@@autumn2ashes211 if that is true, then it suits, but doesn't stop her from appearing young still. Just means college students in their first few years are still on a highschool kind of mentality. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it definitely makes her appear more like a little sister hanging around and making jokes with a 7 year older brother. My sister and I are 7 years apart, we are similar as them. The only weird part is how she has such a strong crush and he treats her as a sister. Makes it feel weird some of the interactions, if he didn't treat her so young but had no interest than that would be fine, or if she saw him in an older brother kind of light. But sadly neither happened, so it can make the dynamic kind of odd. @Flop Town She was like a teenager in the original game, but is more like a young lady in this game. Depending on how "young" you like her to be, then you will like one version over the other.
I don’t think that’s the right term. Doing her justice would imply she was a good character in the og, but she was alright at most. This one vastly improved on her
I love how Ashley turned out in the remake. That scene on the helicopter proved Ada sees her as a legitimate competition in the remake, instead of just an annoying sidechick in the original.

Yeah! I love how they developed their dialogues, now it feels like they're friends at some points, because I feel like them was flirting sometimes... "but I'm not used to having such good company", "is that a compliment?", "take it however you want", who says that to someone that you don't have attraction? If it wasn't a compliment, he could simply said that "no", but he said the opposite, "take it whatever you want", there's a posibility that Leon was flirting with her, I think. Even if the ship couldn't be real, it's nice for me if they're just friends. In the remake he considers her still like a child. He on more than one occasion talks to her as such. He also refers to her as a young girl not woman through out the first few chapters of the game. There is a scene with her using a crane "is this what they are teaching kids in school now a days?" he asks her jokingly, but it doesn't negate the fact that he only sees her like a little sister. Their banter was cute, but anything involving flirting was one-sided. When she hugs him he doesn't give her even a moment before he says "okay" and taps her back to get her to let him go, he doesn't hug her back. Idk why people think that her being upgraded in terms of appearance and personality would change how she is 20, with still a childish demeanor, and him who is fully mature and trained soldier. Again, I loved their interactions, but she isn't a contender for his romantic interest. Any other more mature woman would be closer to his type.
Not only did they make Ashely here even cuter, they also gave her more personality compared to before, she's more caring and selfless in here. They definitely amped her character up
What i think is lacking in the remake: 1. Luis' face 2. Salazar's face 3. Ada's voice acting What's better than the original: 1. Gameplay 2. Everything about Ashley 3. Mechanics Can't wait to lay hands on this masterpiece!
@@harrisonyoung3857 having a round in the chamber is different than having ammo in the mag, having a round in chamber means your gun is ready to fire, while having ammo in the mag doesnt equate to that, important enough to differentiate the two because a loaded gun is a loaded gun, with or without a mag.
I prefer this ending a *THOUSAND* times. Ashley is still a little flirty and wants to be with Leon but she sugarcoats it as her wanting him as her personal bodyguard.
She doesn't need you Leon, she wants you lol. I like that he's oblivious to her more subtle advance, much more natural way to do it than the original's.
He is oblivious because he sees her like his little sister. Their dynamic was great to see when you play the game, but any flirtish comments were all from her. Even when I didn’t know Resident Evil I knew about Ashley and how she was one of the worst characters to ever exist in a game. 😂 Like, in “The Worst Game Companions” lists, she’s almost always in first.
Yeah my dude not everyone loved her in the OG. Her voice was annoying and she acted like a teenager not an adult in her 20s. She was annoying and useless. In this one she's not annoying she's tries to actually help Leon and they have a better dynamic.
I actually really enjoy both versions. Ashley appearing younger in the first one makes it feel more sinister but I also enjoy how much more mature she seemed in this one
I want a game where Leon meets Jill in a game, every other characters already meet each other except for these two , they are both stars same station and yet they didn't even meet once 🤦🤦
Seriously Ashley just has so much girlfriend materials it's insane: 1) She acts highly feminine and graceful: soft spoken, the way that she reaches out to Leon always held a gentleness, same with her eyes and I'm in love with her sitting posture when you play the mini game 2) She's a bit quirky too which just add to her charms 3) She cares about him: resisting Sadler control (a no small feat of mental will) never abandons him and always tries to find a way to help him (she acts more like a supportive girlfriend than a damsel in distress) even after being scared out of her mind when she lost control and attack him, her first instinct was to ran away to die rather than harming him. The scene in the throne room too, when she warns him not to come any further. And she demonstrates this again when she asked Leon to take the treatment first even when she is just a girl and has longer exposure than him. 4) Always show her appreciation for Leon, sweetly thanking him. 5) Quite brave too, she will fight if she has to and she'll risk herself to help him. It's honestly hard to imagine Leon not settle down with her, she's the perfect girl
I like Ashley now because she's useful and don't do stupid things to get captured like in the original. Capcom did her character justice just by making it makes sense everytime she got captured.
I do hope they incorporate this version of Leon in all future movies as well. It’s sad to see him as an alcoholic edgelord, when he could be a sarcastic action hero with a heart of gold
I always wanted them to make a resident evil where Leo and Ashley was a team just like Chris and Sheva from R5, they could say that after Leo rescued her she decided to go under combat and shooting training, so they could be fighting side by side in a new game
I'm going to see 20 minutes about Ashley and Leon? You're correct. I'm so happy that she had a great development, her relationship with Leon was better than the original, they trust enough to make jokes and help eachother, she seems more like a 20 yrs woman (that's her age) and she's more "direct" with indirects xdd, I think I explain well. I feel a little nostalgic and sad, she's one of my favourites characters of RE since more than 10 years... and I think this was the last time that we'll saw her... I hope Capcom show us more about her in future games to know what happened to her after the events of RE4. If it's possible, like she said, make her an agent, it would be great see more development and see her directly in other games... I feel like she has more potential that we think. I like the ship LeonxAshley, it feels so healthy, it's beautiful, just because she flirts with him and in moments (even if he said that she's a kid) it feels like he responds flirting too. I'll always say that LeonxAda is the most toxic ship in RE. Even if LeonxAshley can't be real, I prefer LeonxClaire... or Leon alone xd, but if he has a relationship with some woman, I would like one the last two, a healthy relationship because he deserve it. Thanks for reading, this was a masterpiece, everything had a better development, it was incredible, I'm going to miss the hype of waiting for play the Remake. Have a nice day :DD

