But also, the dude's got a big voice. He's unapologetically open about the unflattering parts of his, and makes it easy to digest with an air of humor. The butt jokes and ball-busting banter is what I love in an unsub episode, and this one had it in spades!

As a former paramedic (7 years) I truly appreciate you describing exactly how bad it can be working as a medic. I had to quit before I killed myself from all the shit I had to see & do, day in & day out while not being appreciated & being extremely underpaid while seeing people’s worst days every single day. I’m still trying to beat the alcoholism. I couldn’t cope & didn’t feel I could reach out for help cuz I didn’t want my peers to look at me in a bad way so I started self medicating. It’s extremely hard trying to kick this shit but I’m still trying & if JD can come back from where he was then so can I.

Hey guys, I'm a community paramedic and was a firefighter for a number of years until an injury made me stop riding the trucks, but before all that, I was a homeless piece of shit punk wandering the country, was a hardcore alcoholic, drugs, the works. But I pulled myself out, found a community and invested everything in building it up and bettering it. First as a Medic and Firefighter, and now as a community paramedic providing care to the homeless populations and ensuring our elderly population is well taken care of. Truly investing my life into bettering my fellow man, and its made my life significantly better. I appreciate being able to see a story that mirrors some aspects of things I've gone though. Getting through the PTSD of my shit childhood and years of fucked up shit, and then also the trauma of things I deal with, and dealt with in emergency services, and now community service, is rough, but my dog is also my rock. Keep kicking ass guys.

We all are fucked up in some way or other, but bringing that darkness into the light because that act alone reduces the power that darkness in our heads holds over us.
Im just starting to watch this one now, this is gonna be a good podcast. Im subbed to both JD and Unsub, JD seems a solid solid dude, he deserves the recognition.
Its making me laugh right now, seeing the sorta awkward straight laced-ness of the unsub bros alongside JD's "gray area" approach to building/re-building their lives.

In the state level system's if there is an issue unofficially you would go to a guy like him and say fix it, the issue woukd get fixed. Was it right, not necessarily but was it affective, yes. Not hating on JD or the guys for having him on, but once you've had your Christmas ruined, or seen your mother cry because what was taken, or how long it takes to financially recover, it just hurts. I just have a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to reformed criminals when other people end up getting hurt. It just makes you want to cry because of how unfair the justice system is, and how unfair life can be. Much love and support to anyone who has turned their life around however. I understand how you feel man. It's hard to forgive and forget when your life gets turned upside down like that. Aside from having your things taken from you, and the financial hit, it also hits your peace of mind. You lose trust in people, you panic when you hear a sound you don't recognize. You don't feel safe in your own home anymore. And nothing gives that back. And it's hard to see someone that did those things be seemingly given the world when nobody was rushing to help you.

It genuinely touches my heart to see someone finally talking about the need for first responder peer support groups. I grew up in and out of hospitals and became friends with quite a few of the local paramedics. One day one of my closest friends among them a guy by the name of David just disappeared from the roster for like a year before I finally asked (stupid kid) turns out he wound up taking self help advise from Kurt Coalbin. I can't help but wish I could've been in the timeline where he actually talked about the shit he was going through instead of suck starting a broomstick.
To have gone through all the shit he had to have seen and yet he still took the time to talk an autistic kid through an asthma attack just chatting about trains. He deserved better and so does everyone else going through shit like he was.

I've been hanging out for this episode since JD leaked some bts 3 weeks ago, didn't disappoint. Seeing calm, professional Rich was a treat too.
If Unsub ever travels to Florida you've gotta do a Judd or Chitwood guest appearance.

Been watching JD since the beginning of the year and proud to call myself a member of RHE WOOD CHIPPER TRIBE!! This guy is so down to earth and relatable, Jax is a lucky lady. Much love from the UK ❤

I’m glad it was brought up, in the beginning of the video he says he’s known for a few things I can’t remember at this point but I’ve known him always as the person to call out a predator, he is one of the main people who taught he there is right and wrong and there there is nothing but wrong

I'm a certified Peer Support Specialist, and I am so happy that he brought up this position. It's insane how people are not familiar with it. It's also insane how a lot of (not all) mental health professionals do not take our position seriously. Thanks for spreading the word. We need more of you.

Yo need to get John Mcfee ( Sheriff of Baghdad) on the podcast. One of the baddest American Fighters. Tim Kennedy says he needs to be put in a box with a sign, break glass in case of war.
