I’m a competitive horse archer and it’s such a specific skill set and is very tedious to learn in a lot of ways. Spent two years training my horse to be able to do everything on his end (speed changes, turns etc) based strictly on my voice and body language so I never have to touch the reins, then I separately taught myself instinct shooting in archery and got the muscle memory down to the point that I broke a world record for speed. Still hold that record. Then I spent a few weeks getting my horse introduced to and comfortable around the equipment and the sounds, and after that I was finally able to start shooting from horseback. By then you have to be able to read your horse’s movements to keep your arms steady, be aware enough of your own body language to know what you’re signaling to your horse and accurate enough with your arrows to hit the target. It’s a ton of fun and it’s not horribly difficult to do, but it takes countless hours of repetitions to be able to build up the individual pieces to it and piece it all together. Your horse is your battle buddy, so the trust you build and have to have in your horse is incredible. Super super therapeutic to go out and be able to be on the exact same wavelength as this massive beast without ever even having to say a word.
As a LotR fan, I gotta let out my own "tism". Elves can draw their bows back and hold them because they're stronger than men and their bows are "magical" in the sense that they're made from Elvish hair and are very easy to draw without compromising their strength (same way they can have light armor that's incredibly durable). Rohan's bows are nowhere near as good as the elves', but if I recall correctly, their bows are made from only the finest horse hair, which Rohan's are EXTREMELY good, and they'd still have some Numenorean technology floating around. LotR's war technology while on the surface is comparable to IRL medieval tech, in actuality it's much greater due to Tolkien's themes of everything being "lesser" than over time. With that said, it's still "rule of cool" for the movie, but there is some basis in the books for certain bows, swords, armor, and what not being far greater than their IRL counterparts due to our own primitive technology being "lesser" than that of LotR's.
1:23:39 Just a note on that fresh water thing; the journey of Lewis and Clark is pretty significant in MT and just since then we’ve had marshes develop in areas that, according to their journals, were dangerous because of how dry the area was. The opposite has also happened where there was once a large pond that’s now a silt flat. So with how fast the environment can change in a very inland area you’d have to do some in depth soil sampling across entire regions to get an accurate picture of water tables through history.
1:20:45 the reason the Terra cotta army hasn't been dug up further is because once the Terra cotta was exposed to oxygen, it took away its color and made it significantly weaker. Right so one thing I really love to talk about is how the King Tiger, on top of it's already mountain of problems, had it's turret reverse tied to the engine rpm rather than it's own motor so in order for a king tiger to turn it's turret at any decent speed it would have to rev it's engine hard and basically announce it's position to anyone in a 1-5 mile radius depending on environment.
That guy you talked about that held the world records for bench press as a zombie. I did the math and if you say his human max is 1000lbs is 60% of his physical max prevented by the brain and say zombie him gives 110%, he would theoretically be able to move about 1800lbs.

33:03 the book is, hands down, the greatest zombie apocalypse story ever made. Cody is absolutely right. Like the Battle of Yonkers? Can you imagine seeing that? Just the absolute shitshow that is government PR deciding, “yeah, having all our soldiers linked on a live stream “battle net” is a great idea, it definitely won’t affect soldiers morale when they have to watch live on their HUD as one of their friends gets his face chewed off and his throat ripped out. What could go wrong??”