In the original she is just a teen, she was in no way leon type.
If that ever happened, I kinda imagine it like that 22 Jump Street scene but him, Mr. President, and maybe Bob or someone
@@CoLdBITeR the fandom will go all the way in lust anyway

Yeah I expected that in the original but they made it happen in the remake which makes it even more natural..
Ashley is so much more likable in the remake. But Ada took the opposite turn.
I liked the OG RE4 Ada better, her voice in the OG game was also way better than now
True, if only they keep RE2R VA

What i think is lacking in the remake:
1. Luis' face
2. Salazar's face
3. Ada's voice acting
What's better than the original:
1. Gameplay
2. Everything about Ashley
3. Mechanics
Can't wait to lay hands on this masterpiece!
It's a nitpick but the water on the ending scene looks real bad
Seems fair
Other than Ashley's hair imo.
Ashley is cuter in the og though plus she is voiced by sandy cheeks.
You also forgot all the great one-liners that was cut from the remake
I like how he checked his gun at 10:05 with just one hand to see if he still had ammo
Nah, he wasn't checking to see if he had ammo. It's a "brass check", he was checking if he had a round in the chamber.
So he was uh. Checking if he had a round in the chamber? The round is question not counting as ammo how?
@@thejanusproject32 So in other words he was checking if he still had ammo ...
@@delirius6256 having a round in the chamber is still having ammo
I’ve been trying my hardest not to spoil myself until I get the game, but it’s hard not watching the relationship between Leon and Ashley grow
Behave!! They're just a "team".
He is oblivious because he sees her like his little sister. Their dynamic was great to see when you play the game, but any flirtish comments were all from her. He even referred to her as a child not in a rude way just using the wording "is this what kids are learning in school now?" to a scene where she gets into a crane to move a wrecking ball.
@@CoLdBITeR seeing her as a little sister goes less towards being oblivious and more just straight denying them.
@@kubli365 maybe, but it doesn't change that he sees her as just a little sister. He not once hinted toward anything romantic, and kept treating her and even calling her a kid before. Of course most of it was outside of cutscenes and in gameplay.

Yea I like how there's now Naughty Dog-style gameplay dialouge for character development, something the prior remakes didn't have much opportunity for.

Such a cute gesture for Ashley to hug Leon when he came to, but you can see that he's trying to keep it professional.
Ada did a lot more to justify Leon's interest in this remake, but I still think she's overrated by him. Claire and Ashley would be better companions imo
I lowkey agree
Damn. These scenes, with the new dialogues and the deeper take on the characters are so good that I could end up watching them all before even playing the damn game!! Well done Capcom 👏👏👏

Can you blame her !! Leon is RE’s gem!
One of the bigest reasons that i liked the game
So no one is going to talk about how Leon just ignores Hunnigan in the end
Seriously Ashley just has so much girlfriend materials it's insane:
1) She acts highly feminine and graceful: soft spoken, the way that she reaches out to Leon always held a gentleness, same with her eyes and I'm in love with her sitting posture when you play the mini game
2) She's a bit quirky too which just add to her charms
3) She cares about him: resisting Sadler control (a no small feat of mental will) never abandons him and always tries to find a way to help him (she acts more like a supportive girlfriend than a damsel in distress) even after being scared out of her mind when she lost control and attack him, her first instinct was to ran away to die rather than harming him.

Waiting for a remake of Chris punching rocks in a volcano. But Leon is badass nonetheless
Now this is what I wanna see.
I do hope they incorporate this version of Leon in all future movies as well. It’s sad to see him as an alcoholic edgelord, when he could be a sarcastic action hero with a heart of gold
But the thing is it's pretty much understandable and realistic for Leon to be an alcoholic as he grows older cuz of the shits he faced...PTSD

10:06 I love how Leon checks the chamber with one hand, badass
I always wanted them to make a resident evil where Leo and Ashley was a team just like Chris and Sheva from R5, they could say that after Leo rescued her she decided to go under combat and shooting training, so they could be fighting side by side in a new game
Tbh I don't think it would fit her. Imo she should have a post similar to Hunnigan but more important.
