my hot tip is y'all should watch riks solo runs to see where y'all are going wrong. a lot of the time it's due to not enough tables or serving people in order instead of serving who ever will clear a table faster
I'm going to say something that probably won't sit well with you and others and I can easily understand why. I say no. The fun of games and gaming is learning on your own and heeding the occasional tip. Doing that makes for a funner (eh. it's a word now) and better video. Got to think about the clicks and reviews.
You don't need to serve the last taken order first. A moment before you lost Jas had medium steak in her hands and panicked that you are going to lose because the was no rare steak available, despite having well-done steak ready. With the medium she carried and well done in the window, you were able to cater to the two-seater. That could prolong your gameplay in that restaurant. And the idea of making four tables one-seater was quite bad. Alone customers can still sit at bigger tables, but the groups can't sit on one top. You could keep maybe one or two one-seaters, but not the vast majority of tables in your restaurant.
From watching others playing Plate Up, it doesn't matter which plate has the side dish on at a table you can still serve it if you accidentally mess up. Hope you find this tip helpful. Love watching you play this.
ok Rik’s editing is so satisfying. 10/10 would approve. also I mean you probably know now but having more tables/ more seats doesn’t mean more people. The people come whether you have the seats for them or not. So if you can afford the space…more tables/seats is better. (as long as it’s the max group size….no need for a 3 seater if max group size is 2)
Yes! This is a very good tip! And its better to have the two seaters because it can accept both groups of one and two. When only 1 seater tables are available, a line starts to form if the next group is a group of two. But if all your tables are 2 seaters (because max group size is 2 in early stage) then it helps with the line. You can seat any party, rather than holding up the line because of groups of 2.
It's great that every mistake that stumps do got explained by rick's edit. And it'll lovely if rick not only explaining it to us, but also the stumps crew. So they will play better with the new information they've got. Honestly rick should be the research guy. Finding strats and reading stats to improve stumps gameplay for each runs
Price said they were constantly cooking steaks when in reality, the hobs spent less than half the time cooking. You made an order, then did a bunch of other things, then went back to cooking. What you could have done was move the steak, put another one on then done the plating and cleaning while the steak is cooking. You spent a lot of time waiting for a steak to finish and a lot of time doing stuff while nothing was cooking. So there's definitely time to be saved in addition to the other tips I've seen about clearing tables quickly when there's a queue.
@@advkow Yep all by himself! Hes gotten to franchise more than once as well. I recommend you swing on over to his channel and watch him. He was streaming the game the other day on twitch and was doing well
From what I see, you have two major issues: 1) reducing tables to one seat and 2) letting plates pile up. You all might want to always keep the two tops closest to the serving window so you don't take Aenne away from keeping up with dishes. Rik learned a nifty trick so that the kitchen crew can help serve so look at his videos when you get a chance.
I really like your guys’ series on PlateUp! Including Rik’s Solo runs and I’m about to watch Price play too in his channel! I will say, you guys seem way more in sync with Price + Ash in the kitchen, and Anne + Jas in the Front of house. Also I will say, you guys probably should read some of the things more carefully, like the Fireplace, however the set up you ended up doing because of the fireplace seemed alot more efficient than the one before! PS. Rik your editing is Amazing
I don't play this game but I thought one idea that it will probably save you time.. Instead of ash and price putting the fries on the plate, you could place the prep station on the "window" and jazz will put the fries on it so the other guys will be focused solely on the steaks
I think one thing that went wrong at the end of this run was that half the tables were only for parties of one. The customers will take whatever is available, so oftentimes parties of one will sit at two person tables. This meant that your parties of two had even less of a place to sit. One tip I have for if you ever get the dishwasher: The dishwasher can take four plates, but you don't have to keep track of how many you've put in it. The dishwasher has lights on the top of it that light up to indicate how many plates are in it. If three plates are in the dishwasher, then three of the four lights light up.