When Nic was talking about the Dr. breaking down 28 days later I'm pretty sure he means RoanakeGaming. Dudes a biologist and does breakdowns on Btier and lower horror movies. Super fun watch
I know you'll never see this Nick but I have a long story for you. I worked at a court in southern az. I wont name it but its a small town court. We had a kid (17 at the time of the crime) 18 by the time he was put on trial. His crime? Being a party to criminal damage. Heres the story. He and another kid were beefing. The other kid was caught on video keying the defendants car. The prosecution refused to charge that kid by the way. So we call defendant Kid A. Kid A tells his bestfriend about it and Kid B says lets go kick his ass. So Kick A agrees. They drive to the house of Kid C (the car keyer). Hes not home. So they bang on the door scream and yell but no one comes out. Kid A walks back to the car. Kid B grabs the half full trashcan and flips it on its lid and leaves. The parents of Kid C come home and the dad tries to flip the can dumping it all over his driveway. Kid A is questioned by police and admits that Kid B did flip the can. But nothing was spilled at that time. Kid A & B are charged with criminal misdemeanor damage as well as disorderly. Kid B agrees to testify against Kid A and is given full immunity. Kid B states in court under oath that HE is the one that flipped the can and Kid A told him not to. Kid A is found guilty. Before I tell you his penalty I'll share story 2. Story 2 features a med student in his residency at one of the local hospitals. Well call him Huband. Husband was being charged with aggravated assualt, domestic violence, and a host of other minor charges. He dragged his young wife through the gravel in the front yard by her hair punching her in the face repeatedly while she screamed for help. She wasnt going to press charges but was convinced that the next time she likely going to die. Why did husband attack his wife? She found out he had a pregnant girlfriend he was supporting and even had a separate apartment and car he was paying for. He had been attempting to stop his wifes birth control attempts. She found out about the mistress, love shack and pregnancy and confronted him. So he attacked her. His attorney struck a deal with the town prosecutor. He would pay a $500 fine and take 20 hours of anger management with a deferred 6 months of probation. Why? "Because it would negatively effect his ability to practice medicine if found guilty..." With that said what did Kid A get? 2 years of probation, $3000 fine, and 48 hours in jail. Why? Because "He had the opportunity to call the police and report his friend but chose not to. Because he chose not to do the right thing he deserves to get the max we can give him. He has to know that this kind of behavior is unacceptable." The system is fucked. And while I never gave legal advice I did repeat myself several times to get my point across until that person understood. I also gave people copies of THEIR documents they paid for with their taxes for free. Because its bullshit to double dip and charge them for their own court documents.

Favorite episode, hands down. No context. LOVE love angry Fat Electrician rants
Usually, ads for a sex shop annoy and disgust me, but I’ve gotta admit, the Adam and Eve ad with King Trout was hilarious
Picked up and Uber rider last night, name was Gustav... he was from Argentina... I smiles and chuckled to myself.
fat thor is historically accurate. In the mythology he was a fat gluttonous god
Admin: *looks at Nick*
Admin : *pushes nicks autism button*
Nick: *rants for 3 hours straight*
Nick : "I'm not going to get into a rant today"
Aaron (admin) : cracks beer* soooo
Oh god! King Trout in the A&E ad!!(Side note: coffee hurts when snorted out the nose)
When it comes to Dads in the zombie apocalypse, I always go back to the short film "Cargo". I think it won a major competition or film festival award in 2012? Heartbreaking but beautiful. Killed me at the time because my daughter had just been born, and the little girl's name in the film was similar.
had to pause on the Adam and Eve ad because I'm fucking crying... absolutely cursed and hilarious, well done
Every time Cody talks Im like "oh yeah! He's on this episode too!" 😂😂😂😂
Nic: Is there alcohol in it?
Eli: Yeah, 5%
Nic: Caffeine?
If Nic's love of history wasn't enough for me to me to be a fan, THAT LINE RIGHT THERE makes me wonder if we aint related...
Do we know what brand poop tea actually is
@@baseballjustin5 I have an idea but now it will forever be known to me as PoopTea!
Looks like it's --Hoop-- Poop Tea
If this is Nic on mixed uppers and downers we need more poop tea for the boys
Lol, Admin needs to do the Burt Gummer basement scene from Tremors.
😂 He might need Alex Jones to help with that one, that'd be a great breakdown!
Admin and Fat El are really close to capturing the two halves of my brain when I have too much time on my hands and nothing to do. Funny AF to see .
These ads are approaching Internet historian levels of brilliant
Time to listen to my favorite podcast that consists of intense weaponized autism and lots of dark humor jokes for the next couple of hours!
You guys all being military, you probably already know this saying my father taught me from a young age, "Always fight fair. I win is fair."
"The only unfair fight is the fight you lose" a slightly different but similar saying I grew up with.
When it comes to MMA, Randy Couture still amazes me due to how dominate his Greco Roman wrestling was against BJJ, kickboxing, ground & pound, and other styles against guys bigger and younger than him. A great wrestler is TERRIFYING.
Admin doing Sam fisher biography 100% the counter to solid snake
I had a case of those Poop Teas, and I have to say, they’re my favorite spiked tea offering out rn. Very easy drinking and it doesn’t leave an aftertaste like Twisted Teas do
In southeast Asia, they'd cut off bamboo at an angle close to the ground, and stake you out over the fresh cut bamboo. Some species of bamboo grows up to 36 inches a day.
