I've owned both. I found the power delivery much smoother on the HDI, no lag like my phase 1 D turbo. But then my HDI cost me a bomb in maintenance just before the engine blew up at around 80k. I may have just been unlucky, but on personal experience I would never own another HDI. But I would own another XUD in a heartbeat - simple, dependable all rounder.
Agreed on the power delivery. . . But I've had the opposite experience with reliable motoring... Done 130k+ trouble free miles on different HDi motors. I'd take a 2.0 HDi over an overheating xud anyday 😜

Hope someone sees this as the video is old. I'm putting 1 of these in an old ducato motor home. How hard is the hdi to get running "ecu/harness" compared to the xud handfull of wires?
ECU needs power and earth. ECU needs to be unlocked. Ideally you'd want to get a OBD plug somewhere useful obviously and an output for the engine management light. But if you've got the ECU and harness, it just needs plugging into all the engine sensors and then power and ground👍👍🐷
My 405 SRDT wouldn't start this morning. It's autumn in a warmish part of Australia, so surely it should start. My glow plugs seem to get 12v and have good low resistance (~1.2ohms), but I crank until the battery goes flat after about 2 minutes. Other times it starts fine.
No, that's even with glowing like 5 times in weather that a Brit would call "too hot". I'm thinking maybe the glow plug wiring or relay is sometimes not connecting properly. I used to live somewhere even hotter and nobody even bothered plugging in their glow plugs.
Yeah, once warm they don't really need it to start. Is battery and starter healthy to crank fast enough? Fuel filter/pickup in the tank not blocked? Or return lines are perished and sucking air into the fuel lines
Awesome video mate. I went to French car show with you in 2016 if you remember. I had the military green 306 on our stand. Always loved it, but ended up getting rid of it in the end. Always regret it! I went in a hybrid turbo'd hdi and loved it while down there. I think we even had a conversation about this very subject. Glad you're sticking with it!
Not just for bad reasons I hope! 😂 I maintain to this day it was the best 'soulful' car I've owned. I'll forever be a Peugeot lover. Well it sat in my garden for about a year and a half with the temptation of being done up, but I owned an Audi Quattro and a land rover during that time so I had other interests. Unfortunately I've got an A to B fiesta ecoboost. Hate the thing lol.
I actually had a look at what they go for now, seeing some for £2,000! I'd be quite happy with a 205 1.8. Just something to keep the Peugeot dream alive 😂
i love my d-turbo mk1 306 done all the stage 1 stuff to it back in 2000 and fitted a front mount and still have the car now owed it 22 years and 4 engine short blocks later tho had a dyno last year done after fitting a TD04 turbo unit and done some more fuel work and boost controller was holding 22 psi with a 132 bhp and 271 torque it may not be super fast but puts a big smile on my face each time i drive it still after 22 years
Amazing you've had it that long! Why 4 engines??? Td04 is a very very very old turbo. Well worth putting a decent modern turbo on it. 132bhp is more than possible on the stock turbo! They are quick and light enough I think
@@PiggyPower I've had my '97 phase 2 306 TDLX from new, with just over 81,000 miles on it now. Have a straight through stainless pipe with a K&N filter and turned the main fuelling screw by 90 degrees, as well as having the wastegate set, so the turbo spools up at around1,500 RPM, rather than at over 2,000 originally. I've never had it on a dyno but it'll do over 120 MPH. Amazingly, when bog standard, I got around 47 MPG but now get over 50, unless totally ragging it. Bought a Bosch fuel pump and bits ages ago, to replace the Lucas setup, for when the world runs out of diesel and I have to switch to some veg oil or other ! Haven't gone for an FMIC or whopping injectors, as I didn't want to risk a conrod failure, as per your description. Anyway, the loss of economy would make running a diesel car pretty pointless.
@@michaelarchangel1163 Bosch pump may well tune better for power and economy. Can fit the fmic for the same reason, better efficiency, due to the cooler air. Love to see some pics of the car... Send to my Instagram 👍🐷
Used to hear of overheating, cooking the o rings at the bottom of the liners and dumping the coolant into the sump. Weird. Not thought about it since circa late 90's. What engine am I thinking of then. Not Fiat or VAG either. Someone made said block configuration but irrelevant here. Apologies.
Personally hdi for everyday use and xud for a but of fun. The dw10 is the same engine block, crankshaft and turbo as the xud9te. The pistons and cylinder head are different to account for the direct injection. Xud9 feels more punchy but once you turn the fuel and boost up i they generally dont like it from experience
