      Hi there, it's important to note that BBT spike usually occurs around 2-3 days after ovulation, which might result in missing the ovulation day if you're only tracking BBT. To increase accuracy, consider using ovulation tests. A peak in LH levels typically signals that ovulation is likely to happen within the next 24-36 hours.

    What do you mean by the spike at the end? The first little spike when your temp is above the previous 6 temperatures for 3 days or the ovulation spike? I’m still confused on how to tell when I’m fertile before or during when it’s happening. What day am I most fertile and how do I know that?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      BBT should spike about 1-2 days after successful ovulation and then remain higher than your preovulation temps for the majority of the luteal phase. BBT tracking only helps confirm that ovulation did occur after the fact so if you using it predict ovulation, you would need to look at your previous cycle history or use LH tests during the cycle.

    How would this work with traveling and waking times?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Traveling can affect the accuracy or BBT. But whenever possible you want to take your temperature around the same time each day after at least 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

    What if I get a higher temperature a day before a positive LH test . Ovulation happens 24-36hours after the LH surge but then my temperature drops on the estimated day of ovulation 🧐 so if this method is used to determine when you’re ovulating, how come my temperature drops on estimated day of ovulation?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sometimes you may see a drop in BBT on the day of ovulation due to elevated estrogen. However, BBT is usually best to confirm that ovulation did occur instead of predicting when you will ovulate.

    How many times a day do you take your temp? Or is it just in the morning everyday?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Basal Body Temperature (BBT) is the body's lowest resting temperature and is usually measured in the morning upon waking, before engaging in any physical activity or even getting out of bed. It is recommended to take your BBT at the same time every morning, ideally after at least 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Just take one temp a day. Consistency is key when tracking BBT, so it is typically done once a day at the same time each day to get accurate and reliable results.

    So how to know when you ovulate by tempting?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! A BBT spike usually occurs within 1-2 days after ovulation, which enables the app to predict the day before that BBT spike your ovulation day. With at least 6 low consecutive temperatures in the follicular phase and at least 3 higher consecutive temperatures in the luteal phase, here comes your BBT spike. Do I need to stay under covers, or should I take i off just before i check the temperature? I cant get this info anywhere.

      @premomfertility  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, You don't necessarily need to stay under the covers. It's generally recommended to wait until just before checking your temperature to remove them, as they can affect the accuracy of the reading. Make sure you're comfortable and your environment is stable before taking your temperature. Good luck!

    What does it mean if my body temp is the same temp for 50 days straight . Does this mean no signs of ovulation? I don’t any other signs of ovulation and I haven’t had my period in 55+ days and I’m not pregnant

      Do you use other methods to track ovulation like OPKs, CM? Alternative methods like tracking LH and CM are preferable becasue BBT rises can sometimes be variable.

  • @marirodriguez9795
    @marirodriguez9795 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, im a little comfused. So you use BBT to confirm ovulation days after. Not day of? So like if i took a OTK test, & it shows the bright blue line signaling ovulation occuring soon. Taking temp wont confirm that?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BBT charting confirms ovulation a few days after it happens, while OPKs predict ovulation is about to occur. OPKs detect LH surges in urine, indicating ovulation will likely happen soon. BBT charting looks at temperature changes to confirm past ovulation. Both methods can be used together for a better understanding of fertility. Remember, no method is perfect, so consulting a healthcare professional is advisable for personalized guidance.

    Hello, I get up randomly in the middle of the night to pee. Does that throw off the bbt reading? I just ordered a bbt thermometer and want to make sure I’m getting the most accurate temp. Thanks

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes it can, depending on when you get up. For best results, you want to make sure you temp after at least 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep so that may mean temping before you get up if needed.

    I work nights😢 how can I try to take it correctly when I’m not sleeping at the same time everyday?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Taking your Basal Body Temperature (BBT) when you work night shifts and have an irregular sleep schedule can be challenging, but you can try the following tips to help you take BBT correctly in your situation:
      1. Establish a consistent time relative to when you wake up to take your BBT.
      2. Use a BBT thermometer with memory recall and a backlit display.
      3. Keep a record of your sleep patterns and disruptions.
      4. Focus on tracking overall temperature trends rather than pinpointing specific ovulation days.
      5. Use a BBT tracking app to help analyze your data.
      6. Be patient and recognize that tracking with an irregular schedule may result in less precise data.
      7. Consider monitoring other fertility signs like cervical mucus and ovulation predictor kits for additional information.
      If you have fertility concerns, consult a healthcare provider for guidance. Best regards, Leyla Premom Support team.

    How about if I raise my arms and stretch my legs but didn't get out of bed, sometimes I forgot I have to take my bbt first, does it make my temp inaccurate?

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To ensure accurate BBT readings, try to take your temperature before any significant movement, such as stretching or getting out of bed. Consistency in timing is crucial for reliable results in tracking ovulation. Good luck to you.

      BBT should spike about 1-3 days after successful ovulation and then remain higher than your preovulation temps for the majority of the luteal phase. Identifying the spike and seeing a shift in temps is what will help you to confirm that ovulation did occur after the fact.

    What if bbt spikes a few days after you get an lh peak

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is normal. If there is a LH peak, you may ovulate within 24-36 hours. After ovulation, your BBT temps will likely surge, with a 0.40°F-1.00°F(0.20°C-0.60°C) or more shift.

      @premomfertility  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, Some women may ovulate without a noticeable rise in BBT. Factors like irregular sleep, illness, stress, or medications can affect BBT readings and make it difficult to detect ovulation. If concerned, consult a healthcare provider.

    How do I change the cover line in the app when it claimed I had BBT spike on CD 12 but I didn’t ovulate until CD 16 and had true BBT spike CD 18, but it’s not registering it. I’ve tried removing the CD 12 reading but the cover line is still based off it

    Hello, My predicted ovulation day was Wednesday. On thursday, I had a little spike on my BBT but today (friday), it when down. I did wake up a few times during the night. Would that make my today’s temp inaccurate? I waited for my fertile window for so long so I’m really hoping I ovulated😢

    • @premomfertility
      @premomfertility  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dear, many factors could affect the reading, please keep testing and pay attention to the trend. If you did ovulate, the overall pattern will show a shift upward in temperatures 1-3 days post-ovulation and they will remain elevated through the last phase of your cycle. You can also track CM.
