX-S1000! It has Dunlop 214 and they do good they got 4k and still got a little life left if anything they need changed for time not miles they came on my bike in 2016 but have been lightly used and garage kept! Bike only had 2k on it when o got it so just broke it if that! I jumped straight on it and rode it 7 hours back to my house at 80-100mph so it’s broke in good now and I have changed the fluid took out the new Motul and put in Mobil 1 4t racing oil I like the way it makes my clutches feel over other oils! Amsoil does just as good to but Vacolinw and some of these other brands make the clutch feel weak on any Bike new or old!
Look, we can go round and round all day being smart arses, but the fact remains that I will always take it easy on new tyres to start with and also recommend others do the same. They will always be cold, shiny (from surface finish of the mould), a different profile and possibly covered in any lube/sealant used to get them on the rim. It's pretty small minded when people start trumpeting on about how tyres don't need scrubbing in as it's a complete non issue that wastes everybody's time and the trumpeters energy. It costs nothing to take it easy for 100 miles and nothing bad can happen. Sure tyres are better made and grippier than ever, but telling everybody to just charge out on new tyres and not be careful means there is a chance that something bad can happen. And for what? Just so that somebody can be a nay-sayer who knows better than everybody else. You go nuts on your new tyres if you want to and I hope no harm ever comes to you. But I'll have less chance of a mishap purely by giving me and the new rubber a short chance to get to know each other better.
It's annoying isn't it. Or like when you've got a long trip coming up and your tyres MIGHT have enough tread to last. But then they might not!! After about 5000km with these boots, they still look very curved. Which is nice!
I have probably around 5000mi on my Road 5 rear and it is only just starting to flatten out a little, not even a distinct squaring off. Still plenty of tread left.
Interesting video and timely. I am coming near replacing my tyres on the Street Triple 675, (just wondering if the current ones will hang on to my 12k service at end of month, 1,500 more miles). Back one is getting fairly squared off after 4,000 miles of A1(M) riding this past 2 months. The weather will be wetter over the coming months and it sounds like these Road 5's are the way to go.
In the wet in the Schwarzwald, they were great. Also after nearly 5000km, profile is still round and they appear to be less than half way through. Possibly the perfect all round tyre!
I would now say that i think the R5‘s are the joint best I’ve had. I’m really enjoying the Avon Spirit ST‘s on my CB1000R. Same levels of confidence. I even went out in -4°C for a few hours the other day and no surprises!
Thanks for the video and information, greatly appreciated. You mention the newly available 190/55/17 and that the stock FZ1 size is 190/50/17. Confirming if you went with the 55 or stayed with the 50 for this review? Thanks again!!
Do you wave your hands around while filming then dub over, I couldn't remember all that gruff about tyres. Or, has your tinted screen got autoque. Only jealous I forget which street I live on now ha!
I've been reading a lot of online reviews of sport touring tires, and it seems like the 2 most popular right now are Pirelli Angel GT and Michelin Road 5. One review I read even claimed one of their test riders was dragging a knee in standing water on Road 5's. Sadly, there was no video proof. Bring on the Chicken Strip Eradication!
I wouldn't say I was close to knee down (I've yet to really do that in the dry!) but I've not known wet confidence like I get with these beauties. Actually confidently driving through standing water on near hairpin bends. Amazing.
Thanx Andy for letting me know what tire pressures you use Those are the same as my factory tire pressure recommendation for my MT09SP so will stick with those I will try the road 5 when I replace the Bridgestones Cheers Baz🇦🇺
Good tyre.. but you will regret to buy it if got puntucred. Not easy to patch from inside or put emergency worm patch from outside. I just clocked 3000 km and then got punctured tried many ways to patch the hole but no luck. I ended up buy a new tyre battlax of coz
@@AndyManCam you experienced it that you will know, i rode with different tyres before. PR5 does not have steel belt inside that makes it lighter compare to other steel belted tyre. That causing worm patch a bit more difficult to install.
G'day Andy, I'm actually very interested in your mirrors. Just bought the CB1000R, and the standard mirrors have to go. I really like the ones you have fitted. Could you kindly let me know who you got them from? Great info video as usual.
