The Umbrella Chronicles encompasses several scenarios, which are based on various plot elements from the Resident Evil series. The game's first three scenarios, "Train Derailment", "The Mansion Incident", and "Raccoon's Destruction", are set within Raccoon City, or its surrounding area, in 1998. The final scenario, which is based on new material, is set in Russia, taking place in 2003. The game features nine playable characters from previous Resident Evil games, including Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliviera, Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, Richard Aiken, and Hunk.
The game's first scenario, based on the events of Resident Evil Zero, follows STARS operative Rebecca Chambers, and former Marine Billy Coen as they venture through a train that eventually takes them to a derelict training facility. Once within the facility, they discover they are being stalked by James Marcus, one of the Umbrella Corporation's co-founders and former scientists, who has managed to resurrect himself with the aid of leech test-subjects.After a confrontation, Marcus mutates into a monstrosity, but is subdued by the duo. Chambers and Coen escape as the facility self-destructs. Another sub-chapter within the scenario traces Wesker's actions, now posing as the leader of STARS' Alpha team, as he attempts to escape the training facility. This chapter also introduces Sergei Vladimir and one of his bodyguard Tyrants, codenamed "IVAN".
The game then proceeds to retell the events of the first Resident Evil. The scenario follows Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, as opposed to the actual Resident Evil game, which features the two splitting up. Redfield and Valentine are forced to battle their way through a mansion full of undead residents before stumbling upon a secret Umbrella Corporation research facility in the mansion's basement. The two then discover the facility's most powerful creation, a Tyrant, and destroy it. The scenario features two different sub-chapters, which reveal Chambers' action between Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil, as well as Wesker's reanimation and escape after his apparent death.

Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles are real good for people who are more interested in the story. Especially since they add additional stories, like what happened to Ada and how Wesker survived the mansion.
There was already some older game that showed how Wesker survived the mansion. But I beat Darkside Chronicles
as a wesker meat rider and hearing him as the narrator, i thank capcom for their service💀
RE lore is amazing, I love Wesker and Chris' rivarly and Jill is my favorite character. Rebecca is a cutie pie too 🥰

My biggest gripe will always be that Rebecca didn't know who Chris and Jill are. You're part of the Same special tactics unit stationed in the same police office. How did she NOT know them????

Wesker was a great villian..after they killed him off the series didn't have threatening villian anymore
Most of villains in RE after Wesker are killed in the end of the each games. Even, Alex was killed too but at least her conscious still alive

Wesker is the best true villain in RE. I will say though that there have only been like 2 real RE games after he dies. 6 was meh but 7 had some of the absolute best antagonists in RE history. They weren't villains per-se, they were just really well flushed out crazies. In particular, the son has potential to be a truly evil character. Though I still like Wesker the most, that boy from RE 7 can still do a bit more to make the series interesting.

After attempting to play this game with just a PS4 controller and no ability to adjust the sensitivity of the cursor, you have my undying respect for the amount of work you had to go through to get this to work.

@@crypto1223 well there is ebay for that. Since two years I´ve been buying consoles that i never owned, bought a wii two years ago for 35 bucks, both chronicle games were 20 bucks each. Can really recommend everyone to buy all the old good stuff.

I was also impressed how they've managed to keep Richard around just a little longer by allowing him to survive his snake bite only to sacrifice himself for Chris by allowing the Neptune to eat him instead. Not to mention how both Richard and Rebecca were able to actually meet up with both Chris and Jill.
I've always wondered why Jill broke that zombies neck with her thighs, because:
1) a broken neck shouldn't be enough to finish a zombie
2) the zombie could literally bite her unprotected thighs easily
I hate that part cuz it makes her look like a dainty damsel weenie

This game is a lot of fun and even fixes some weird story issues. I just wish Darkside Chronicles hadn't messed with the formula by adding the constantly shaking camera. Especially since Operation Javier is so good, but not even that makes me want to deal with the camera.

35:24 Wouldn't the previous nights events have yielded better data due to more Variety? Both Stars Teams underwent the same training where as the previous night had both S.T.A.R.S and a ex-Military Officer whose training would have been different than Stars leading to more variety in what he was testing. Hell, I'm surprised that in the Remake of the First Game, Wesker's lines weren't changed to accommodate the events of the previous game and his recognition of it.

I have to ask, What was the point of sending Nemesis when Jill was the only Stars member there? Both Chris and Rebecca were elsewhere so there would have been little point sending it unless all three of them were together.
My guess is Umbrella didn't know Chris and Rebecca weren't there. Remember that even Claire didn't know Chris wasn't in Racoon City. And it wasn't just Jill, Brad Vickers was there too.

Umbrella likely didn't know Chris was gone since he somewhat went AWOL with only Jill and Barry knowing of his plans. Brad was there though also and Nemesis was dispatched more as a way for Umbrella of Europe to just show their superiority over the American Division by showing the advances they'd made in the Tyrant Project by having it kill specific targets.

Billy was played by Chris’s actor in the cutscene but by his own in the gameplay.weird.
Yeah it’s weird, maybe he wasn’t able to finish his lines for some reason so they got Roger to step in last minute to finish em? I dunno that’s just my guess

I think that might be because Chronicles is working more off of the original material intended for 0. From everything I've seen the "Young" version of Marcus looks like it was an extremely late addition to the game since almost all of the concept art only shows Marcus in his elderly state, so when making Umbrella Chronicles they may have just left it out due to that like how Darkside follows more along with some of the original material intended for Code Veronica.

1:08:15 - so, if this game (especially the extra bits) is supposed to be considered canon, Leon's opening monologue about Umbrella's downfall in RE4 is just a bunch of bullshit, right? The real Darkside Chronicles is what Capcom did with RE between 2004 and 2017.
1:26:54 states that Umbrella was ultimately found guilty of being responsible for causing Raccoon City. Wesker basically shared portions of the data he acquired from the Umbrella mainframe to the US Government, and that is what let them prove Umbrella's guilt. It sort of does render Leon's monologue a bit useless, since it was a court case and a guilty verdict that actually caused Umbrella's downfall, but I guess you could say that the verdict would've caused its stocks to crash, so you could say it was also technically true.
In resident Evil outbreak file 2, Yoko’s ending involved her testifying against umbrella. So even before RE 4 umbrella had already been taken to court

thermonuclear collider they are cannon, but the characters that survived are not known except for Alyssa. Whether Yoko survived is questionable, but that doesn’t change the fact that umbrella was taken to court. The only difference is that Yoko was either a witness or wasn’t.

The prototype virus in his veins was already there in him. He merely used a t-virus strain that Birkin gave him to injects himself before the Tyrant killed him.
This caused the prototype virus and the t-virus strain to become active and that is how he came back from the dead as a perfect bioweapon
