I restarted smoking pipes a few months ago. I briefly smoked back in 2018 for a few months but didn't stick with it. I picked them up a few months ago and smoked the slightly aged tobacco I had and wow. I really enjoy it now.
I was one of the younger pipe smokers starting at 19 or so (back before the new age law). What started as a curiousity became a favorite pastime of mine to unwind and relax. Over the years my tastes in blends and pipe styles changed and I got better at detecting flavor notes and honing my palate. It’s great to hear that pipes are gaining popularity. As back when I started some old timers were worried the hobby would die out
I might add that pipe smoking is the only kind that one has to learn to do. It is not like cigarettes at all, and the Surgeon General's famous report in the 1960s, while very tough on cigarette smoking, noted that pipe smokers' life expectancy is two to three years greater than that of nonsmokers! The reason, I suppose, is that pipe smoking is soothing and reflective and not an exercise in inhaling chemical-soaked fumes directly into one's lungs. Thanks for this informative vid.
I guess he meant to say DFK, but then slipped up and said ratio because soon afterwards he talks about Ratios in blending, and in another video he talks about DFK as one of the types.

@@trento8397Nicotine is absorbed through the oral mucosa as well as the lungs. Getting smoke into your mouth still gives you a dose of nicotine, even if you don’t inhale.
Yeah I am into pipes and all but cigars have no additives lol. Pipe tobacco has much more casings and toppings going on. I like this pipe smoking hobby and getting into it but premium cigars are much purer tobacco products by a margin.

For tasting the tobacco, with cigars and pipes you're smoking it for the flavour as well as the nicotine.

I'm interested in getting into this. Is there any tobacco anyone can recommend that has as few chemicals, additives and pesticides as possible?
Another option, which will be a lot more involved, is to grow your own. Seeds cost like 3$ and it’s easy to grow.