What do you own then out of curiosity? I think you'll find the dw10 crank is different... As is the block. The turbos are slightly newer too (different design). Stg1 tune on the xud9 is bulletproof still so long as done right... But can't always trust people to do it right 😂 they make big power easily but head lift, heat and spinning precups are weak areas for sure. I do agree though, the xud always feels more dramatic than the smooth dw10
Very good video it is relative to what you like good example for me is ive just bought a ph3 hdi d turbo and i used to own a ph1 xud I prefer the sound of the Xud and do prefer the lag of the turbo where the hdi feels lineal and personally as both stock engines i feel the xud is quicker However i have noticed the hdi is soo much more economical than the xud
Yeah the xud may be a bit quicker depending on the model as they were a bit lighter ... Also FEEL quicker because of that slight lag. It's funny that they made the HDi to sound quiter ...yet we all love the xud sound!
personally i like the hdi iaint ever drove a uxd or dturbo ... but your right it comes down to what your prefur :) :D think this is 1 of best video piggy mate this ones more intresting to me mate need more like this please
@@PiggyPower actually i have a quick 1 i no you can get a dturbo and make it smoke isit called "reeking"? but i see some hdi ,s smokein aswell so my questioon is pal are hdi with smoke messy ? isit fucked ? as i thought i belived it was?
Any turbo diesels shouldn't really smoke if tuned and running right. They can often smoke a little off boost to get the turbo going... HDi will often smoke a little more once decatted, really badly though if tuned poorly, boost leak or faulty injection system.
@@PiggyPower iv got the hdi and it smokes abit but im not really use 2 diesles im use 2 turnin key n goin should i let it warm up for couple of mins really ?
Taxiid a 406 1.9 XUD for 7 years and put well over 300K on it. The bad winter of 2010 the heater matrix and the glow plugs packed in, think it took at least 10 cycles to start, and it was as sure as a mountain goat in the snow, a very cold mountain goat with no heating 🤣🤣
@@PiggyPower the engine was still strong, the back arm rusted through and snapped at low speed, the day before the PSV (MOT)expired. In fairness it was 18 years old and was replaced by a lovely silver HDI estate. Believe it or not the later models rusted quicker than the older ones in my experience
@@grantmarshall3026 shame about the rust, I don't see the body's rust much at all, its usually only if damaged by being wrongly raised or repaired in accidents
Havent watched the video but I still have a piggy power sticker on the side of my tool box. You sent me some parts over ages ago, still watch the videos , quality has greatly improved mate.
Haha yes that is the question having worked on both I’m a nuts and bolts kind of guy so loved the XUD. The WD10 has had plenty of reincarnations now with Ford etc. Pretty reliable. I liked both! But XUD for me 😎
The XUD is more old school with a pretty noticeable and enjoyable turbo effect when you reach the 2500 revs, drove a 306 HDI once, it's more linear with a better torque range, not so sure about accelerations, seem better on the D turbo, i also heard that the catalyzed versions of the XUD TE (code name DHY) had reliability problems, with some broken engines even at low mileage.
I had a XUDT, lovely car but very old school turbo wise. Big lag low down and a massive drop in power when the waste gate opened. Did feel nice when the turbo started producing usable boost tho - normally with a load of smoke. It was a Cat model and put a rod through the block at 4 years old. Had a recon engine and ran it for another 4 years. Replaced it with a MK1 Seat Leon TDI which was a significant step up, more powerful & used less fuel. Still have the Leon 14 years later and it hasn't thrown a single rod lol
The HDi creates more torque, so out of the box, usually a little quicker... Interestingly the late xud and the HDi share the same gt15 turbocharger. It's more about fuel/torque delivery and control that means there is that lag waiting for power 👍
Did like my 98 DTurbo, looked great in red as a 3 door. After it empty my wallet a few times, I'd never have another French car. Do miss it - on the rare occasion - hence me being here. Glad to see people are keeping them on the road 😊
Sorry it emptied your wallet...maybe you should have reported it to the police? I've had nothing but reliable Peugeots ... Had a lot of them too... It's only when I've pushed my luck with tuning or done some silly modification I've had an issue. Those I've not modded, it's only been regular maintenance for me. Everyone has a soft spot for a nice 306 though
@@PiggyPower I took my turbo off the other day and couldn't help but chuckle at how tiny it is. I'm used to playing with my other 2 litre turbo running a Ct26 - the difference is comical.
Just bought 306 with good old XUD 1.9 turbo diesel 😎 Really tired of tons of electronics in cars i usually drive so this feels amazing 😍😍😍 Love the simplicity and reliability of old diesels 👌 Also my first old turbodiesel and really impressed that turbo lag is not as noticeable as i thought Really enjoying driving it although needs alot of investment but worth it in my opinion 😎