Hi,is the michelin road 5 a good option for my moto cb 600f hornet mod'2004,give me your opinion if you want.I am from Athens Greece moving actually at the city and the streets are not in a good condition for a long time.Good passes and streets.
I would say yes. Probably similar size/weight/power as my bike and I find the tyres amazing. And of course with a bit less power and a bit less weight, the tyres are going to last a lot longer too. I rode some pretty awful road conditions in Germany and not real problems or surprises at all.
I actually think so. I did 3500km to the Alps and back, and they're between a quarter and a third worn. So theoretically I should get somewhere between 10 and 15 thousand km. And I wasn't hanging about in the mountains either!!
Thanks! Luckily, YES! Michelin have done all of the required testing and qualifying so that this size is 100% legal for this bike (and many others) in Germany. :D
And since this video, Germany has now changed the rules again!! If the tyres are the same size as the original spec, no problem. If they're different, they have to be checked over by the TÜV people and then written into the bikes paperwork. For approximately a 50€ entry fee. Just when it seemed everything was too simple!
I'm certain that it has. After all, the tyres are tall enough that the bike only just went on to the centrestand when they were fresh on! But I couldn'T really tell the difference between how much the speedo was out before, versus how much it is out now! :D TBH, in the Alps I mostly used the Garmin speedo anyway!
That’s fair enough, next time you’re out could you shout what difference you think it’s made? If it’s not too bad I’d be interested in putting 55’s on mine for a tour into Portugal I will be on next year on my FZ1N 😁
Will do mate. Though for the ability to change direction so much faster than this bike really ought to be able to, I’d make do with any speedo discrepancy!!
I can find it a bit lazy, when tipping into a corner then immediately into another so your review so far is peaking my interest! Can’t wait to see the next few videos! 👍🏼
DEFINITELY worth a look then! It felt amazing in the tight twisties. Smokeybarr, the chap I was there with, even mentioned that he was surprised how quickly the bike flicked from side to side, given it's age and weight.
Haha! That HAS to be it! Though the confidence in the bends on those slick edges really is something special!! If I’d still had the Metzeler M5 on the front, I’d have been struggling and failing to keep up with you from start to finish!
Nice looking tyres, may try them on the SM when it's time, depending on the long term reviewage. Was trying to be funny earlier mate, pastiche-ing (real word) the flack that seemed to be coming your way...Don't worry, I'll stick to nob jokes from now on :)Excellent work as ever, Mr Man.
Haha1 Don't worry mate. I got it! Just didn't get to replying. sorry! More mid term thoughts on these hoops coming soon. Needless to say, so far all good!
Thankfully only about twice as long as you see here! Once I chopped out the foot in mouth moments and the accidentally saying techno terms in german!! :D Yeah the helmet is good for the UK. TBH if it passes muster in Germany, it'll be good for anywhere in the world! This is the Safety State! :D
Haha! I’ve had nothing but good experience with them. Still got at least another weekend away on them, even though i put them on at the beginning of LAST season! In any case, i hope they still prove useful to you! Enjoy those bikes mate!
Just to make you laugh about the Shiny surface/Caking Agent used to prevent the tyres from sticking to the mould. Do you remember being at school when the girl of your dreams or the class BABE lent you her favourite ERASER/PENCIL RUBBER and is smudged your work!! I rest my case, Never go into Fantasyland when you rely on a Rubber Compound, I think this is a fact of life and a small piece of wisdom for life:)
Hey AMC, if you're into the geeky details of suspension function, frame and suspension geometry and the effect on the handling and traction of a bike, have a watch of these free lectures by the owner of Traxxion Dynamics. th-cam.com/users/TraxxionDynamicsIncvideos A taller tire profile essentially raises the rear axle height and makes the fork angle at the front steeper. That's where some of the steering quickness happens. Tire profiles vary a lot. Triangular shapes are more common among sport tires, rather than sport-touring tires.
