If you dog eyes have excessive amounts of build up of gunk, you can soften when you bath you dog and then gently remove it. I have a toy poodle and her eyes water a lot and I have to wipe them twice a day to prevent the build up 💖

This does take time to re train your dog💕 be patient and reward the good behaviour. When I first started grooming Dash, he would not sit still at all, but I groomed him for small amount every day, then he began to behave 💕
Think about how the pup feels. No one wants attacked by an overzealous groomer, but everyone likes being clean. Take your time to train pups to be groomable.

You should maybe ask your vet for specific liquids to wash near your dogs eye, or maybe use scissors to cut some hard dirty fur from its eyes. Use small scissors if you wanna trim some of the fur off too!

Dentists have 2" square sponges (2x2's). As at you next cleaner if you can buy a few for pups next cleaning. Also at the $1 store... cotton makeup remover. Notice how she spends time conditioning the pup by rubbing his head, eyes, muzzle for 5 mins or so. That may be as far as you get on days 1-3... each time adding a bit more attention to the eyes, or having the 2x2 or wipe in your hand without actually using it. You want puppy to enjoy the grooming. It's up to you as the "groomer" to create that joy. Think about what's going on behind the eyes in their little head, then doing the eyes will come easy for all. Chow! I mean Caio
Hello, my dog has and is still currently ill and had to stay at the vets for 2 days, I think this has been the cause to the build up around his eyes and it got so bad that you could hardly see his eye, I was worried he would walk into something and hurt himself so I wiped his eye gently like how you did in the video but as I was wiping the gunk was coming out from under his eye, I was so worried that I extremely gently wiped his eye so gentle as I couldn’t leave it hanging there. Is it normal when cleaning a dogs eye for the gunk to continue coming out from under his bottom eye lid?
@@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials he did come back from the vets already with the server eye gunk which wasn’t there prior to taking him so I thought they would have checked that out before releasing him back to us but perhaps they missed it or it could be a symptom of whatever has made him poorly over the few days. I just found it odd that the gunk was a little stringy and came from his lower eyelid, I wanted to leave it alone so I won’t cause any damage but it was just hanging there so I don’t want him to scratch it in the night and possibly blind himself. I’d rather extremely gently wipe it than risk a completely blind eye

Hello, we would definitely recommend speaking with your vet to ensure your dog does not have an underlying infection.
My dog had that to what we did was when we gave him a bath we wet our finger and just rub it to soften it then wipe it off

No, don’t use alcohol wipes, eyes are very sensitive . Baby wipes are great , alcohol and fragrance free.
If questionable, wipe your own eyes first. If that scares you... imagine how pup feels!

I have a Coker spainel and her eyes some times would be closed shut from the eye boogers so I was like ok this needs to get fixed
Yes, you will need to clean the eyes daily or multiple times depends on the build up in the eyes.