@@PiggyPower thanks 😎 I am new to Peugeots cause in my family there are only Renaults so this is completely new world haha Thanks for your detailed tutorials, really helps me to understand how to service Peugeots 👏👏 Also my 306 has common Lucas pump so can't be tuned as much But performance is good enough for me now So maybe in future i swap it to Bosch pump and tune it properly Also might install FMIC and straight exhaust to let engine breathe better for a start 😎
I've had less issues owning an HDi as a daily than an xud I have to admit. But they are simpler in principle for sure. 😃 Thanks for watching and commenting ☺️👌🐷
I do really like the HDi engine. With the map I have on mine it really does shift and also quite happily returns 55mpg+ driving normally. The one thing that I miss from an XUD is the exhaust noise.
Do it yourself! When I was running it all the time many years ago, I'd filter my own, got cost to about 20p a litre...or buy it from a guy in a local town who used to over produce for his needs, so I'd buy 40l every month off him for 30p a litre. .... I miss those days!
@@PiggyPower I don't use 5 litres of veg oil a year, let alone a day lol. New veg is 75ish a litre so I use that over summer. Ah well, there's no friendly local producers around here.
HDi! I miss my old 306 hdi's though the newer HDi types can easily double the output of the older xud without smoke or uncle Rodney coming to visit...plus the benefit of better gear ratios and 6/8 boxes and vnt
I understand some people love their XUD or HDI, but this question is only for the people who have had both and modified both. Which do you prefer, and why?
Is this the Piggy from 306oc? Lol XUD all the way for us, hdi is fine but love the simplicity and ease of maintenance (even though DW and XUD are largely similar as far as servicing goes)
Manufacturers don't push all engines to their max any more, they used to tune them to the peak and then move up a size. These days its commercially more logical to make one or two sizes and just vary the power output by electronic means and a few supporting add ons. That way you keep the bulk of the engine and car the same. This is also how you can map a 90 to 125 without any mods, though the emissions will change for sure.
@@PiggyPower I bought a Citroen Zx 1.9 turbo with cracked engine head. A friend of mine replaced his engine long time ago because of a cracked engine block. He gave me the engine head which was like new. I installed it, replaced the belts and pulleys, glow plugs, and oil and filters. The enigne had 320.000km on the dashboard, and speedometer cable was broken and it was broken for more than two years according to the previous owner. So the car might have around 400.000 since it was this man daily driver. Here it is, I drive it like a daily driver for 6 months already. Did some major rust repairs and suspension service. It drives like new. I have a turbo garret type, it awaits replacement but I'm not in rush yet, it drives fine like this. My sister also has zx 1.9 turbo and ot has been very reliable. I can say most reliable engine I have ever seen. Not any issue for 5 years already, for such an old enigne and car it's incredible.
@@PiggyPower I am aware of that, I plan to change it in near future. I've never done that before, should I take off the intercooler, the engine head, the manifolds and work from above? Or it can be done from beneath the car?
@@philipgligorov5848 bit of both really. Don't need to remove manifolds though. Engine mount off. Lower engine mount off. Swing engine forward. Drivers driver shaft out is good idea too
But basically... HDi will always be the more refined, more reliable, more economical option. In a pinch though, an xud will run on all sorts of fuels and doesn't need a battery to run!
Completly unrelated question, but do you think i can tune a 2.7HDi diesel off of a peugeot 407sw and squeez around 300HP without "hiccups/problems"? And if so, what should i upgrade? Great videos though
Does that have the same Aisin Transmissionas the ones in the C5 2.7 and 3.0 HDI? If so, that one would be a big Problem, the stock 2.7 made 440nm i believe, and the 3.0 made 310hp and somewhere around 700nm in Jaguars, but in the C5 they only had 450nm and 240hp, because the Transmission in those were only rated for 450nm.
But if there isnt a 3.0HDi speced 407sw i dont think it fits...otherwise i would have engine swapped them...either way, the 3.0 is much quicker and has alot more potencial, and ofcourse the trans is also stronger on that one
They had the cranks outsourced to several companies. One company made terrible cranks and they like to snap. Some engines are fine to tune but others will snap even in stock form. It's a crap-shoot. You'll find Range Rovers, Ford Territories (here in Australia) and Peugeots with snapped cranks for sale on Facebook Marketplace all the time. If you're serious about these awesome engines I'd say get an aftermarket crank from the US in about 2 years - they've started putting them in the F-150 so aftermarket parts are about to be much easier to come by. I checked one out in the wrecking yard the other day and there's no way in hell you'd get one into any PSA car below the size of the 407 and C5 they came in. My 405 would never have enough engine bay. The RWD layout one from a Ford Territory into a 505 though looks like it would fit...