It's not easier in single player exactly, they give you less customers and they have increased patience, but it's still difficult. Best tip I can give y'all is try and upgrade your kitchen more (which you didn't get a lot of chances on this run since they wouldn't give you hobs). Usually the kitchen is where things tend to fall behind. Also just developing a better ordering system cause y'all kept forgetting jazs orders and made the wrong thing or jaz would cal out the wrong thing and that cost you time. Also, Jaz was correct at the end there. Having 5 1-tops and only 2 2-tops was the biggest issue. Especially cause without a hosting stand, you have no control over the customers and single diners will happily sit in those 2-tops. Y'all are doin really well though! You really got into the groove in those last few days!
The side orders can be put on any plate. As long as the table gets the # and types of each side they ordered. For example a table ordered 1 raw and 1 med with fries: You can gave them 1 raw with fries and 1 med or 1 med with fries and 1 raw.
There's a meter at the door that goes down if there are no tables ready. Once it goes all the way down and no tables are ready, you lost, and triggered your extra life to be lost. A table is only "ready" when all plates are cleared off it.
You know what would be great would be a lineup at the top of the screen, like overcooked and diner bros. I really like the very clean and clear icons that they have at the top of overcooked, and it really makes it easier for the person calling out orders. I think jazzy got a little overwhelmed calling out orders because it's kind of all over the place, and it's not clearly designated which one is next, and which order is about to get them in trouble. I dont know how hard that mechanic is to set up, but I think it would help
@@that-possum-guy3209 well, I wouldn't take away the icons above the customer's heads, it's just like a larger image copy at the top of the screen that would make it easier to see. So the amount of time counting down would match the meter on the orders, so that's how you can tell who the order is for. There's a similar function in diner bros that works well also. I just think the tiny icons could use some enlarging and organization
@@that-possum-guy3209 it would work exactly like overcooked where all the icons are at the top. yeah they might not know which table to give to but at least everybody can see what needs to be done first.
An idea I had is that they could color-code the patience meters: green - yellow - red That'd make it easier to tell what's running out quickest at a glance.
Gas override is same as danger hob when combined with a regular hob, difference is that you have to "hold" handle for it to work and you need 1 more extra space to place it.
From the PlateUp Discord on More Players: "The game gets harder as you play with more players to keep the challenge roughly the same. You get more customers and they are slightly less patient. You also get more fire."
I think that ash and price were not using the stoves efficiently. For example you could be cooking each steak rare and leave them in the counters so in case someone ask for medium rare and well done you could cook the rare steaks much faster, rather then, getting them from the fridge and cooking them on the go.
What I saw, I just think that you guys don’t need the one seater tables. There was a point that three couples were outside and there were three tables open but they were only the bar stool tables for one person. Other than that I think you guys were doing great! The kitchen had a nice flow until the end when things got a little hectic. Where was the danger hob when you needed it 😂
Conveyors to the washing basin would be great to help Anne... just stack dishes and just wash them one after another 🤷♂️ I hope you test it as it worked great in demo when I tested it
Just as a heads up: the group sizes aren't determined by the tables you have availible, and as you can't personally seat them (they just walk in like the own the place), groups of 2 can't seat themselves until another table with 2 chairs is free. Even if behind that group is a loner, they can't be seated until the 2 group is. In essence, have more 2 seaters than singles, fo maximum coverage
You guys are doing great! Little optimization suggestion: put the plates on the way to the serving counters instead. It's current location you have to go allll the way to the edge of the kitchen each and every time, if it was on the way you could plate and then immediately drop it in the serve area. Saves you 4 spaces of travel for each dish in this particular kitchen (though obviously the same concept could work anywhere). The only downside is the dish washer would then have to walk that extra distance--but with auto sinks and dumbwaiters and such that might not be an issue.
While a spread out layout utilizing all available space looks pretty, it is bad for efficiency. Try clumping the tables in a small area or keeping the kitchen gear close together. Running to reach the farthest tables or appliances kills precious seconds.
Kitchen work could be more efficient, like preparing rare steaks and putting them on the counters, as the first cooking step is the longest. But yeah, a danger hob would have been really useful.