Not a fun way to die.
I love Admin and Fat Electrician. I would love to have a history conversation, as someone that had the argument in college for why Russian tanks were not that great either.
Oh. That Adam & Eve sponsor video..,
If you want a good zombie series, John Ringo's 'Black Tide Rising" series is pretty good.
Their discussion on zombies going sicko mode is basically just discussing the Green Flu from L4D
Oh shit Admin is here
For who is interested. The guy that was killed in front of the entire town and no one saw a this, was ken rex mcelroy. Count Dankula and the casual criminalist have made videos about is.
1:38:42 This happened in Skidmore, Missouri. There’s a book on it called “In Broad Daylight”
Found the Jake he’s taking about. Bench 909lbs at 220lbs and 920lbs at 242lbs. Beast of a man.
I love the rants. I also love how King Trout just showed up 2/3 the way through the episode 😂
When Nic was talking about the Dr. breaking down 28 days later I'm pretty sure he means RoanakeGaming. Dudes a biologist and does breakdowns on Btier and lower horror movies. Super fun watch
45:57 this is the best ad I’ve ever seen
"Gravity Racist" destroyed me.
1:49:16 Onwards made me realize I need Nic to collab with Lazerpig before I die
Nic should do a video about the history of martial arts going all the way back to Pankration in ancient Greece.
Just subscribed to PEPPER BOX.. IT'S SOOO WORTH IT !
OKAY HOLD UPP. This Adam and Eve had had me cracking TF up. Also 👏 Eliiiiiiii 😂🎉
Speaking of warbows, read Dies the Fire series by S. M. Stirling post apocalypse with a magic twist (bullets and explosives don't work).
I wonder if any of the boys have heard of the Fall Of Civilisations podcast, some of the best history documents i've ever listened to.
I got so much shit growing up for loving "A Knight's Tale", It absolutely made my world when Nick said that was his favorite!
That was nice of admin to make an appearance for the outro 😂
I'm coming up on a dui charge from over a year ago. Very anxiously awaiting my trial next week.
I think these are the only adds I don't skip through 😂 can we get a montage of just veteran with a sign ads
You guys need to get Simon Whistler on the show and do some casual criminalist talk!
I love watching them wind up the angry electron, great episode
Why? "Because it would negatively effect his ability to practice medicine if found guilty..."
With that said what did Kid A get?
2 years of probation, $3000 fine, and 48 hours in jail. Why? Because "He had the opportunity to call the police and report his friend but chose not to. Because he chose not to do the right thing he deserves to get the max we can give him. He has to know that this kind of behavior is unacceptable."
The system is fucked. And while I never gave legal advice I did repeat myself several times to get my point across until that person understood. I also gave people copies of THEIR documents they paid for with their taxes for free. Because its bullshit to double dip and charge them for their own court documents.
Serious question for the podcast crew. What medium benefits you the most in terms of me watching and listening? I generally use yt for video and pocket cast app for listening at work. I already have pepperbox. Just wondering. Should I switch to rumble? Spotify? I hate apple so I won't use their products.
Also trout and Eli in commercials are so worth watching
Well mushroom roots can stretch across countries and if you remove the mushroom caps it does not kill the mushroom
That a&e ad was terrifying!!
The town is called skidmore mo and there was over 140 holes shot into his truck, the entire town said they were under the bar pool table when the shots were fired and the town was forever called the town with the largest pool table in the world.
The ad broke me the Adam Eve one. Oh God😂😂😂
James Woods?! Yes please!
Watching this at 3AM and it is an absolutely priceless episode lol.
Such a sincerely deep discussion into the roots of NAMBLA🎉
My mcrd San Diego boot camp platoon had a 34 year old recruit. He was older than ALL of our DI's. They called him archi, after Archibald Henderson, the Grand Old Man of the Marine Corps, longest serving US marine ever. Guy was one of our shitbird recruits. Last day of boot camp, first morning we were all officially marines, dude says "I'm not you're (hard r)!" to our black squad leader when given an order he didn't like. Our DI's showed the guy pure disgust, especially our one black DI.
Roanoke Gaming would really be a great guest, in these topics like zombies and aliens
Nick is the hero we need but don't deserve.