@@IOUaUsername i like your approach, but how do you know if an engine would fit or not in an engine bay? Ive been searching all around the internet for the dimensions of the engine bay of a 407sw and couldnt find any source on that, ofcourse im not a professional mechanic who knows everything and i would love to have the time to search for every bit and piece to complete my dream project, im trying to keep the cost down, yet im scared on buying one of those and try to DIY myself...but thank you so much, your info helped me alot about cranks!
Honestly, you can't compare thoose two... Like you said, it's only what you prefer, i would absolutely love to own something like that 205 xud from your video couple weeks earlier, becaouse its "big block" swap and period correct, fun and fast car for what it is. But in my oppinion HDi is much newer and better and will always be, it's like you compare carbs to multi point injection, there isn't any way carbs can be better, but in some older car, for example old Fiat 127, i would be happier swap with old FIRE 1.4 engine with 4 carbs than 1.4/1.6 16v fully electronic ignition and injection engine.... For chasing horsepower and speed definitly I would go for newer engine and techology, but for putting smile on your face, sure oldschool can do exactly the same, you just must put your expectations levels right 😊
Hi, i have an 306 XUD9 n/a and im looking to make it turbo, i have and old XUD9T kit, turbo, intercooler and pipes. Changing the gasket for one thicker to down the compression it is viable? Im aiming to 120 cv to the wheels this is posible with stock engine? Or i have to change pistons and push rod. I'm starting to think my "simple" 405 SRDT is just as annoying as the wife's more modern C5, so my project car will probably be getting a 16v HDi 2.2L (since I saw a 2.7L HDi V6 in the wrecking yard and realised it'll never fit in the engine bay of any smaller car than a 407). Then the question becomes how hard is it to put a HDi into a car that was never offered with that engine?
@@PiggyPower exactly. Therefore i say XUDs are the more superior.. i mean Jesus it's like £5 for a 5L bottle of veg oil.. and mpg will more of less be the same! You wouldn't have to pay for fuel again. It'll save you thousands per year..
@@Ma21L thousands a year? I've run veg before. It will drop your mpg. And I ran it when it was like 30p a litre. You'll also need to thin it with diesel or petrol, especially in winter. Of course it has its savings... But doing 12000 miles a year, £1 a litre compared to current £1.45 a litre would only save you about £500 a year. And you're only permitted to run it for 10k miles before paying tax on it... Definitely advantages for savings...but nothing else
@@PiggyPower ah well that's my nievity and ignorance upon that subject. I mean yeah diesel is much better MPG wise.. but hey if there's a way to power your car without forking out £60 at the pump. @@Ma21L you just have to weigh out pros/cons. 45p a litre cheaper. But it's a messy and slow affair filling up with veg oil, Inc ensuring you've thinned it nicely. I did feel the way you did once... But my wife and I between us must have done over a 100k miles in 206/306 HDi dailys with no normal faults, only ones from pushing boundaries of systems. Buy a Lexia (dealership scantool for PSA) off eBay for 40 of your rainyland quids. I've got one that I used to enable an aux input and to troubleshoot my Citroen C5 here in Australia where any mechanic that knows how to fix a French car charges $200/hr. With a Lexia you can do not only everything a dealer can, but everything the Peugeot factory can. So you can actually get a BCM and set it up to whatever ECU, stereo, ABS computer etc you want as long as they're all options on the model of car the BCM is set up as. If you get any of those ghost issues you can read them off the computer even after they disappear. The only tricky part is you'll need a computer running Windows XP (or do what I did and set up an XP virtual machine). Most diesels don't run a lambda sensor cause they'd get too dirty to function very fast. Unless you have a particulate filter AND a catalytic converter.
Don't need stuff coded to run the 2.0 HDi with edc15, grab an engine loom an unlocked ecu from a 306 HDi and just give it power, soon as sees cranking, it will start and run fine. I think you chose to use the most complicated Citroen of the era as a donor car unfortunately! Lambda? You are thinking too much like a petrol head! Only very very very new diesel stuff runs sensors in the exhaust, more to do with emissions control. And pressure sensors for clogged cats and dpfs. The ECU doesnt need to know what is coming from the exhaust to adjust fueling, unlike a petrol fuel injected system.