I actually did a little reading a while back as I was planning to raise my rear end to combat low ground clearance. I haven't gotten to it yet but decided to hold off until I've gotten used to these tyres in this size. The combo of the both could mean incredible cornering, but very skittish straight line stability. Plus my knackers sliding into the tank lots more than usual! The Rep at Michelin did say to me that these are a more sport oriented profile for faster handling. SO far, she did not lie!
Cool. As long as you're aware of what you're buying! Changing chassis geometry is a serious consideration, in that it can become a big problem in a hurry, with a few cm here and a few cm there. Some bikes are known to be set up poorly from factory, two that come to mind are the MT-09 (prone to squat too much) and the Ninja1000 (Z1000SX; not a neutral steering). They function fine for most people, but they could be drastically improved. The rear suspension "pro-squat" or "anti-squat" properties are a function of the swingarm angle, the sprocket/chain pulling angle, and the rear suspension linkage. It's pretty interesting stuff. I watched the free lecture videos from Traxxion Dynamics. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to know how these things work. th-cam.com/users/TraxxionDynamicsIncvideos
Sooo, you missed the bit at 45 seconds where i talked about that? 🙄 I really wish folks would watch and listen before seizing an opportunity to show how clever they are.
If you mean that i couldn’t care less either way, then sure. But whatever you think about release agent, it’s smart to scrub your tyres in before you start pushing the limits of friction.
Seriously dude, you’re arguing a point that I really don’t care about. How do I keep getting cornered lately by know-it-alls who get hung up on something i the first minute of the video. Watch the whole thing and talk to me about carbon black compounds or water displacement or anything EXCEPT for the non-subject from the very beginning of this purposely information filled production.
So what’s the long term verdict??? Wear. Mileage. Grip. Would you have them again. As for the chicken strips, they look bigger than the ones you get from KFC🤐😂
Haha! I was just warming up! Plus there aren't many real bends around these parts! :D If you haven't already seen it, check out the 5000km update video: th-cam.com/video/Wle57EiF2Sk/w-d-xo.html Since then I've only managed a couple of hundred miles more. But still loving them and already they've covered more distance than the M7RR's that I had on before, for about the same money. So I'd definitely have them again!
It's a shame to see channels I enjoy infected by paid promotions. Nothing more than a 9 minute video where channel owner is afraid to point out anything negative because they're being paid. Thanks for the advert with absolutely zero integrity.
ACTUALLY it'S 9 minutes where the channel owner had nothing negative to say. How could I? You're literally seeing the first 40 minutes or so with me gingerly wearing them in from new! I also didn't really say anything positive either for the same reasons. But I can very happily tell you that after 3500km in the Swiss Alps I STILL have nothing negative to say about them and plenty of positive. They are simply amazing. Also all I got was the tyres, no bribe money to say positive things. So 'paid' is a bit of a strong term to use. Finally what I find to be a bit of a shame is when people don't accept that these videos take time, effort and money to make. Without the products that I'm very lucky to have been given for testing through this channel, I not only wouldn't have nearly as much content, I also simply wouldn'T have the money to continue making ANY content as everything I earn from my real job would be going on such vital things as Tyres. End result, no content, no channel. I for one would have expected that people interested in a motorbike based channel, would also be interested in motorbike tyres. There's no selling out here I promise you and any enthusiasm I show for products is always real. I say no to more companies than you might expect due to my preference for positive and honest videos. If I don't like stuff, I'll say so and I'll stop using it.
I agree. Before Michelin approached me, I was going to spend a little less. But to be honest I think that this is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. These tyres are flat out witchcraft.

Scuffed up is good though! Shows you were pushing it! Mine were well scrubbed on the shoulders after switzerland too. SO far, I'm really impressed with them.
Loved the PR 4. PR 5 is next on the GS.
I think you'll be impressed. These are whole worlds better than the Diablo Stradas I had on the Versys.
Awesome, I'm looking forwrd.
As long as you like how it runs, that’s the overall most important thing mate! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great info on the new tyres pal. Hope the give you good grip in the twisties.
Thanks mate! They did NOT disappoint!
Thanks for sharing mate. Those might just be the next tires on my FJ-09. Ride safe.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! They'Re impressing me no end so far.
