    I have a friend who was pregnant and got covid at 5 months pregnant and she was perfectly fine, and her baby was born perfectly fine 🤷‍♀️

    I believe it’s important to state that the CDC reports and the reports they reference have not observed that the pregnant and non-pregnant groups are “similar.” In fact, the pregnant group have higher rates of pre-pregnancy comorbidities (obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, lung disease). ICU admissions seem to not have anything to do with reported symptoms because the pregnant group reported symptoms less frequently than the non-pregnant group. Moreover, the majority of pregnant women who test positive for COVID-19 were asymptomatic and had to be excluded from their studies. I think it’s safe to assume the higher ICU rate either is associated with higher rates of comorbidities OR that doctors perceive pregnant women as more vulnerable and admit them to the ICU more than they would non-pregnant women even if they report more symptoms.

    Wondering if people should continue to try and get pregnant while getting the vaccine. Would the vaccine effect the baby if it was an early trimester versus a later trimester?