That's a fair overview. It's to each taste, if you want the feeling a 106gti, a 306 DturboS won't do it... 106gti is on my list of cars to own...even for a week or two. Lovely little things. 👌🐷💪 Thanks for watching! Please consider supporting by subscribing 👍😁
It wasnt much the case of a craving for a 106gti thats just what i happened to buy afterwards down to my unhealthy love of 106s. The d turbos are talked up to be this amazing, super quick diesel with loads of potential (thats how it came across from fans and owners) and thats just not what i experienced. However i did have the joy of the rusty N/S/R arch to contend with
I've never had any rust on a French car before. My theory is the oil leaks protect the entire undercarriage from water on the odd occassion that it rains. They also don't salt the roads here so that helps.
That wasn't always the case. I find they rust usually in 3 places, Rear inner arch= because the wrong wheels or a axle has worn so someone removes the arch liner Sills midpoint behind the skirts= someone jacked it up in the wrong place and broke the undersealing Front floor= same as above, some numpty jacked it up in the wrong place, broke the seal protecting it all

BMWs and Audi's are hideous to work on, absolutely hideous. A4 TDI clutch, 10hrs and £750 in parts.. what a joke. Awful Audi specific bolts ... BMWs packaged so tight you can't get to anything and wiring issues everywhere! It's why German stuff keeps ranking way below Peugeot in the last 5yrs of reliability tests. They just are not that great as people make out... especially when you try and work on them... And then see the parts bill!
I own a 94 XRDT, what is the differences in spec between that and the Dturbo? I know the engine is the same right? Is it just options and nothing related to performance? Cheers
Sounds like you had your mind made up when you made the video you love Hdi lol I'm old school so I'll keep It that way give me a spanner and lowered 3 nicks at the back any day go kart spec 👌
HDi is old school now... technology today makes the HDi 306 seem old!! Biggest issue I find now...so little xud bits about... And the overheating. Oh the overheating. Glad you're still loving 306 life 👌
Ye I hear you it was a good few years back I owned afew 306s never had a hdi though drove one or 2 didnt find them to impressive but I have long moved on from the 306s we can spend all day talking about which engines are best but let's address the terrible rear axle issues they have I put 2 in the space of a year back in the day not good haha
Ahhh ok .. HDi from the factory so much more refined and thus often didn't feel as dramatic as the xud turbo... As far as the rear axles go... I think they are a genius design. Usually lasting well over 10yrs and 100k miles before needing work... Sometimes longer... Compare that to the rear suspension on other cars, the focus, BMWs, Audi's... They need constant servicing and parts replacing at great cost and not much age! I find people who bodge them, lower them way too much or fit second hand already worn out beams often then hate them 😜
Well I do appreciate there design for the axel was ahead of its time for sure and I never actually lowered one myself but most that I bought were slammed we had a fix for them though we found that what happens the axles is they dry out so a small hole drilled in and a grease nipple welded on worked wonders 🤫😉😁