If they needed scrubbed in, what would racers do?
Use race specific tyres and tyre warmers. 🤦🏻♂️
@@AndyManCam Sorry race tires don’t have the same Preserving chemicals as regular tires?
@@AndyManCam 10 miles tops on a sunny day. If your really worried, hit a hot car wash before you go.
No, i think I’ll stick with my way thanks.
I heard n read many good reviews on those tires, I should give them a try one day.
Cheers Sam. So far I would say that yes you should! I'm so glad I got the chance to!
This is the tyre for my bike next time. Have had some good exerience on the erlier models
I honestly think this is the best they've done. I had PR3's on my Versys 650 and these are worlds better. Far more stable and predictable.
My 765 is beginning to feel like the tyres have squared off a bit, way too much tread left on it to change it though
It's annoying isn't it. Or like when you've got a long trip coming up and your tyres MIGHT have enough tread to last. But then they might not!! After about 5000km with these boots, they still look very curved. Which is nice!
Aye, and you know if you put new rubber on for a big trip, they are going to suffer some squaring off on the ride! :-)
Will be interested to see how they go, as this are what I'm putting on mine next year 👍
So far I can only recommend them mate. Impressing me at every opportunity.
@@AndyManCam yeah not suprised had pilot 3,and they were faultless 😉
what helmet are you wearing in this video?
Its a Nishua Carbon Enduro. I got it from Louis.de
Definitely the Road5 GTs are the best I’ve had in fifty five years of riding👌
I would now say that i think the R5‘s are the joint best I’ve had. I’m really enjoying the Avon Spirit ST‘s on my CB1000R. Same levels of confidence. I even went out in -4°C for a few hours the other day and no surprises!
Great video Andy, (new subscriber)
i’m ready for a new set of rubber and this has been very helpful 👍
My pleasure mate! I'll be doing a final round up soon as they're almost done. But I'm assuming that you'll already be running a pair by then!
Thanks for the video and information, greatly appreciated. You mention the newly available 190/55/17 and that the stock FZ1 size is 190/50/17. Confirming if you went with the 55 or stayed with the 50 for this review? Thanks again!!
Hi Karl, I had the 190/55's and they definitely sharpened up the steering and caused a much 'sportier' tip in to the corners.
Do you wave your hands around while filming then dub over, I couldn't remember all that gruff about tyres. Or, has your tinted screen got autoque. Only jealous I forget which street I live on now ha!
Haha! I was pretty impressed with myself for remembering most of it! I may have had to stop mid way and check some facts though!! :D
Fjdy1jd1 angel gt are some years old now. I had them but prefer roadtec01 and PR5..more modern
I wouldn't say I was close to knee down (I've yet to really do that in the dry!) but I've not known wet confidence like I get with these beauties. Actually confidently driving through standing water on near hairpin bends. Amazing.
I'd like to try the Roadtec 01's for a bit of a comparison. They both seem to be the real forerunners right now.
Thanx Andy for letting me know what tire pressures you use
Those are the same as my factory tire pressure recommendation for my MT09SP so will stick with those
I will try the road 5 when I replace the Bridgestones
Cheers Baz🇦🇺
Good tyre.. but you will regret to buy it if got puntucred. Not easy to patch from inside or put emergency worm patch from outside. I just clocked 3000 km and then got punctured tried many ways to patch the hole but no luck. I ended up buy a new tyre battlax of coz
Yeah, but that's the same with ALL tyres that you buy!!
Hello mate! I got them from Louis, the company that invited me to the Stelvio event You can find them in here. goo.gl/hNbkCr cheers!
@@AndyManCam 👌🤗👋
Nice work Andy, trying a set of Avons and Bridgestone on my fleet. It's great news these companies are now seeing the worth of us vloggers 😎😎
Cheers mate. Yes, very much a good thing! And I honestly do think it'll be good for them too! As long as they keep making good products!
I’m away to get a set in a few weeks.....I’m hoping to get 6000 miles out of them. Is that possible? 😀
I actually think so. I did 3500km to the Alps and back, and they're between a quarter and a third worn. So theoretically I should get somewhere between 10 and 15 thousand km. And I wasn't hanging about in the mountains either!!
