Hearing the postal inspector conversation reminded me of traumatic experience with their TAC team. I was employed by a small oil and gas company for almost a year when the owner disappeared, along with millions of investor money. I hadn't been paid in three months so I briefly worked nights at a local Denny's. One day after work around 1pm, I was sleeping and woke to the sound of quiet knocking. At my front door was man and woman dressed in suits. They called me by my boss's name and asked me to step outside. I had no idea who they were so I just told them my actual name and told them I had no idea where he was. I abruptly closed the door because I was sleepy and irritated having to deal with whatever my former boss was involved with.
Two days later around the same time of day, I wake up to someone pounding on my door. It definitely wasn't knocking and it sounded like someone was trying to break the door. I grabbed my pistol and shouted that I was armed. It was a bad part of town so it wasn't the first time I'd seen someone breaking in a house in broad daylight. The pounding stopped, so i peaked out the peephole and saw a full SWAT team outside. They began shouting orders for me to open the door and to keep my firearm visible but aimed down. I still had no idea who they were or what it was about, but I felt like I had no choice to comply. I opened the door and before I knew it I was on the ground and restrained. They identified themselves as postal inspectors and after clearing the house, the man and woman from two days ago entered. They once again called me by my boss's name and I just about lost it. They did a good job of calming me down enough to tell them where my wallet was and they were able to confirm my identity. TAC team left and I had a two hour conversation with the inspectors.
Turns out my former boss was in deep crap. Mail fraud, tax fraud, and many other charges even including petty theft. He changed his mailing address to mine and that's why they came looking for him. They warned me that the IRS would come to visit too. Sure enough, two weeks later I learned that the IRS has a TAC team too.
Fast forward two months, and my former boss's wife calls me to check on the oil company. She had no idea it had collapsed. I asked her where they moved to and she told me the address so I could forward mail to them. Only thing I forwarded was the address to the postal inspectors and IRS. Funnily enough, when you make enough money, jail time can be avoided on occasion. He was put on a payment plan and spent one week in jail. I am still furious that both agencies put me through all that and just slapped his wrist. I had to go testify at court 7 hours away from where I lived three times as well. Fun times.

My son is autistic and one day looked at me and said, "I am stupid becuase i'm not like other kids." He was in the Navy as a BT on the Kearsarge during Korea. I joined the Navy because of him, I wanted to have stories like he did. A few months ago I was able to show my Dad a couple shorts from both HabitualLinecrosser & The FatElectrician and he laughed his ass off (he liked Grandpa Buff a lot) . We lost him on April 3rd this year to cancer. I want to thank you guys for sharing your stories and humor with us, and for all the good youve done and still do for so many people.

Awe!! My friend's daughter was diagnosed non-verbal autistic and she had a SHIT therapist/pediatrician and they never recommended sign language?!! Like wth?! They've been doing that forever because it helps so much usually. Well.. my sister is deaf, so I started to teach her and after 2 days she knew all the basic signs, every sign for foods that she liked, water, use the bathroom, too loud, hot, cold, sleepy, bed, bath, movie, colors, numbers, yes, no.. lots of others, but she just soaked it in. Her frustration overload stopped. She was so much happier! She even hugged me, and she didn't hug anyone. ❤ But it's like I told my friend, "she KNOWS what she wants, she just can't tell you! That would piss me off too!" But she'd been told that ASL wouldn't help her because she "wouldn't understand." I helped her find a better doctor, and 8 years later... she can speak and only has overload issues in big crowds or when she's really tired. She's the best kid, though! Just makes me so mad that she spent those couple years dealing with a doctor that didn't care enough to help the kid and get her an accurate diagnosis

The thing that happened in Russia was an Orphan source. Kyle Hill has a video on the exact details but basically, the radioactive thing was a super long term battery for an important light on a remote outpost. It got lost in transit to the outpost and then the hunter guys found it. Terrible situation all around and it shows that we need to treat nuclear energy with respect and extreme caution.

Ryden, love, when I found out I was autistic on my 40th birthday one of my friends welcomed me to the Club, and everyone I loved told me they loved me and my superpowers. They even taught me I had superpowers I didn't know I had! Math definitely isn't one of mine, but I'm glad it's one of yours. One of mine is animal information, and another is seeing patterns others miss.
We're definitely different, and that's fantastic. Because if we humans were all the same we'd never learn anything new as a species. People like us just need different things to walk through this strange world we find ourselves in.
Your daddy's right: you're smart, you're handsome, you're funny, you make people laugh, and you'll never give up ❤

Eli is always so humble and respectful, and he thanks us alot. I hope this message reaches the boys. Because it`s our time to say thanks. I am a Norwegian Viking at 41. I have lost my family , many years ago. I lowered my own mom down in the grave. I survived a brain stroke later due to stress and more. I wish i hadnt survived.
Now at 41 years old, i have no friends. If the year was a good year, i might see one person. After that i will wait until next year to see if anyon shows up. The last 15 years
i have spent every 365 days on my own. Eli have inspired me alot, alongside with the rest of the "crew" I keep the podcast running and pretend i hade real friends like you guys. Atleast by having this on in the background i can almost start to feel like a real human being. The friendship between the boys are a very rare and it seems to be just as strong as well. May you all find what your looking for on this Journey, i hope you all will find true Happiness . Forgive me for the long txt. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you.

I hid it for years but the harder you try to hide things eventually the truth comes out. My gf broke up with me in February and that was the reality check I needed to get healthier. I'd glady share my story to anyone who may need it. Most people recommended me not quiting cold turkey but I disagree and I'm really trying to push myself. As cliche as it sounds if I can do it after a decade of substance abuse then I believe others can too.

Eli, the “nuclear” thing you guys were talking about are Soviet Era, Beta-M Thermoelectric Generators. They were used to power remote lighthouses and radio communication stations. When the USSR collapsed, they were essentially “orphaned”, and locals break them open looking for scrap to use or sell, and they have zero idea what they are. The consequences you guys briefly spoke about. There’s lots of similar stories, and they typically don’t end well.

I have a few issues and struggle with social ques and social skills, my daughter is a little over 2 and I'm terrified she'll be like me and have social issues that don't get helped until her late teens like me. Being able to see you in dad mode, even that little bit, and see how easily he's able to show himself and talk even though you've said before he's not interested speaks volumes of how great you are, and how much I hope I can be with her.