I'm not a great fan of older petrol pugs if I'm honest... Other than the 106gti. The engines are often ugly, inefficient, heavy and not all that quick. I'm not against petrols of course... See the mini build... But they need boost of course
@@PiggyPower Ahh okay just the higher end petrol models like GTi worth a look, otherwise a bit slow etc. I guess they are inefficient judging by the fuel consumption figures, which are bad even for one working at optimum for its design.

No one forgets your 306 🙈😂👍 wonder where it is now? What you running round in now? Thanks for sticking around 👌
Cool engine though....see the Kev project!!!! Geta pug back in your life!!
I actually had a look at what they go for now, seeing some for £2,000! I'd be quite happy with a 205 1.8. Just something to keep the Peugeot dream alive 😂
205s are silly money now ..but are holding value at leasr
i love my d-turbo mk1 306 done all the stage 1 stuff to it back in 2000 and fitted a front mount and still have the car now owed it 22 years and 4 engine short blocks later tho had a dyno last year done after fitting a TD04 turbo unit and done some more fuel work and boost controller was holding 22 psi with a 132 bhp and 271 torque
it may not be super fast but puts a big smile on my face each time i drive it still after 22 years
Amazing you've had it that long!
Better means engineering integrity: as an example, the XUD wins because it is a cast iron block as opposed to an alloy block with wet liners.
The HDi is not alloy with wet liners.
@@PiggyPower maybe I'm getting confused with the 16v version
Seems I've been totally wrong since day 1. Egg on my face.
Used to hear of overheating, cooking the o rings at the bottom of the liners and dumping the coolant into the sump. Weird. Not thought about it since circa late 90's. What engine am I thinking of then. Not Fiat or VAG either. Someone made said block configuration but irrelevant here. Apologies.
I love the older Diesels but the ignition on and wait for the glow plugs to warm up you can put your seatbelt on while the glow plugs are warming up
Yeah, this is true... Depends how good the plugs are and how cold it is though... You may need to put your seatbelt on 3 times 🤪🤣
@@PiggyPower Good one top comment 😂😂
Haha
Very good video it is relative to what you like good example for me is ive just bought a ph3 hdi d turbo and i used to own a ph1 xud
I prefer the sound of the Xud and do prefer the lag of the turbo where the hdi feels lineal and personally as both stock engines i feel the xud is quicker
However i have noticed the hdi is soo much more economical than the xud
Yeah the xud may be a bit quicker depending on the model as they were a bit lighter ... Also FEEL quicker because of that slight lag. It's funny that they made the HDi to sound quiter ...yet we all love the xud sound!

Any turbo diesels shouldn't really smoke if tuned and running right. They can often smoke a little off boost to get the turbo going... HDi will often smoke a little more once decatted, really badly though if tuned poorly, boost leak or faulty injection system.