I tried mine on my mt-09 the original were battlax s20r didn’t liked these, im surprise how sticky they feel for now, its like be on a rail for real
Nice Video! But my question is, is it allowed to run those 55 tires on the fz1?
@@AndyManCam hm, just got a New pair last week. 😂
Its going to be a bloody long time until you change them tyres..My road 4's have done 8K and they still look like new...
I'm seeing that already! 5000km down and they still look less than a third worn!
Looking at these for my next set, got the PR4 on at moment, how many miles have you covered now?
I've not been able to ride much since this 5000km video: th-cam.com/video/Wle57EiF2Sk/w-d-xo.html so it's still pretty accurate.
Put a set on my Ducati, took them off as fast as they went on.Anything above 125 mph they started to vibrate up thru my grips,I think there junk, imo.
I think you might have to have a word with whoever balances your wheels! I’ve had no problems at that speed!
Sounds like a balance problem.
What size did you put on the rear? 190/50 or 190/55?
I put a 190/55/17 on and it feels AMAZING! Bike changes direction so much faster than before.
I'll put them next on my 9T, too. Unless your long term test won't say anything else, at least... 😁
Long term test vids yet to come, but #SpoilerAlert they've been fantastic in the first 5000km.
Hi Andy, has having the 55 rather than the 50 affected the accuracy of your speedo at all?
Is your visor black to hide the script behind? :D
Aahahahaha! Luckily no! The hair is going grey, my knees creak and I make a noise when I get up, but my memory and my eyes are still pretty sharp! 😁
You had slick edges!? So that's why you were quicker than me up the Apls! **cough! cough!!**
How long were you out to record enough footage of the technobabble?😂
And on a sidenote, is that helmet ok for the UK?
Thankfully only about twice as long as you see here! Once I chopped out the foot in mouth moments and the accidentally saying techno terms in german!! :D Yeah the helmet is good for the UK. TBH if it passes muster in Germany, it'll be good for anywhere in the world! This is the Safety State! :D
I did,he will no longer touch my bike.I kept the tires so I can put them on my 600.This whole thing got me upset, I'm sure they will be fun,,😉
Hahaha! True stories mate! 😂
Hey AMC, if you're into the geeky details of suspension function, frame and suspension geometry and the effect on the handling and traction of a bike, have a watch of these free lectures by the owner of Traxxion Dynamics. th-cam.com/users/TraxxionDynamicsIncvideos
A taller tire profile essentially raises the rear axle height and makes the fork angle at the front steeper.
I’m switching to these tiers now👍 So thanks for an informative video😀 But theres one thing; Why do you talk so much with your left hand?😂😂
Dear me......release agent is not used in this day and age.
Sooo, you missed the bit at 45 seconds where i talked about that? 🙄 I really wish folks would watch and listen before seizing an opportunity to show how clever they are.
@@AndyManCam no i didnt. Just make it clear, you are on the fence.
If you mean that i couldn’t care less either way, then sure. But whatever you think about release agent, it’s smart to scrub your tyres in before you start pushing the limits of friction.
@@AndyManCam now there we agree. Flexing the carcass and stressing the walls. Its not to remove release coat.
I can confirm that these tyres are the tits....stick like poo to a blanket👍😜
My alpine testing thoroughly concurs with your confirmation!

New tires? Find an empty parking lot and do slow speed turns in both directions.
Not a bad idea. Seems like wasted miles to me though! I'd rather get out there and ride it!!
Andy if I give you £500 will you say their crap?
Nope! Because I'm afraid it would be lies, and I can't have that on my channel!!
That's a relief! I enjoy your videos.
Ha! Cheers, very happy to hear it!
So I'd definitely have them again!
few hundred miles? lol
No m+s
Funny that. What with them being road sports touring tyres.
So I actually did pay for my Road 5s, and like Andy I have nothing bad to say about them other than they are a tad pricey.
I agree. Before Michelin approached me, I was going to spend a little less. But to be honest I think that this is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. These tyres are flat out witchcraft.
Herr Troll.