Haha yes that is the question having worked on both I’m a nuts and bolts kind of guy so loved the XUD. The WD10 has had plenty of reincarnations now with Ford etc. Pretty reliable. I liked both! But XUD for me 😎
Fair enough... What's your one main reason??

Also my 306 has common Lucas pump so can't be tuned as much
But performance is good enough for me now
So maybe in future i swap it to Bosch pump and tune it properly
Also might install FMIC and straight exhaust to let engine breathe better for a start 😎
Yeah, get a FMIC in there with a Bosch, just remove back box, most restriction there. See 140-150ish bhp then.
Xud every single day. Owned many of both and the xud is just so much more straightforward
Yeah, and running veg? 30p a litre for the win!
30p a litre, where you buying it? 75p a litre in even cheap bulk buy markets!

Parts more available too. I miss the xud's, rare now... But can't beat an HDi as a daily tbh. Although...running on veg oil is very nostalgic

For sure 🙈😂
I understand some people love their XUD or HDI, but this question is only for the people who have had both and modified both.
Which do you prefer, and why?
HDi all day. Because .. it doesn't overheat constantly like XUDs do!
Is this the Piggy from 306oc? Lol XUD all the way for us, hdi is fine but love the simplicity and ease of maintenance (even though DW and XUD are largely similar as far as servicing goes)
Hi Emma J, yes, the one and only Piggy... You're right, there isn't much in it as far as general servicing... Just a marmite/jam kinds thing.
xud all the way you can run it on veg oil . but what i can't understand is why is the 2.0 hdi only 90bhp and the 1.6 is 110bhp ?
You can get the 1.6 as a 90bhp and a 75bhp and the 2.0 as a 110 also... 👌
Indeed. Also better to build an engine that will handle 200bhp, then tune it for 100bhp... Makes it super reliable!
@@PiggyPower can i easily upgrade the components of my 75bhp 1.6 hdi?

TD and HDi is the same thing. Turbo diesel. HDi is Turbo diesel 😜🐷👍
Yup, just be ready for the crank to snap in half or the turbos to blow 👌

Pretty easy. Edc15 and loom from a 306, only needs power to an unlocked ECU and she will run 👍

Cheers
Just spec. Engine power is the same. Brakes will be the same. It might have slightly better suspension. DTurbo was just a trim level...like Xrdt
2.0 Hdi all the way bullet proof engine go forever
I'd have to agree with you 👌🐷
Defo marmite! Yorkshire year taste like mud, though. You should know better. 😂 Nice video 👍
Best tea ever. Ever. Everrrrrrrr! Haha
Xud all the way. Hdi “anti pollution fault” a la 307 is a f*****g nightmare
I bet that's a 1.6hdi? ... You don't get those faults with a 2.0HDi in a 306! Hateful 307s!!
I find people who bodge them, lower them way too much or fit second hand already worn out beams often then hate them 😜
Well I do appreciate there design for the axel was ahead of its time for sure and I never actually lowered one myself but most that I bought were slammed we had a fix for them though we found that what happens the axles is they dry out so a small hole drilled in and a grease nipple welded on worked wonders 🤫😉😁
i agree, no one i speak to believes me that d turbo is the spec, not the engine. I have an HDI D Turbo and not one fucker believes me they exist - everyone thinks its D Turbo = XUD and HDI is HDI
but really dude you did not answer the question you made a video about - given that D Turbo is synonymous with meaning XUD
But I did discuss it...it's a matter of preference
Any love for petrol Pugs? Not even a teeeny weeeny lickle bit!? 😎
...not really the reason for this video... Tricky to compare two types of diesel engines and mention petrol... ?! Be like comparing different turbo chargers and asking why I didn't compare n/a 🧐
@@PiggyPower Yeah true, just I have been dying to mention this for months lol.
M-tdi
There is always one...
With a terrible idea 😛
Xud is king
Until the HDi came along? 😅🙊
